"This world sure isn't all sunshine and rainbows, but there are people who have taught me to never give up.
They've been guiding me, and showing me all the beautiful things in the world.
I love them, and I love what they love.
We're connected by this sword. It will burn up the darkness, to make way for light!
This will be... our path...
BACK HOME!"

Eyelashes fluttered open as a being who looked divine awoke from her slumber. What she expected to await her was another slow day on the moon--perhaps some video games, and hopefully some chatting with Mei and Bronya if she was lucky.
...What she was treated to though was the wind rushing in her face as she appeared to be falling.
"...?!" Feeling the wind after years of being in a place with no natural air was quite a nostalgic feeling, but that probably shouldn't be her focus right now. She began waving her arms around frantically, eyes wide, as if her brain in its panic thought that waving her arms hard enough might result in developing the ability to fly like a bird's wings. But the ground was getting closer, and she had yet to transcend her body's inability to use her arms to at least glide. What a horrible time to be a human...
"...Oh, wait." She wasn't exactly human anymore, was she? And as her recollection flooded back to her, brilliant pink wings unfolded out from behind her, successfully keeping the goddess aloft. "...Ugh." Something about the air in the city below her really drained her spirit. How much had earth changed in her absence? ...Wait, she shouldn't be able to be here! Her panic was short-lived, though. "...This... isn't earth." She finally said after she focused on the world beneath her. She glanced to the sky, and though a celestial body rotated around this world as one did for hers, it wasn't the moon she was familiar with. "...I suppose the Finality can't hurt a world without Honkai." She muttered to herself, bringing up a hand to her chin. "But why am I...?"
"Shut up!" An angry voice below her caught her attention, as a man with a strange-looking helmet slammed the butt of his gun into what appeared to be a civilian's stomach. There were others, too--an entire battalion of the weird-helmet-wearers. The goddess above them may later come to learn that, following their departure, Shinra was now trying to reoccupy Midgar in Avalanche's continued absence. They hadn't gotten very far yet, though, and were still trying to reestablish martial law.
...And for that very goddess, seeing this obvious brutality wasn't something she'd ever choose to ignore, not now or ever. It was like a brilliant blink of a pink flash--one second she was where she had been where she was hovering, the next she was there, on the ground, blade drawn--and the infantryman collapsed. "..." Opening her eyes, they cut to the side as the other infantrymen raised their guns.
And that was all they managed.
The speed she moved with was a dazzling display, a pink trail following after her as she zipped past one infantryman after another, taking down the 20 man squadron in under a second.
Standing up straight, she turned her glowing eyes to the civilians. "Where do these people call home?" She asked severely, and one of them pointed to the large spire in the middle of the city. She glanced towards it, before turning back to them, nodding. "Get to safety." And in yet another blink of pink flash, she was gone, zipping straight towards that building in the distance.

Though that goddess-like Herrscher of Finality had descended upon the city, she hadn't been here for the last few days as Shinra began trying to reoccupy Midgar...
A young man had been in this city for months, opposing Shinra's martial law through guerilla strategies alongside two comrades he had grown up with. Though they had no way to directly oppose Shinra prior, they could make life hell for them--and that's exactly what they did. But recently, Shinra had been forced to retreat from Midgar, and he caught a glimpse of his father that day. He was unsurprised that he had a major hand in that victory, but decided against revealing himself. For now, he would remain in Midgar and keep it secure, in case Shinra returned.
And return they did. With Avalanche's apparent continued absence, they thought to reoccupy Midgar and regain their foothold, sending a small army led by a general, not the president himself who chose to remain in Junon.
And now it was his and his comrades' jobs once again to harry them relentlessly, to expend their troops for anything other than successfully reestablishing martial law--or worse, planting active charges on the plate supports again to put Avalanche back in stalemate.
That very young man had set out to disrupt the planting of such charges on the Sector 2 plate supports.
"Hurry it up." The leading infantryman told the bomb technician, glancing around warily as he had his rifle at the ready. Three more infantrymen flanked him. "Those Avalanche freaks could be here any second."
"Well, that's why we're doing this, right?" One other responded. "As if that Ex-SOLDIER and his group of weirdos wasn't bad enough, now they've got all kinds of superpowered friends helping them."
"Yeah, and they act like we're the bad guys for using underhanded tactics. Not like we can do much in a fair fight..."
"Well, it's not all bad... at least some of those off-worlders are pretty good looking, right? That pink haired-" Suddenly, all the lights in the area shut off in unison. "...Oh god, if I'm about to die, please let it be at the hands of some hot girl at least..."
"...No such luck." A voice called lowly from the darkness. Unfortunately, a man's voice.
"Wha- who's there?!" The infantrymen were all put on alert from the blackout, but especially now. They all turned on the flashlights on their rifles, waving them around frantically. First they tried to trace the voice, but they couldn't see anyone in that direction.
If there were footsteps, they were too soft to follow...
"Gah!" One of the four infantrymen dropped down to one knee, and when the others shined their light on him, they saw there was a crossbow bolt lodged into his knee.
"Hold on, I'll-!" Before finishing, the second was grabbed and yanked backwards, dropping his rifle and screaming as he was dragged into the darkness. The two still standing turned their lights quickly, but... nothing in that ********!" The captain's voice was slightly panicked, turning his light back to the one with the bolt in his knee. "I can-" ...The infantryman who had been kneeling there was gone.
"Where the hell'd he go?!"
"You think I ******** know?!"
"...Hey, is that bomb ready yet?!" The infantry turned his light to the bomb technician--only to see no one there, and an inactive bomb. "...What... do we do, captain?"
"...Back-to-back!" The two quickly assumed a back-to-back formation, waving their rifles with shaky hands to try to spot whoever could be doing this.
"...If I don't make it back, captain, I want to-" A heavy thump landed in front of him, and instinctively he let out a scream while pulling his trigger all the way back, unloading his gun. The captain turned to join his fire, hoping that between them both, they could at least hit the b*****d once and hopefully slow him down.
"...Hold your fire!" The captain stopped firing first, and pushed his follower's barrel down. The source of the thud was illuminated now, and it was the body of one of their men, seemingly but not truly dropped down from above.
"...That's- guh!" The blade of a spear pierced the last follower's chest, before being ripped back out.
"You-!" The captain turned in a full-blown panic, and for a second, an unfamiliar face was illuminated by his rifle's light. Teal hair, narrowed green eyes, and a splatter of blood across his face.
And the blood was not his own.
This face was only illuminated for a moment before the rifle was knocked out of the captain's shaking hands.
"...Gaah!!!"

...A few minutes later, the area was once again nicely lit. Five bodies strewn across the wide walkway, and standing tall was a young man with teal hair, and no-longer-narrowed green eyes. He stood there, wiping the blood from Reginleif's blade carefully. After finishing, he placed the spear in its diagonal holster on his back, before placing his now reloaded crossbow over it. "...Tough luck. If it had been my comrade, you may have been happier to die at her hand." He said in a matter of fact tone, before pulling the walkie-talkie off his belt and clicking the button. "...Epsilon here. Do you read me, Theta? Delta?"

"...Theta here." A feminine voice responded. "I'm wrapping up here, over."
"I just finished here," Constantine responded calmly. "...Delta? Do you copy?"
"...Might've forgotten the walkie again." "Theta" responded dryly.
Constantine sighed softly. "Well, we were the two with the missions. Not sure what Delta is up to."
"Might've followed one of us. Probably you." "Theta" suggested. "Either way, we're lucky they only had the manpower to send teams to two of these pillars. We're spreading ourselves thin dealing with this."
"So are they," Constantine responded confidently. "And it isn't luck. This is why we've been performing hit and runs so much the last few days. We need them spread too thin to get a foothold. Once Avalanche comes, they'll flee again."
"Roger that."
"Make sure the bomb didn't get armed before we rendezvous, and handle it. Over and out." He placed the device back on his belt, inspecting the bomb they were trying to plant once again. It was never armed, but he still needed to take care of it. Obviously, leaving it here, whether disarmed or inoperable, could only end badly.

"...Or perhaps i'm right behind you.." The familiar voice said dryly. "And for the last time, i didn't forget the walkie back then, I just didn't want to be bothered by it. There is a difference. " If she could reach into that walkie right now, she would bonk Theta over the head! To be thought of as forgetful! Of course, she wasn't really angry, maybe a tiny bit irritated, but this was clearly not the time for such silly things! " I see you've cleaned up nicely here.." She took a step towards Constantine, reaching up to brush some of the crimson blood from his face. "Careful, my savage friend..You might end up attracting more then just ShinRa scum to you with all this blood splatter.." She lowered her hand, a small smirk at her lips. "You do look cool like that, though.." Finally taking a look towards the real problem she should be much more concerned about, she glanced back at Constantine again, clearly showing her expertise in this field. She had no idea how to work with this kind of situation. "Bombs are far from my field, though, if it isn't set on some kind of trigger to go off the moment it's touched, why don't we throw it into the ocean? At least, if it does trigger down the road, no one would be harmed........" But a lot of fish would!

"...Looks like you were right, Theta." Constantine said through the device after glancing over his shoulder at the new arrival.
"So predictable. Are you two going to start making out now?"
"Yes, that was the next phase of the operation." Constantine responded in a lightly sarcastic tone.
"In that case, she should've come here."
"Too bad, looks like she's mine now." He placed the device back on his belt, turning fully towards Neptune now. "Were you expecting otherwise? I'm nothing if not efficient. Shame you missed it." He stood there, keeping steady eye contact with her as she stepped towards him, and brushed some of the blood off his face. "...I'm not sure if you're warning me about Reapers... or about you." A small smirk flashed across his features. "I'm looking forward to finding out, though." But, after a moment, he turned away at the same time she did. That would have to be left for later.
"I'm lucky enough to have listened when Hiyori explained these things to us," Constantine said, obviously poking a little fun at her. "It's not armed, and I just need to extract the explosive." He knelt down, picking up the mechanical screwdriver from the bomb technician's belt. Turning the knob to unscrew, he then proceeded to hold the trigger, initiating the screwdriver with a loud whirring noise. It was a simple matter to unscrew the four screws holding the casing shut, before ripping the casing off and tossing it aside alongside the screwdriver. "The explosives aren't large, but they are incredibly powerful, according to Hiyori. They're in a protective coating that should prevent Fire magic from detonating them. But let's try not to chance it..." He said as he peeled out the actual explosive materials, coated in some sort of pinkish fiber that hopefully would do its job. Folding the explosives, he placed them in the satchel on his belt, shooting Neptune a quick grin. "Just enough explosives to destroy this giant support pillar, hanging off my belt. What could go wrong?" At least if it did detonate, he would just die instantly! "It should be impossible for these explosives to detonate without the trigger mechanism, which is in the casing." He reached in, ripping out a black, sharp instrument. "Apparently only by touching what this is created from to the explosives will it actually combust. So when it's activated, the trigger mechanism here pierces the layer protecting the explosives, and that detonates one which then detonates the rest. So... you hold onto that." He said, holding the trigger mechanism out to her. "Best for neither of us to have both of them on our person at once."

Despite the grim out come for the very dead and bloodied infantrymen, the humor between the three certainly didn't cease, Neptune even falling into a light laughter at their teasing. "Ohh, is dear Theta a little jealous? " She said with a amused grin.
That grin remained a moment longer as she and Constantine continued their little badly timed flirting. "It is a shame, the darkness of this area took away most of that view. Not that I'm to worried, we'll have plenty more chances. ShinRa doesn't know how to give up. " As she began to brush away some of the blood from his face, a small smirk came across her features. "You sound intimidated by me.. Are you that afraid of a overly cute Angel like myself? "
As they both began to get, half serious on the matter at hand, Neptune glanced back at the deactivated bomb before her, looking at it curiously. "Heh,Hiyori would be proud of you. Look at you, Mr. Bomb-Defuser! Ah,ha...Though..I don't know about THAT. I mean, really? Do you think storing them in your satchel on your belt of all places is the best idea right now?" Deactivated or not, it wasn't a comforting feeling to have such power right there so close to his body! "I still think it should be tossed into the ocean. With my ability to fly, I could fly them out to sea and drop them to the deepest area of the ocean.." Neptune paused, as he handed her the the trigger mechanism. It was almost amusing how she feared practically nothing, yet this sent a bit of a chill down her spine! How did Hiyori ever enjoy doing the things she did? And how did she not blow up the mansion in the process? So many questions! ".......And...what should I be doing with this? Destroy it? Enough that no one could ever try to reuse it again? "

"...Jealous isn't accurate. You'll just have to miss out on knowing how good of a time I can give. We'll see if the human can satisfy you--or if you'll be crawling to me later, Delta."
"I suppose time will tell." Constantine said with a small hint of playfulness.
"A real shame... though if you were close enough to watch, you could've also helped." He pointed out, though clearly he didn't exactly need it. Still, it would've made it faster! "Oh? Is that how it sounded?" He took a small step closer to her, leaning forward a bit. "Well, once we're done knocking Shinra around between the three of us, perhaps we should spend some more time alone together. Maybe it'll be you who ends up afraid..." He smirked a moment. "The only thing I'm afraid of around you is my self control." He said, before turning away at last, to maybe focus on something a little more important... for now!
"Well, we're fortunate we arrived before they armed the bomb. I wouldn't want to try to remember how she explained to actually defuse it." He thought he WOULD be able to, but he really didn't want to test it if he could avoid it! "I can store them in my satchel or on my face, both make it equally fatal if they detonate." Yeah, if he was even in the same area as this thing if it went off it was unlikely he would be surviving. He pulled back the trigger mechanism a moment before she took it. "...Actually, I'll let you decide." He reached back into the satchel, pulling out the explosives. He held the detonation trigger in one hand, and the explosives in the other, both extended towards her and far enough apart for obvious reasons. "Either take the detonation trigger and keep it safe on your person, so we can use the explosives later ourselves if we need to--or take the explosives, and dispose of them in the sea like you wanted to. The latter option is safer, but the former gives us a very effective weapon or deterrent. I don't think we need it, but it may be nice to have--so I'll leave the choice to you." Obviously, the trigger mechanism wasn't dangerous on its own aside from a typical stabbing hazard. So if she chose to take the explosives and dispose of them with her flight, he would just dispose of the trigger mechanism himself later. Better that neither of them travel with both at one time no matter which she chose.

"Heh, you might come to be disappointed in 'later'. " She said with amusement. Hopefully she didn't wait for that time to come, or she might find herself alone and bored for a long while!
Turning back to Constantine, her playful, teasing smile continued. "Oh, now why would I want to help and ruin all the fun of watching you destroy them? I could watch you fight all day. " Of course if she thought he REALLY needed help, she wouldn't just stand around. He had everything in control this time, and worked so fast she doubted there would of been anything left the second she did try to help! His next words though, caused her grin to widen, and she placed a hand to her hip confidently. "I don't scare easily, if that is a challenge, It is a challenge I accept. " She smiled, an evil playfulness to that cute smile of hers. "I'll make it real challenging for you then.."
As their focus returned to the more important matters at hand.
" When you put it that way, I still vote for throwing them into the sea! You don't need to carry them like this. " She glanced down, wasting no time in carefully taking the explosives he had offered. "We don't need these to have leverage over them. All they need to see is the trigger device, we can easily create a mock explosive to give them a good scare with..There is enough junk in the scrap yard to form something we can use. For now, though...I'll take these out to sea. Why don't you wait at the church til I return? I would feel better if you and Theta regroup there. "

She could just barely keep her eyes open, how was it the hard wooden bench seat was so very comfortable, even in the busy city of Midgar? After her long swim from the Island where everyone still was, she realized she was already so close to the shores of Midgar and decided to pay it a much needed visit. Though really, she just wanted to make sure it was safe. And safe it seemed, as she came at the right time after everything was dealt with unknown to her. After a while of walking the city, she found a bench seat to rest her tired legs. The moment she sat down, that sleepiness she was so prone to began to catch up to her! If anyone could fall asleep sitting up, it was Azura. And surly enough, those sea-blue eyes drifted off into sleepy land..

User Image

Stalking slowly through the streets of Midgar was a young woman with pointed ears that stuck out like a sore thumb if anyone bothered looking at her. She let out occasional groans of apparent pain, glancing around her and looking rather perplexed. This may seem normal for an off-worlder, but this was... different. At last, her eyes came upon the beautiful blue-haired mermaid, who might not be catching up on that beauty sleep of hers. Not that she needed it. "...You must be." She said breathlessly, reaching down to grip her by the collar of her dress, lift her to her feet, and press her lips against Azura's. Wait, what?
The forced kiss only lasted a moment before the dark-haired elf would pull back. Her eyes darted around a bit, and then she grunted, baring her teeth as she suddenly seemed so very angry. "Not shocking enough? Fine." She shoved Azura back down onto the bench, before drawing her katana in a sudden flourish. "We'll do this the hard way!" She shouted as her dark hair blazed to silver, and her eyes turned red, bringing the katana down towards her--and carving the bench in half where she once sat assuming she managed to dodge.

Solaris

User Image

It wasn't too far from the mansion, the scene of the unfortunate mermaid being victimized by... someone too familiar. "Aunt Astrid?" Solaris said under her breath as she saw the aggressor. It was fortunate the screams were only from panicked citizens--she hadn't actually hurt anyone yet. But knowing her skill, Azura might not be able to fend her off long. "Neptune, I'll try to talk to her, but in this form she isn't exactly reasonable. Do you have anything that can incapacitate her safely or at least restrain her?" She turned back forward, taking an aggressive step forward and kicking one half of the destroyed bench with enough force to launch it towards Astrid.
Just as she was about to continue her attack, her eyes cut tot the side, and in the next instant she cleaved the projectile in half (again) allowing it to continue to fly past her--and right behind it was Solaris, whose spear was barely blocked. "...Alisa?" Astrid asked, seeming bewildered.
"...Not...quite." Solaris responded, uncertain how to answer. "I'm from the Forest Kingdom, Princess Astrid. You aren't in your right mind--let me help you!"
"You're a fool if you think showing me someone who looks like my sister will make me more susceptible to your illusions!" Astrid said through gritted teeth, shoving Solaris back from the clash before delivering a precise stab towards her shoulder.
Solaris narrowed her eyes, baring her own teeth as she narrowly dodged the stab, using the tiny window of opportunity to grab Astrid's arm and turn to flip her over her body and slam her on the ground. She quickly tried to restrain her. "Neptune--any time now!" She let out a grunt as Astrid's wings shot out of her back, enough force behind them to force her away and rolling in the dirt for a moment.
Her black raven wings flapped to pick her off the ground, before she reared her katana back, apparently intending to hurl it directly at Neptune!
But Solaris was quick enough on her feet that she managed to grab Astrid into a full nelson, using whatever advantage she had in strength to keep her aunt restrained long enough that they could either calm her down or incapacitate her.
