Lol, whenever we bring up Harry Potter in English my teacher starts chattering about how everyone's a Jesus figure...or maybe Jesus is an archetype of a Jesus figure except he's more well-known than all the other ones so all of the archetypes are now called 'Jesus'. o__O; It gave me a headache.

Minerva- Yes, you are smile . I like him, but he's not my "fantasy man". But it's kind of funny, when me and my friend Kalena watch The Prisoner of Azkaban together (like, it's on TV or something), we both completely freak when we see Lupin. Haha we're always like "OH MY GOD! IT'S LUPIN!" She's another fangirl biggrin .
turayza- Thank you! Oh yuck, finals are coming up for me too. razz . Yeah, there was an HP weekend, but it was only the 3rd and 4th ones. I saw them both twice biggrin . Wait...what? I'M CONFUSED! Well, my dad's trying to get the church to realize that Harry Potter isn't really "non-Christian" as everyone says. I mean, they say Merry Christmas and it's all based on "turning on the light" and "fighting evil". But my church is just being indifferent, just saying that it's witchcraft, and it says clearly in the Bible that witchcraft is a sin. But it also said it's only if you DO it. Not if you ENJOY it, but not BELIEVE it. I know a chick that goes to my school that's Wiccan. I think that'd be cool to do, just for like, the look. But she actually casts spells and stuff. SHE'S commiting the sin, not the rest of us, who just WATCH witchcraft, but don't believe it's real. It's the same with homosexuality. DOING it is a sin, but hanging out with gays is not. Ugh...sometimes I really hate my church.

Remus, really? Throughout the series I've viewed him as somewhat of a minor character.
It's complicated, isn't it? There's a whole range of different beliefs, even when you're following the same sacred text.

Kineka, I don't like Remus in the films. His personality is mysterious and weird instead of the pleasant, polite person that he actually is. I blame the director, not the actor, for that since there is SO MUCH wrong with the 3rd movie. xp
turayza, Remus is a minor character compared to the Trio, but we still definitely get a good understanding of his personality just like we do with Sirius, McGonagall, and others. Remus isn't like Professor Sinistra, whom we know NOTHING aout other than the fact that she teaches Astronomy.

(UGH I HATE MY COMPUTER! I just typed a really long reply, but when I went to submit it, it came up with this rogue virus thing that I get all the time that's just trying to get me to buy WinPC, and when I said continue, it erased my whole thing! Sorry if I don't get everything back, guys!)
turayza- He is kind of a minor character, as Minerva said, compared to the Trio. But he does play a pretty sufficient role in the story, being friends with Harry's parents, being in the Order, etc. I don't think he has as much of a role as...oh let's say Sirius or Snape...but he still does play a pretty big role in the series.
Yes, it's very complicated. I don't understand why people have to make it that way. We all believe in the same God, why can't we just all realize and belief the same stuff? My mom was actually really mad at my school and fought to let them get the HP books in the library. They were never there before because they were considered "un-Christian". And she won, so that's awesome. But my kindergarten teacher yelled at her during Parent/Teacher Conferences because she was reading me HP. It's messed up, I'm telling you.
Minerva- I have to agree, I like him better in the books as well. Actually, I like the books more in general compared to the movies. The 3rd movie WAS pretty messed up. So was the 5th one. I'm hoping that the 6th and 7th ones aren't as much of a disappointment. The 6th was my favorite book, I want to make it my favorite movie too.

I found a new obsession, guys! I swear, I've been listening to this song for hours on end and I can't stop watching the video either. It's called Already Gone by Wilson Phillips (it's a cover, but it's a really good one). I think I'm becoming a fangirl...which is a little weird, since it's an all girl band. I swear, I'm not lesbian! But yeah, you should totally check it out, it's really good! And they look so gorgeous in the video...again I say, I'm not lesbian razz .

Kineka, I hate the way the new actor plays Dumbledore, and because Dumbledore is seen the most often in HBP, I'm quite nervous about the 6th film. Nonetheless, I'll be happy if they keep Luna's commentary in! biggrin
I pulled up the video on YouTube. It's not my style of music, so I didn't like it, but I agree that the girls looked nice.

Oh, they better keep Luna's commentary in! But yeah, I liked the older Dumbledore (I forgot his name, sorry). He was more like, the old, wise person that Dumbledore's supposed to be. But it's kinda sad that first the old guy that played him died, and now Dumbledore dies in the movie. So sad...I liked Dumblydore smile
Oh that's okay, I was just putting it out there. But my iPod's being really stupid right now, so I can't even download anything onto it. Every time I plug it in my computer reboots itself. It happened twice last night. UGH! And I had a bunch of new stuff I had to put on there too! My computer's dying... sad .

Yeah, that's a good point. Remus is actually very important to the series...I've been reading so much fanfiction that canon and fanfics start to bleed in together, and you don't see nearly as much about Remus as you do of other more major characters.
I think my favorite book in the series is the Goblet of Fire, if only because it was so long and filled with action XD Sadly, the movie cut out huge chunks and I was very sad about it T__T Speaking of the movie for the 6th and 7th books, I'm really excited for this summer! I can't wait to see the newest HP movie, even if it's terrible. XD
Ooh, I'll go look the music up. n.n

Kineka, I'm glad that you weren't offended that I didn't like it. I just got interested in one of Matelia's fave bands called Superchick, and you might not like them. Of course, you may like them, so you could look them up. smile Most of their songs are about encouraging teens and self-empowerment, so I like them. razz
turayza, you must not read the same fics as me. I read MWPP era, so I see LOTS of Remus! heart

turayza, it only rebooted itself because I had Internet Explorer open while I was trying to sync my iPod. But it's all good now, so that's awesome. And that WinPC thing, it's just one of those rogue anti-virus things that tells you you have viruses when you really don't, just so you'll buy their stuff. It's annoying, but at least the window is the only thing that's left. I don't have the popup thing anymore.
I, like Minerva, read a lot of Marauder's fanfiction (although I haven't read a lot lately), so I always think of Remus as an important character. It's usually either with Sirius or Remus, sometimes together. Sorry, I like slash, I hope it's not like, illegal or something. But I hate being obsessed with what everyone else is obsessed with. All my friends like Harry, I like George. See? Even with Jonas Brothers and Wilson Phillips, I like Kevin (JB) and Carnie (Wilson Phillips) more than the other members, and they're backup singers. So, Remus has always been a part of my HP lifestyle, you could say. Whenever I request a Marauder's Era oneshot or one of those personalized things, it's always either Sirius or Remus as my crush, and the other as my best friend. So, I think you get my point.
Yeah, I liked the Goblet of Fire as well, but not as much as Half Blood Prince, only because Half Blood Prince is funnier and a lot more light-hearted (quote from Emma Watson). I hated that Cedric died, he was one of my favorites. But yeah, the movie cut out way too much for my liking, same with the rest of the movies, especially Order of the Phoenix. I'm hoping they don't turn my favorite book into my least favorite movie.
Minerva, of course I'm not offended. I realize people don't like the same music I do. I've heard of Superchick, I just can't get into them...sorry! My ex-best friend used to listen to them all the time. She wanted me to, but I listened to one, and it just didn't stick. But I have a huge variety of music, my iPod goes from AFI to The Monkees, and everything in between. But, I'm really more of a Jonas Brothers fangirl, along with Paramore and Metro Station, those are my three favorite bands. But, then again, I also like the Eagles and Beach Boys. So I'm very flexible. I'll listen to it again, maybe my taste has changed over the years. I know it's changed with other artists. I used to hate Taylor Swift, now she's not so bad (although I'm listening to Love Story right now, and she's terribly flat...). But I like things that aren't expected, like Katy Perry and Britney Spears. No one expects me to like them, but I do. So, I'll listen to it, just for fun. Maybe I'll like it, you never know.
Oh and sorry for the long messages, guys. I sometimes get carried away with these topics sweatdrop

Hiya! I haven't been here in soooo looooong! But now school's out! Only, I have a stupid summer class (to graduate early), but hopefull I can come hang here more.
Remus is amazing-- he is even important to the actual story, without fanfics. ^^ Just imagine what would have happened if he hadn't been there!

Ah...yeah, that's a good point. My favorite fics are Harry no-pairings (AU) or Dramiones/Tom+Hermione (Time Travel). x3 I haven't specifically searched for those in a long time, though...usually I just narrow the search to fics that are 60k+ words and read whatever looks decent. (:
Do you guys have any MWPP era fics you'd like to recommend? I don't think I've seen a good one yet. Hrm...actually, a long time ago, I read a great Lily/James fic, but I've never seen a good Sirius or Remus-centric fanfic. (Probably just 'cause I haven't looked n.n wink

Lol, we have plenty of slash fans in here. If I remember correctly, Para is one. (: I used to really dislike slash, but there are some great fics out there with slash pairings.

I don't particularly like Draco/Hermione. I like Fred/Hermione, but not Draco...I usually see him with an OC character. I love mostly kinda fluffy, cheesy stories. I don't really like drama or those full stories that I have to wait for. Just like the Chipmunks say: "We can hardly stand the wait". But yeah, most of the ones I read are pretty cheesy. But I did write a Remus/Hermione one that I'm still debating if I should put up or not...
Haha cool! I'm listening to Hot 'n Cold right now. But it's kinda funny at the end of Ur So Gay...lol I don't want to say it, I might just get kicked out.
Oh, that's a relief. I lost a couple friends because of my slash addiction, so I kind of hoped that there were at least a couple here.
