"Yeah." Lucas said. "Rose is the Ravenclaw prefect."
Prefect...he knew Fionna had to do her duty as a prefect and take the points away, but he still had no response to it. It still sucked that she'd assumed the worst of him and he had no idea what to say to her about it.

"Prefects always are willing to help new students around the school." An image of Fionna showing him around on his first day flashed before his eyes.
"But they take points away from students as well."
Now an image of her angry and sad face flickered in mind's eye.
"If you lose too many points, then you put your house in danger of losing the house cup."
His face in the shrieking shack was like a photograph in front of him.
"But if you gain points for good behavior, then you help your house out to win it."
He remembered picking up the crumpled paper so the Headmistress would award Gryffindor those points. His mind was a bit of a jumble since he hadn't talked to anyone in so long about anything, really. But he was so relieved just to be talking again. He was glad Tyson and him were somewhat friendly now, it was great to see a smiling face.

Tyson nodded, so he had remembered right. That was a good thing. Hopefully somebody would be able to point he out to him when he was in desperate need of some help. "That's good. I'm sure I'll be needing some help." He said with a chuckle. HE thought that was probably normal for new kids. This place was actually a lot bigger than his old school and a lot more confusing.

Tyson vaguely remembered reading about the house cup in one of the books or pamphlets he had gotten to acquaint himself with the school. "What do they take points away for? Just bad behavior?" He asked curious so he wouldn't have that happen to himself. It sounded like something his fellow Ravenclaws would be mad about if he lost too many points.

"So the house cup is something special. What's the prize for winning it?" He asked. He was full of questions, but Lucas was bringing these topics up so he thought it was alright to ask some of them. He hated asking questions. Usually Tyson preferred to find out the answers on his own, mainly because he always had so many, but surely Lucas wouldn't mind a few of his countless many.

"Oh... wow, I'm so sorry about your sister," she said with a distraught look on her face, her heart sinking. She ran her hand over Phantom's back as she took the last sip of her tea. "You're lucky to still have your brother though, all I've ever had is Phantom and I didn't find him until I was around 6 years old, he was a stray kitten. My parents didn't even go with me to Diagon Alley, then when I wrote them a letter telling them where I got sorted and how I was. They sent me back a letter that said 'Never step on our property again, you are no longer our child,' but then again I never was," she said with a bitter yet sad tone about her voice.

{{ It's ok =) }}

Ami remained silent not because she didn't want to talk but because she couldn't. Flashbacks of being shunned and ignored by her "parents" seemed to overwhelm her for a second. It felt like an eternity before she recovered from her trance. She seemed to go into trances sometimes, and then afterwards, she would not be able to recall what had happened. Her sister had secretly brought her to a muggle doctor when she was young when she spaced out for two minutes and started muttering and screaming. They had suspected that it was a brain problem due to trauma, but there was no evidence to support it.
"So," Ami said in a cheerful tone, trying to change the subject, "what classes do you have? Maybe we have a couple together!"

"Yeah just bad behavior." Lucas said, a lump swelling a bit in his throat.
"The house cup is awarded to the house that does the best, at the end of the year there's a huge celebration and feast and the house that wins obviously has the best time." He said, making a bit of an effort to smile.
"You get points for Quidditch games too, if you win a lot of them and get the Quidditch cup, then your chances for winning the house cup are a lot greater."

He took a sip of pumpkin juice to try and get the swelling in his throat down, but the cool liquid did nothing to help. He put his elbow on the table and leaned on his head to relax a bit, look a bit more natural than the unease he was feeling creeping up on him. He realized he wasn't sure if he wanted to talk or not, even though he'd been so desperate to at first. Still, he didn't show any signs of being bored and wasn't any less interested to hear about Tyson's school. He just had that familiar feeling of wanting to curl up in a ball in a closet or something, the same feeling he got when Fionna yelled at him...

Tyson nodded. He already planned on trying to be as good as possible since he was new. Didn't want to give anybody any reason to hate him though apparently by just being himself he already had. That stupid Slytherin girl had to ruin his first day already. He really didn't care about what that girl thought about him, but it couldn't help but bug him.

"That sounds rewarding. A good thing to work for." HE said nodding. After a few more bites, Tyson figured he should head off and try to find his way to class. "Well I should get going. Need some time to find where I'm going. It's been great talking to you Lucas. See you around." He said with a smile on his face before standing up. He would probably head to the common room first and change into his uniform so he didn't get in trouble.

"See you." Lucas said, waving goodbye. When Tyson was out of sight, he left too, looking awkward sitting at the Ravenclaw table when he was a Gryffindor. He headed upstairs to his own common room, hoping he wouldn't run into Fionna. He seemed to be doing a lot of that lately, no doubt because he was in so many of her classes. He couldn't have avoided her even if he wanted to, which he didn't. He wanted to just talk to her, to patch things up. But he wanted to get over it. He was so conflicted, so unsure, that he'd seriously thrown up over this. His mind was reeling and aching and pulsing and what did he do he had no idea anymore...

"Friends are God's apology for relations."
Brushes off the page looking up at the great hall once again before looking back down at the page. Biting the inside of his lip she let out a sigh. He didn't like it. He never showed anyone his drawings anymore but if anyone did get a peek at them they said it was amazing. Liam was of course his worst critic. Setting his lips in a scowl he pushed his sketch book aside.

Lazily his eyes scanned the Great Hall again. He was probably the most boring person in here. Everyone had someone to talk to, if he wasn't a Slytherin he would probably have more friends. Slytherin always got a bad reputation. His family didn't like Slytherin's they were all Ravenclaws and felt that only good wizards came from Ravenclaw. That would make him likable! A new house. Honestly he wasn't sure that people knew he wouldn't eat them if he was spoken to.

Azrael wondered why Ami was so quiet for a moment then realized it must've been the awkward subject. She chuckled lightly. "I'm sorry for getting so serious about the parents subject and I have Herbology, Potions, and Defense against the Dark Arts. I'm hoping to get into Care for Magical Creatures when it's opened, how about you?"

Lucas walked into the great hall the day after meeting Tyson feeling a little better than he usually did. He didn't sit at the Ravenclaw table though, he sat alone at the Gryffindor one as usual. He was starving and ate a bit more than usual with the result that he wasn't the only loner in the great hall by the end of breakfast. He noticed one girl in particular, over at the Slytherin table that was staring at him oddly, like she was curious. She wasn't very pretty, there was something...off? about her that he couldn't explain even if he wanted to. But she made him uneasy and he decided it would be best to avoid an argument and just leave early.

Ho took his bookbag and swung it over his shoulder when he was finished eating moments later. He couldn't help but notice that a second after he stood up, so did the Slytherin girl. Coincidence? Something in Lucas told him it wasn't. He walked a bit faster to get to class. Not ten steps out of the great hall, he saw a flash of black hair and then the empty interior of a classroom.

Rhi was sitting in the great hall when she saw the boy who looked like a teacher sitting at the gryffindor table. He had odd circles under his eyes, his hair was extremely grey in places, his clothes were too shabby to be naturally worn out. Not this early in the school year. He looked so...old? Handsome, but old. She blinked, and something clicked. He stood up, so did she. He walked out, she followed. The moment no one was looking she propelled him with suprising strength, and none too gently, into an unused classroom. No one was in there and she locked the door. As she heard it click, she faced him.

"Looks like I'm not the only monster in Hogwarts." She said quietly. She walked up to him so she was about a foot away and grabbed his arm with her nails, digging the talons into his forearm.
"I know all about monsters. It's my skill, it's what I'm good at." She hissed, looking hungrily into his eyes.
"I've always envied the great monsters like you." She said in the same, hissing, hushed tone. "I may be superior, of course, but you are indeed blessed. That isn't natural grey....but it's not dyed of course...no..." She twirled one of his short grey hairs in her fingers.
"I'm going to guess werewolf." She looked up into his grey-blue eyes. "Am I wrong?"

Lucas blinked a few times and found the Slytherin girl creeping towards him. He backed up into the wall and cringed when she touched his arm. She was like ice...then something she said was even colder. She knew. She was superior? She envied monsters? Half of what she said actually sank in, he barely understood her, her statements were so radical and strange. If she knew all about monsters, it was her skill, then there would be no point in arguing. What was the point of hiding it when she was completely aware? He shuddered as she looked into his eyes, he could now see her up close and could honestly say he'd never felt colder. If she was a monster too, what type of monster was she? It was an odd and wicked feeling. Even though it was only her nails in his shoulder, it felt like thousands of icy knives.

"It's not a blessing." He said harshly, yanking his arm out of her grasp. "I hate being a werewolf. I won't bother saying I'm not if you already know." His voice was shaking slightly, he was truly afraid she was going to do something insane and yank his throat out. He didn't doubt it. He shut his eyes for a moment so he didn't have to look at her face so close-up, and heard her voice slither in his ears again, ringing, echoing strangely.

Lily walked into the Great Hall, almost falling over out of exaustion. She walked over to the Gryffindor table, slumping into her seat. She took a book out of her bag, and began to write. She's been into a writing mood latly, and reliazed that she should. She laided her head on her right arm, wiritng with her left hand. When she stopped, she doodled in the margins. It was one of hern many muggle notebooks. She sighed, taking a sip of water. After awhile, she got bored. She looked around the room, seeing everyoen talking to other people. She grabbed her book, seeing all of the poeple at the Slytherin, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, and even the Ravenclaw loudly talking. Her eyes laid upon a boy, sitting at the Slytherin table. She shrugged, and as she stood and walked twords him, she studied him. Dark clothes, and dark hair. That was pretty much all she could get at this angle. She sat next him, and dragged a piece of red hair behind her ear. "Hey. I'm Lily. Are you new?" Stupid question. He looked older then her. Oh well.

Rhiannon grinned evilly before speaking again.
"Not very brave are you? You're voice is shaking." She sighed softly, but loud enough for him to hear. She crept closer and reached out to his Gryffindor badge.
"Pity. I thought Gryffindors were supposed to be brave." She flattened her hand over the badge on his chest and leaned in offensively close to him, almost nose to nose. She spoke with a kind of furious passion; "If you're a monster, be proud of it. Don't just accept it, embrace it. Use the gifts you were given. Bite. Go ahead, coward."
She put her hand beneath his nose so it was literally the only thing between their lips, no space between them.

After a few moments when her hand wasn't bitten, she grinned.
"Just as I thought. You wouldn't bite someone no matter what. You have firm beliefs, but you believe in all the wrong things."
She didn't want to be a werewolf personally, too much inconveinience when she wanted to live forever and that could only shorten her chances. She couldn't recall meeting a werewolf who died old. She removed her hand so the space where it had been was now the only thing between their faces. She was so close she could feel his hot, fast breath on her face. He was attractive, but she loved another. Still, it was another monster's breath. She was going to savor this moment for a little while.

Lucas just stared. He wanted to speak out, but couldn't. When she moved her hand away, he finally did.
"I...I'm not like you. Don't compare our beliefs." He muttered. He was more fearful than angry, now that this girl knew, what if she told Fionna? He didn't know how much Rhi hated people who stood up for themselves, since it was useless, so he didn't know how angry he was making her by pointlessly disagreeing.
"I know I'm a monster and a beast and a horrible creature. But I don't delight in my disgusting self, and I certainly don't delight in the painful transformations."
He stared at the floor now and his memory went into overdrive. Would Fionna ever look at him again if she knew? It didn't look that way anyways...But then would she look on him with hate instead of not at all? He honestly preferred looking at him with hate...then he at least existed...Would she be furious, or delighted to have justification for ending their brief relationship? Would Headmistress Nikolai be upset that he admitted it? He couldn't help it, it had been no good to argue, she saw through him like glass.

He wanted to run, to leave, but couldn't. Something, fear and hate, loathing and shock, rooted him to the spot. Even if he did move, he might end up kissing her, that's how close to him she was. He had no idea why she was tormenting him like this...she was the worst Slytherin he'd ever met.

"Friends are God's apology for relations."
His eyes rarely flashed up from his paper, he wasn't happy with it and he knew he wouldn't stop until he was happy with it. Closing his eyes he sat down the pencil and put his hands on the side of his head. The more he told himself he hated the drawing the bigger his already pounding headache would be. Trying to block out all of the noise around him he leaned his head back looking up at the high ceiling. Letting out a deep breath he opened his eyes.

A noise next to him brought Liam's attention to his side. Looking down he noticed a red-haired Gryffindor girl who sat next to him. She was quite pretty but then again he thought most girls were, a few boys if he was honest with himself. Though he was slightly confused, why had she sat here? Didn't all Gryffindor's get the same "Don't talk to Slytherins" message when they were sorted? He nodded before answering with a light smile, "Hello Lily, I'm Liam. I've been here a week or two so I suppose I am."

When choosing between two evils, I always like to try the one I've never tried before.
