FOUND EARS:

Note= Not using Coraline for anything other than testing. Been a little bit of a learning experience.

Yeah Airy Armor, l found it too which reminds me of the old Lop Eared Elves mod for TES4, which was what Coraline actually was as a side note but l just called her a Altmer Teen/Child to simplify things.

l also found the more elegant armor of what Coraline wears in TES4 as well. She just wore the plain black but l haven't found that type of it yet and this armor still needs some work since it just clips around the character. [x]

Also l'll work on the Pleonasm post tomorrow, long day at work xD

Modding is addictive

Good that she's starting to come together.
Actually meant to ask you guys about your inclination towards Altmer,
You don't describe your characters as Altmers are, really.
And they are pretty much the same now as they have ever been,
barring greater detail.
Just curious.

Also had a long day. Woke early, froze myself in transit, baked my face in front of a glass crucible for three hours, froze myself to death again going to my mom's, baked muffins instead of cake for my girlfriend's birthday, went home, wrote a paper.

lt is really fun, which is why l love playing games on a pc! So much more you can do to a game. /nodnod
But only problem with Airy Armor is the ears don't really blend well with darker atmospheres, you can see it in the screenshot. The thing l also don't like about her armor is the obvious clipping and when you're in first person the armor looks like the white version of it. Kinda annoying.

Though as far as the Altmer, most info about them on the UESP are like stereotypes. Same with other races. People aren't classified as their race, as far as personality goes. And with Coraline's appearance, the only really only non Altmer is perhaps her hair color and eyes. Though there are some Altmer in Oblivion that have blue eyes and gray hair (but mostly the elder ones have that hair color). And her personality could be explained by the past five years of her current 15 growing up in Mage Guild Halls and trusting her life for all the races, so her impressionable years have mostly been around all the races and seeing them without her parents telling her what they are seeing them as individuals.

Yeh, there are always annoying bugs.
They usually never get ironed out unless you do it yourself. neutral
something I remember from two years ago when I put a lot of love into Morrowind, from the lowest texture to the highest LOD, that specular mapping always behaves poorly indoors unless it is just right.

I understand the standards and classification bit.
I don't think anyone is confined to a personality or class because of what race they are born into.
But existence of a character as they are implies some physiological correlation.
Coraline, although she is 15, would probably be marked for dwarfism in Summerset. Altmeri women average at 6'4 with a standard deviation of 2 inches (zero in the game, obviously, but a deviation is realistic thinking).
Her eyes and hair color are perfectly natural for a high elf, those are not the discrepancies.
She lacks the golden skin, docillocephallic head form, and high brow ridge of the Aldmeris.
It may just be because those features aren't particularly attractive to you,
but Coraline does not Correlate.

I'm not questioning her character literally or personally, or your writing, all three of those things being things I like.
I am questioning your partiality to the species, and why you feel it is the most adequate for your character? What's the appeal? Pure curiosity.

Yeah, l had to do some tweaking to some old armors, mostly helmets for Coraline for TES4. lt got annoying after a while.

Altmer live for hundreds of years even thousands of years, Divayth Fyr (who is a dunmer) is 4,000 years old by Alfe Fyr's account. And most Dunmer live shorter lives because of their harsh lifestyle since Morrowind is always in a civil war. So with a longer live span l would assume their bodies mature slower, giving her height a more reasonable appearance if you look at it that way. And quoting Alvur Relds, a dunmer ''Well, I'm fifty, done my twenty years in the Service, and I'm in the prime of life. I expect another fifty good years, and then I'll be old, and slow, chatting with gaffers around the hearth for another twenty, thirty years. I've known mer still mind-sharp in their late hundreds, and heard of folk 200 and older. My family usually makes it to 120-130, providing we don't get sick or poked in the eye.'' (the question the person asked was ''I've always been curious about the lifespan of elves. We all know they live much longer than all other races, is this true for the Dunmer as well? How many years would it take for you to be considered 'old'?'') Just some more evidence to support my case: The Real Barenziah, v 2 it says ''Katisha's face briefly wore the envious, wistful look humans got when contemplating the thousand-year lifespan Elves had been granted by the gods.''
So if a race lives for a thousand years, fifteen years old is still an infant. She is still growing and maturing, her height will average out when she has grown fully. And in real life l'm 5'10, the average height of a caucasian in the US, while my sister is eight inches shorter then me and older, though she is not considered a dwarf. Coraline is 4'9 and the average Altmeri is 6'4, she would have to grow seventeen inches to be the complete average height. And we see shorter people in everyday life, it's normal to see deviations of height. Dwarfism is usually classified as someone roughly 4'10. Just one foot shorter then the average height, so she'd have to grow to 5'4 (with two inches for deviations so about 5'2 would be dwarfism which is only five inches to grow still, and her age l'm just saying accounts for it)
Though you're right, l forgot about the dolichocephalic head shape, which, too should even out with age, though l only find that in skyrim that they only seem longer but are proportional to their bodies. Her brows are fine since in Skyrim like half of the generic altmeri have the lower ridges too. lf you look here, you can see that their heads aren't that much like the scaphocephalic as you might be thinking they are.

Sorry this was a longer rant then l expected it to be >.>
And probably out of order a lot too.
l didn't mean to sound snobbish or rude but l just wanted to REALLY (you should put a lot of emphasis on that really when reading that word) get my
reasoning for her appearance.
l also love to have intellectual conversations so l got a little into this. l think l only talked to one person who brought up the word ''dolichocephalic'' in the correct tense and actually used it nonetheless. And the two of us were just waiting for our planes at the airport during our layover.

And l just decided to play Coraline as my first character because l was playing a her game when l ran across the guild and was more into her then my other characters. My other main character was a Male Bosmer Rogue (Kova - go figure amirite?) with my two side characters, a Khajiit male (named Twice Bitten, the Warrior) and another Male Bosmer but an archer/ranger named Deekin (was going to be a bard, DnD style, but that's kinda hard in TES). l also already had most of her back story but changed it a bit to be more realistic while l didn't have much other then names for my other characters. Though, playing Deekin would have been fun. But he disassociates himself from society and only protects the forests and cleanses it from evils. ln his game l never went into to town to shop or anything (the only gold he ever had was the gold he loot and mostly l said he just gave it away), l just did the main quest so he could be more heroic. His character wouldn't have fit too well in the guild though. Twice Bitten, well he was just an awesome name and awesome looking Khajiit warrior. l had nothing for his story but he was just fun to play. l had way to much of a story for Kova and at the time l was in a Dungeon for DnD that l was playing him so l wanted a place to go off and play someone else. Coraline was just a better pick in my opinion at the time. l was thinking of making another character, l was talking to Jaydine about it like two or three weeks go l think. And now l think l'd like to play Deekin. But l'll probably have to alter his story to fit the ability to actually do quests, and even then it'd be limited to what he would do because l wouldn't want to change too much.

Why'd you pick yours, might l ask?

...Why'd you pick yours, might l ask?
As complete an answer as I could have asked for.
Also not rude, eager to get your thoughts across morelike.
That's good. It is my understanding that some rationale does (or should) exist in all cases.
Saying high brow ridge, I meant high relief. That's certainly the case- they are all a bit promethian, aren't they?

In my case, I have a more than mild interest in what makes the Khajiit tick. They are some of the strangest creatures ever put into any kind of story. As you probably know already, khajiit are what they are depending upon the phases of the moon when they are born. First they are a cub as commonplace as any one cat, then they begin to grow at an alarming rate into something else. The process of their being is bound up with the lunar lattice itself, and they are attuned to that vibration. From practically first contact with elves, they became pets and slaves, and that became centuries and centuries of hard struggle for their folk, but most khajiit are culturally aware and strong of spirit.
I'm not entirely certain why they have tied our opportunities down to Suthay-Raht, it's slightly disappointing.
But Habasi is a character I've been mulling around for a while now. Started as a thief named 'Ichor-tongue', related by blood to sugar-lips habasi who lived in Balmora during the blight of the Isle. This concept came to me around four years ago or so. When skyrim came around, I was somewhat conflicted on what race to begin with, but I knew I wanted to be someone who I am certain would be able to play jack of all trades, which is my style of progression. The name 'Absalom' is Hebrew for 'Father of peace', and was the name of the third son of king David, who was ironically very violent and riotous. Galloping from an uproar pursued by his father's soldiers in Ephraim woods, his long flowing mane of hair enmeshed with the bow of an oak tree, and flinging him from horse dangled him from the branch to await his death by spears. I love that story in a morbid kind of way, because I have what a frugal person might call way too much hair. When I was making Solom, however, I noticed that his hair selection was very mane-like and bore braids in it. According to the lore, such a remaining mane shows a lack of deference to the Mane- so why should he be so damn bold? Thus the character as he stands right now, having a strong connection to each aforementioned point.

Khajiits are special to me, because they sure as hell aren't 'furries', and have a deep and unusual story to tell about what is it that a person is consisted of.

sorry for this off topic question but, how do you deal with some one who's stubborn to the point they can't even see their own mistakes?

in a rp with this specific person he accused me and yelled at me for making ONE god-like character, yet all of his characters are god-like, best example is a character of his named Comet, who upon death, destroys the whole universe... or his character Gavarent, who moves faster then the speed of light able to kill anyone in less then a second with no chance of retalitation... every time someone accuses his character of being god-like, he gets pissed off and blocks them for a couple of months... oh here's the best part... the EXACT quote he said to me... "having dragons that seem basicly impossible to bring down unless he/she falls for annother is not much fun" (yes, I do dragon role plays) he said that about a character of mine bassed of random chance of being strong or weak... (literally it's a dice roll)

anyways... I don't want to lose him as a friend... but if there's no way around this problem, then I will stop all communications with him.thank you for your time in reading this.

He's obviously immature and has no sense of god modding. I wouldn't waste my time rp'ing with someone like that but since he's your friend its pretty much your call. I've had people on gaia who I thought were friends and then when I found out they were gossiping about me behind my back to other friends I realized we weren't friends like I thought. Online friends can be interesting. My advice is drop out of the roleplay and find another one with less drama. I hate drama to an extreme. So much that anyone who causes drama in this guild will likely get the boot.

luckily this wasn't a furom rp, it was an msn rp, therefor only few got to hear my rage...and I think I'll take your advice and avoid role playing with him completely. Atleast until he fixes his characters. Though I have to say some of my characters were getting crazy as well, but that was only to give them a chance against his evil charcters, so yeah XD I'm toning EVERY character back down so that they can manage in normal role plays, with out being broken to the point they're no fun.

I forgot the internet existed.

Been really wrapped up in personal projects lately, so that's kinda why I've been inactive for the better part of 3 months.

Also, Kingdoms of Amalur: reckoning came out. It has a few technical/bug issues, but I am working on helping 38 Studios fix it, seeing what I can do and also trying to find ways to be more active, everywhere.

Apart from that....

I've missed too much.

Thanks!

Yes it has, having monday off probably had something to do with it. ^ ^

Started skyrim again today.....spent over an hour creating a character. Thought i'd make her Eliya's daughter or something. Made a Nord cause I don't like the way the Altmer look. >< Turns out that after playing for 2 hrs I still don't like her. Red hair just isn't going to work. I don't know why I can't make anyone as beautiful as my first char, lady kara. I am so vain about my characters being beautiful its not even funny. The whole trying to have red hair and it equaling pretty is not working. ugh. So yes. I will probably start over again with another character.

I on the other hand, like making my characters as ugly as possible. If they have a face that even Alduin wouldn't burn, it just makes it more accessible for Rp reasons to have a Dobahkiin that looks like he has Down Syndrome.

Think about it- Body of a man, Soul of a Dragon, face of a puddle of puke.
