___ ___ _________ ___ ___ "I know I must place my duty as a commander above my life as a man. And once I am crowned, I most certainly will do exactly that. However, I am not ready to divorce myself from my compassion just yet. I will find the balance somehow, the means to save my country and her people. That is the king I wish to become, and so that is the man I must be." "If that would be more comfortable for you." Ephraim wasn't exactly picky on the destination, and given Azura was having an issue here, extra steps should be taken to ensure her own comfort. As he turned to make his way towards where he vaguely recalled the church's location, though, a figure dropped down in front of him. "?" Had he not been delicately carrying a mermaid who had to be carried in such a delicate manner to not drop the garment draped over her, the person in front of him may have been given an unwelcome reaction at dropping in so suddenly. He recognized him though, so it wasn't exactly cause for alarm, he assumed. Ephraim grunted slightly as he felt himself shoved back, causing him only to stumble slightly. ...Kaden was probably hoping for more than a slight stumble when he shoved him as hard as he could, but that wasn't exactly important, as the mermaid had changed hands in that moment as Kaden deftly took her from Ephraim, before, zipping up into the air with one of his impressive jumps. His jumping ability in human form was comparable to that of a Dragoon. "..." Well, that was strange. But he knew the two were close, so Kaden obviously didn't have ill intentions. If Ephraim had to guess, Kaden might have thought HE had ill intentions given Azura's "helplessness" in this form, and Ephraim supposed he couldn't blame the boy for being paranoid. He was obviously overprotective. "...You're welcome for the cape." Hopefully that would be returned to him eventually...Landing deftly on a rather high roof, Kaden held Azura, shaking his head. "Are you all right? I shouldn't have let this happen. Ughh, I try so hard to prevent anyone from exposing your form. I know you hate people seeing it... I hope that guy wasn't... going to try something. I don't know if I can trust him." Poor Ephraim. Just like in his own world, he really couldn't catch a break with people's perception of him. "Do you need me to take you to a sea? Or stay here? What do you need?" Classic Kaden, being hardcore overprotective over Azura, just like he was with Teresa. He was protective of Lilith as well, but he seemed to go overboard with Azura and Teresa.Regardless, even though it wasn't exactly polite, Kaden taking care of Azura allowed Ephraim to go help in the situation with the destroyed building. There were casualties, but he did what he could to help anyone who had been trapped beneath the rubble, or support beams, or whatever else. There were already other people trying to help too, so he wasn't some solitary hero saving the day, just another person trying to help. Though he did soon come upon the unconscious goddess. He did have to give Azura credit, she did manage to knock her unconscious. Regardless of their issues in the past, though, he didn't think Cosmos was someone with truly evil intentions, so this was hardly the time to try to finish her off. On the contrary, he leaned down, lifting up her very light body and placing her atop a nearby countertop in the destroyed building. He wiped off the rubble that had clung to her form, and he used his hand to apply pressure on her wound to try to stop her from bleeding too much. Did it matter? She was a goddess, he doubted she could die by something like blood loss. But he didn't know she couldn't, so better not to take chances. Leaning his head down, he pressed the side of his head against her chest, listening for a heartbeat. And indeed, there was one. She shouldn't be at risk of death in that case, and didn't need chest compressions. Thankfully so, because he would have felt VERY awkward trying to give her chest compressions. Regardless, he needed to keep pressure on her wound, and if he could do that without having to keep his hand on her, he would move on to relocating her somewhere a bit more comfortable until she awoke. "..If you will please keep this a secret from the others, I would be grateful.." Though that part might be difficult if rumors around the city started to spread. But for now, what could be avoided would be all she had. It was a process, Azura certainly was far from perfect! She had her odd quirks, and that was her lack of self-confidence in her mermaid form. Before her thoughts could go any further, though, a certain figure caught her now surprised blue eyes as he dropped down so suddenly in front of them. Even Azura didn't sense him near by, though there were a lot of things on her mind to distract her well enough. In the next moment, it happened faster then she could process,as she found herself now in Kaden's arms. This was some kind of test on her heart, wasn't it? A test of her mind, too! But mostly, her silly heart. "...I'm sorry...! " She said into Ephraim's mind. She didn't want him to have to just ..leave without her saying anything appreciative to his kind actions. She would have to return his cape, too.. Finally, her growing red face turned to look up at Kaden as he held her, this so called test of her heart was starting to make more sense, she could practically feel it with her slowly rapidly increasing heart rate. And that was just from him holding her! Yes, she really was a silly mermaid princess. "No, no. It isn't your fault! ...The blame is all on me. If I hadn't provoked her earlier....this may never of happened..." Though she did provoke her for a reason, in hope of getting Sephriea back, but apparently that wasn't going to happen right now.Shaking her head softly at his next comment, she raised her arm to settle over his shoulders, she should probably try to enjoy these few moments with him, knowing they never lasted long. He wasn't exactly one to stay in one place for long! "Ephraim would never do anything like that..I can tell that much about him, he did help me several times. You can trust him, Kaden.." She said with a small smile. It was really cute, his over protectiveness was something she loved about him. "..No, I'll be okay. I should..be back to normal soon.." Ephraim may not of expected Cosmos's eyes to suddenly open as quickly as they did, or for her...to suddenly shove him right off of her. It was as if he was the plague, touching her, even though that touch was all innocent and in his attempt to stop her bleeding! Ephraim was not having a lot of luck with his attempts to help people today, his second shove for doing a good deed! Poor guy. "Ugh...You dare look down on me with those pitiful eyes?? ...I was NOT defeated! She didn't ----!' The cringe and winch of pain might of said otherwise. Ah, how the tables had turned. It was now Cosmos to face the humiliation. "...You should die...She should die...You both should be put into a shallow grave.." Kind words, for someone who was just attempting to save her life! Not that she really needed any form of saving.

___ ___ _________ ___ ___ "I know I must place my duty as a commander above my life as a man. And once I am crowned, I most certainly will do exactly that. However, I am not ready to divorce myself from my compassion just yet. I will find the balance somehow, the means to save my country and her people. That is the king I wish to become, and so that is the man I must be." For the second time in the past half hour Ephraim felt himself shoved, though much to Kaden's dismay had he seen, this shove was much more successful, as Ephraim was shoved straight off his feet and down to the ground. Yeah, Cosmos was VERY strong. That was kinda her area of divinity. "Would you just-" Ephraim let out an irritated noise as he stood back up, walking back over to her. He grabbed her by the wrists, pushing them down onto the counter to try to hold her firmly in place, looking down at her seriously. Given her strength, it was unlikely he could keep her restrained, but hopefully he'd get her to calm down. "Stop straining yourself, you'll make the pain worse. Try to kill me later if you have to, but until you've healed, do as I say." He was used to dealing with subordinates in situations like these--she was a lot more disobedient. Hopefully, she would fall in line, at least for the moment. He released her wrists, reapplying his hand on her wound. "I know it isn't comfortable, but keep pressure. If you lose too much blood, you'll lose consciousness, too." As someone who led a brutal military campaign against the most powerful military in his world along with monsters, Ephraim had enough experience to calmly give directions about wounds. He and his comrades had taken a great many hits during the long war. Avoiding all damage in a warzone was basically impossible--it was a testament to his tactics and his as well as his comrades' abilities that so many of them had survived. "Will you let it go? If you want revenge, you can have it after you're at 100%. I'd gladly fight you again." Even if he lost, fighting a goddess of war was an invaluable experience. "Now, if you'll keep pressure on your wound, I can carry you to a healer. That would be the quickest way to handle this, if you're comfortable with it. Otherwise, I can try to dress the wound myself with what I have." She likely didn't actually need the help, but he didn't want to just assume she'd be fine as she was. She was obviously too prideful to ask for help if she needed it, so he would offer it. It would be easier to put himself out there than it would be to get her to admit she needed help, if she did. "I'm asking you to let me help you. I'll owe you." Maybe that would allow her to retain her pride while he helped her, if she did need it."It's my job to protect you and Teresa. When something like this happens, it's obviously my fault. I don't know if I could beat a goddess of war, but I do know I could've prevented you from transforming." They both seemed to have a transformation they didn't like others to know about. Kaden's was just a bit more monstrous in behavior. "...I should be the one helping you, not him. Besides, I know the way he was looking at you. Every guy you meet, and some girls--they all look at you like that. I hate it." While Ephraim did find her mermaid form attractive, it wasn't quite as sinister as Kaden had made it up to be in his head. "Even Alisa looks at you like that. So much lust. Ugh... you deserve better than that." It was funny that he didn't look at her like that, since he was one of the only ones she might have wanted to look at her like that. "I hope one day you find somebody who cares more about what's on the inside than the outside." What a sensitive soul Kaden must have been. (( OOC: ))

One would think, having someone show some genuine concern over her health would be a sweet thing, something to be appreciated. But in Cosmos's world, it was a insult. Not just some random Serenitian, but a human of all things, a human who was far to brave and trusting of a very unpredictable goddess. "Shut up...your kindness hurts more then this damn wound.." She sneered at him, his attempt to restrain her didn't quite go as planned, and instead, she would grab his wrists and hold them firmly away from her, just enough to get the point across not to touch her. She didn't...grant him that permission this time, it was hardly a playful, teasing moment anymore as there last meeting was. "I'm a Goddess. Do you really think this wound is going to kill me? Do you think that mermaid could REALLY kill me? It's insulting you even think I am in need of medial help. I will heal on my own.." As she said this, he might start to notice how the bleeding was coming to an end, and the wound closing up as it rapidly started to heal. "...You should show more respect.Don't you see how concerned he is for you? That's...so..ungrateful! So mean! " Who ever could that voice belong to? ...Someone Ephraim didn't know yet, luckily enough. La'riah wasn't usually one to speak out when it came to an enemy near by, but still, it pained her to just sit back while someone so ungrateful talked to her oblivious father that way. It just seemed so cruel! "...Please thank him for his help! " "......Oh god. Yoou..." She really couldn't stand SUPER kind people, it was such a sickening softness that turned her stomach. "Shoo...little insect.." She waved her off, completely ignoring the girl from now on, as she turned back to Ephraim. .
"....Why do you think it's your job to protect us? ...I mean...I understand the need to protect Teresa...but why me? I'm not one of your sisters..I..I'm just the one who was taken in by your family.." She didn't mean it to sound so bad, she obviously was happy to be a part of the family, but there was a problem that kept bothering her about that very thing. "....I honestly don't think what she so humiliatingly did could have been prevented, no matter how great your magic is. " She was a Goddess, with to much power. "..? " Azura fell into a brief silence as she listened to what he had to say, and for a moment, she felt a little hope at what he said. He was bothered by how everyone looked at her? ...and he hated it? ...."....I think..maybe you are worrying to much? Um.." She blushed, looking at him in the eyes, as if to try and find her answers there that he might try to be hiding. "...Have you been following me? How would you know how they look at me? " Uh ohs. "..No, it's not possible..There is only one person I love...I've loved him all my life.." Her eyes softened as she continued to gaze into his eyes.. "He doesn't know it yet,though...but I will wait...I've waited this long.." Would he get her dropped hints? ...probably not. Kaden was so innocent, and such a gentleman, he may never catch what she was trying to do.

___ ___ _________ ___ ___ "I know I must place my duty as a commander above my life as a man. And once I am crowned, I most certainly will do exactly that. However, I am not ready to divorce myself from my compassion just yet. I will find the balance somehow, the means to save my country and her people. That is the king I wish to become, and so that is the man I must be." "It's not kindness. I'm far from just altruistic. I want you at your best for when we do fight. If you don't provide me with a challenge, you'll just be wasting my time." Maybe that would make her feel a little more receptive. It wasn't entirely inaccurate--he wasn't just doing this for some altruistic purpose. The reason he gave wasn't entirely accurate either, but it wasn't just some overflowing goodness of his heart. "...Right." He took a step back as she began to heal. He had expected as much. Still... it wasn't good to simply assume. Assumptions led to ordeals like what happened with Alisa recently. "I didn't think it would kill you. It would have been easy to assume my help wasn't required. But if you did need help, and I assumed wrong, it wouldn't have sat well with me. I realize you're capable, Cosmos, but goddess or not, a life without cooperation seems a lonely one. You don't have to be tough all the time. I respect your strength--you're far stronger than I am physically. If every person in Avalanche teamed up to arm wrestle you, you'd break the table with our hands. You don't have to prove yourself. We all know you're strong. But no one can do everything. A person can be strong, but one person will never be more capable than people. Leaning on others who can cover your shortcomings, or help with what you're capable of, will always be more efficient than trying to do everything on your own. Isn't that why you spared Nero during the war between gods? ...Alisa told me a bit about it. It's obvious you're more powerful than Nero, but he does have things you lack. And I assume you enjoy his company to some extent. An "Omnigod" would be an incredibly powerful, and incredibly lonely being. I'm sure you understood that too. ...My point is... you shouldn't push others away because you think yourself superior. By all rights, you are superior to me. You're stronger, and you've lived far longer--I'm sure you've fought much more, too. You'll still be alive long after I'm gone as well. But there are things I can do that you can't. That doesn't make me better than you. It makes us different. And that isn't a bad thing." ...Well, he didn't expect to give some grandiose lecture, but... looking at Cosmos, the way she seemed to be descending and pushing everyone away from her... he couldn't help but think about Lyon. More than once, he considered the idea that Lyon could have been saved if someone--anyone--had extended their arm out for support. ...Especially Ephraim himself. He was too selfish at the time, and because of that, more than one person had gone down a dark path that they couldn't come back from. And Ephraim ended their lives. If he could do anything to keep that fate from coming to Cosmos, it would be wrong of him not to at least try. Glancing at La'riah, he raised an eyebrow for a moment. What a coincidence... "It's not worth concerning yourself over, La'riah. She doesn't have to be grateful, nor does she have to thank me. She didn't ask for my help. Besides, it takes a lot more than that to offend me. I appreciate your desire to help, but she's under no obligation to be thankful." In a way, he could understand her pride-fueled irritation. Kyle had tried to be helpful to him in a way that had irritated him as well, so it wasn't like he had no experience in that field. ...Wait, did he just call her by her name? It happened so naturally, she might not even notice it, being her father and all. "I believe this belongs to you." Ephraim raised a familiar-looking ornament--oh yes, she'd certainly recognize it. "I assume this is what you came here to collect." She was probably in the area to get it before they took the tree down, then all this commotion happened. "...You're Reiner's sister, aren't you? You don't need to explain anything. We'll talk later." His suspicions of Reiner after what had happened with Lily were nearly confirmed after he happened to see La'riah putting up her ornament, and upon closer inspection... it was rather obvious what the ornament represented."What? You've been with us since we were kids. You're family to me just like Teresa is. Or do you not consider us family?" He was trying to be comforting with his words, but it was obviously not what she wanted to hear. He didn't realize that though, clearly. "I... don't blame you. I know we can't replace your real family. I just want you to know, Teresa, Lilith, and I--we all see you as part of our family, blood-relation be damned. Even between the three of us, we're not all full-blood siblings. So it's not strange for us at all!" A bit different of a situation, but yes... "I do follow you occasionally, but I mean, I try not to invade your privacy too much. I just worry about you. I know you're prone to... dangerous situations." No single person he knew got into more trouble than she did, whether or not the trouble was her fault. "Oh, really? I didn't know you had feelings for anyone. I just hope he treats you well. I'd rather not think of someone who just lusts after you getting what they want. You've loved them all your life, too? I'm surprised I don't know who it is... Aeon? No, I don't think you met him when you were that young. Must be someone from the Frozen Kingdom then, right? One of the butlers? Oh! Is it Sven? Or, wait, I think he's into other guys. Reflet?" ...Kaden would probably guess literally every breathing male in the kingdom, and every other kingdom, and this world, before himself. (( OOC: ))

It's not that..You are family to me. You all are, nothing would ever change that." Though when it came to Kaden, her idea of being family was a little different, or at least, she wished it could be how she always wished. As she listened to his continued words, though, she was starting to see the hard way that her dream was never going to come true, his view of her was like that of a sister, clearly he didn't have any interest in her in the way she wanted. Still, she kept up her fake smile. "You don't need to worry about me. I can handle myself alone..I always do, and as for those dangerous situations..I've handled most if not all of them on my own too. Stay here in Midgar, where your other more needing family is..Okay? " As her human form returned the moment she was dry enough, she let herself down from his arms, taking a step back so she wasn't so close..he probably wouldn't be very comfortable with her that close to him." ..Actually..Let's not talk about that after all.." With all the realization hitting her, it would only make her feel worse ."I should go.." She paused. ". .To recharge.." That was her own little joke, going off to sea when she was weak in this human form, but it really wasn't quite true. Not that he would know, or suspect it at all. She just needed to get away, for more reason then just her feelings being crushed. " I did use a lot of power against Cosmos..." It was a good excuse, at least. That much was true. That same fake smile returned, as she parted ways with Kaden. Lucky for her there was a fire escape with stairs, or her escape from this situation might be a little more difficult.
"Aren't you funny.." She knew he wasn't trying to be, though to her it was, but also a little insulting too! "I will have you regret those words come that day. " Did he think she, a goddess with far to much power then she needed to have, given her mental state, would not be a challenge for him? "Don't hold yourself to high over your one victory at that arena. That was hardly a workout. I could have beaten you easily, I think you know that too. " "....What is with this lecture? I'm starting to get bored. " She sighed heavily, as if it was just the most terrible thing, to listen to someone speak so genuinely. "With my power, I don't -need- anyone else, I don't need someone to get in my way, and I most certainly don't need help." She was extremely stubborn, as he already knew. It was no easy task to have her change anything about herself, or how she handled things. Another sigh escaped as she waved her hand, La'riah was teleported else where in the city before she could get another word out. "I really am not a fan of people. Be it Serenitians or demons, everyone irritates me.So you see, aside from Nero, I'm better off exactly as I am. I am not looking for companionship. That will only cost me greedy fools, begging for things as if I could make everything perfect in their lives..." Gold, Gil, any form of currency to any off worlder was the most begged for item the second anyone found out what she was.

Alisa "Whoa!" Alisa crashed suddenly into the quickly fleeing mermaid, proving that Azura's luck really was nonexistent when it came to wanting to avoid people. Alisa's hands instinctively clamped onto the mermaid's shoulders quickly enough to keep her from falling over. "Where's the fire? You seem in a hurry." She released her vice grip on her shoulders, tilting her head. "...Mmm? Wait..." She knew that look. "You... look like you need someone to talk to. Luckily, my schedule's open. I was gonna meet Ephraim for, uh... well... anyway, that doesn't matter." She really spent a lot of time with Ephraim, didn't she? Saying that out loud just made her realize it. Hence why she didn't finish her thought. "He's busy anyway. So, come on, let's talk. We never really get a chance to talk, and I'm not taking no for an answer! I'll tie you up if I need to." Azura was really being ping-ponged between people today, wasn't she? Taking Azura by the hand, Alisa began to walk her away from the relatively crowded area. "Come on! We should find somewhere more isolated." What Azura was feeling right now--Alisa knew that pain very well. She didn't want Azura to have to sit and dwell on it alone like she did. It could... lead to some dark thoughts. When someone was having love pain, what they really needed was a friend. And Alisa was more than happy to be that friend."It would be overconfident of me to assume I could beat you ten times out of ten. But you'll have to prove it to me the next time we fight. I look forward to seeing if your bite is as strong as your bark." Obviously he knew he hadn't seen her completely serious, but a win was a win. As far as Ephraim was concerned, if his foe was sick and depressed, that just gave him an easier win. As someone with a tactical mind, he'd use whatever edge he needed to ensure his victory. ...Within reason. He wouldn't kill innocent people for it if he could avoid it, obviously. But underhanded tactics were something he was more than comfortable employing. "...I am a king. You expect me to come begging you for money? Or... whatever else you expect? The most you'd have to worry about with me is a challenge to battle. Which I feel you wouldn't mind as much." He crossed his arms. "It's true, mortals do want petty things, and many beg their gods to offer it with no strings attached. No work on their end. If you judge everyone in a group so narrowly, though, you miss the bigger picture. In my world, as I'm sure you've probed my mind to learn, demons infested the continent I call home, Magvel. They were a blight, servants of the evil Demon King, who I slew with the help of my allies. But in this world, there's a demon who opposes evil and wants to fight for what most would consider the right cause. If I judged him based only on what he was, I would miss who he actually was. ...Why am I lecturing you so much? I apologize. I just... don't want you to fall too far into the dark. I'm certain you know about Lyon, don't you? If I had done more for him, he might not have... and I guess I'm projecting those feelings onto you now. I apologize for that. Truthfully, you've been alive and... mostly sane for thousands of years, haven't you? It's presumptuous of me to show concern of you, or your mental state. It's difficult for a mortal like me to comprehend everything you've been through, so many years of living. Just like Myrrh..." Uncrossing his arms, he sighed, taking a step back. "I'll leave you be, then. I hope you don't think it too forward of me to show concern for you. I do want to say, if you ever feel the desire to speak to someone, you can find me. I'm not the best conversationalist, as I'm sure you can tell, but I will help if I am able. Even if all you need is for someone to listen." He nodded to her. "So long, then. Perhaps when next we meet, we'll finally have that rematch. ...I hope you have a pleasant day, Cosmos." Really, he'd love to have that rematch right now, but... he supposed she might not be too into that idea. Turning away now, Ephraim made his way out of the battered building, leaving Cosmos before he launched into another impromptu lecture. These lectures were rather unlike him, but... he had mentioned why already. (( OOC: ))

Ah!" Azura felt herself stumble back upon the unintentional impact with a certain blonde elf, only to be stopped before she could fully fall back in yet another embarrassing scene. It was starting to seem like she had been cursed by a Reaper to have forever bad luck! It wouldn't be an easy task to distance herself from Alisa, who almost instantly went into talkative mode. Not a bad thing, of course. She was always one to help everyone she could, but this was one time Azura didn't want any form of help or company. "...I'm sorry..for that.." Running into her was not part of her plan of escape. "..What are you talking about? ...I was on my way to the sea...I'm almost out of time here...on land." There really was no way for Alisa to know she wasn't entirely truthful since it was something she had to do every day. "I have nothing to talk about, you know. I've never had anything very interesting to speak of. " That was kind of true, Azura wasn't the most entertaining source, or extremely social. That was no lie. Before Alisa could try to take her by the hand, she would realize there was no hand to grab as she moved it back in that moment! "If you want to talk to me about something, let's do it on the way to the water.." She could at least listen to Alisa's problems, if she needed to talk, but as for herself, she wouldn't be speaking about what troubled her. Stepping past her now, she started to walk for the exit of the city.
"You must have a strong death wish. You do realize, If I battle you seriously, at one hundred percent, you wouldn't stand a chance? It is no guessing game, I will win." Cosmos let out a small, annoyed sigh as he began to speak. Giving him his time to finish, the irritated Goddess surprisingly didn't just shut him up, or leave in the middle of his lecture. "You may never REALLY beat me in a battle, though you do know just what to say, don't you? I'll give you that credit. As annoying as it is. Still, you should have guessed by now, my judgement isn't what most people would agree with, and it doesn't change. As far as I am concerned, the demon in this world could change at any given moment, he could be swayed to join his father. Pushed the right way, and that demon who once did the right thing, can quickly change. I will never fully trust any demon, or anyone with dark tendencies and weak minds. Like Sephriea, even others you've enjoyed the company of, Serenitians, they are not immune to their weaknesses. I think even you would find yourself surprised. " She paused a moment before continuing. "My methods may come off as dark to you, but that is hardly true. I do what I have to, regardless of what others may like. You have no reason to be concerned over me.." What a strange thing, a human showing concern over her. This could take some getting used to.. "Your friend Lyon was to far gone to be helped, even by you. I would stop blaming yourself." That could be the only 'nice' thing she had said this whole time, giving him that tiny comfort that it wasn't his fault. "..Heh...You say that, though you might be surprised to know you are the better conversationalist here. " She didn't spend a lot of time talking to people! "..Very well..I'll be seeing you again...." As he turned away to leave, she would make her exit as well, leaving the scene as if she was never there.

Alisa "Don't apologize to me," Alisa flicked her playfully on the forehead. "We're friends, don't get all proper on me. You should be like, "next time stay out of my way, you disgusting frolicking elf!" or something like that. And then I'd be like, "go back to your saltwater pond you sea urchin!" while shaking my fist. It'll be funny, everyone around us will think we hate each other, but only we'll know the truth." ...Alisa was a bit bizarre, wasn't she. She was certainly quite casual for a princess, and outspoken. She and Lissa would get along. "Uh huh." Alisa gave her an incredulous look. "You know, I realize I'm blonde, but I'm not as dumb as you may think. When you need to return to the sea desperately, your skin turns a bit whiter and you blink more rapidly than normal. I think you also sweat more than usual. If I had to guess, the pigment in your skin is reacting to the..." She paused, was she really going to go on about mermaid biology? She didn't want Azura to think she was a nerd. "...U-uh, I dunno! Who knows why it happens! The magic of Serenitians!" Alisa was clearly more intelligent and more observant than most people thought, given she was able to notice things like that which Kaden hadn't even noticed. Azura herself might not have even realized it. "No? Well, I have a lot to talk about. I love talking! Just an annoying blonde elf yapping her mouth away all day! Eventually you'll feel either guilty or irritated that I'm doing all the talking, and you'll have to participate. I'll play the long game here!" She was pretty transparent about her intentions, wasn't she? As Azura moved her hand back as though Alisa's touch meant death, Alisa pouted. When she began to walk ahead of her, Alisa quickly walked to join her, and Azura would feel Alisa's arm hook into hers, pulling a bit to irritate her slightly. "You know, I don't have some deadly illness that transmits through touch! Are you scared that I'll give you the gay if you touch me? That's not how it works, don't worry!" She grinned. "But if I start to look more and more attractive to you the longer we touch, do let me know. Maybe I don't know my own power!" She winked playfully. She was getting excited, she was finally going to get to hang out with Azura! She had always admired her--Alisa thought Azura was the strongest woman she had ever seen. Not in terms of combat abilities, though she was capable there too--Alisa loved how strong she was in her actions, her character, on the inside. It was a little intimidating, really--she seemed so no-nonsense, and Alisa was pretty nonsense a lot of the time. But she had always wanted to be friends with her. She just needed to not mess this up! (( OOC: ))

Anyone else brave enough to flick the mermaid on the forehead might of gotten a irritated stare, but not Alisa, it seemed as she kind of just brushed it off. "Sorry." She said again, this time with a tone of sarcasm! Her next words must have had some silent enchantment spell on them, to cause Azura to giggle when she felt so bad! It was no easy task to get her to laugh when she was upset about something. "Yes..I think I will pass on that one.." She had no intentions to let other people think they hated each other, even if Alisa thought it might be funny! "...Should I ask how it is that you know so much? ..Anyway, It's not quite that desperate just yet..I like to get close to the water before it gets to that point! " "You would be surprised, I can go days, weeks, months without talking to anyone, before I started to become more comfortable on land, I didn't exactly have anyone to talk to at sea. So, if you are challenging me, you might find that this is something you will definitely lose against me on! " Especially since Alisa loved to talk, and well, Azura wasn't that social. It was an easy win! As she began to walk ahead, there came Alisa, coming quickly up beside her and showing how much she hated to lose, by locking her arm with hers."..I just didn't want you to try to make me go elsewhere, you know, you are the most pushiest person I know! " She really was! Not that it was a bad thing, it was just Alisa's way. Her last words brought a small, amused smile to her face as they would now walk together on her way to leave the city. Alisa was like a little crab, latched onto her with no intention of letting go. It was pretty funny. "I'll keep that in mind, little crab.."

Alisa "Oh, the sarcasm!" Alisa grinned. "You're so cute when you get all sarcastic! You're so pretty and proper, yet so sassy. I love it. I need to get on your bad side sometime just so I can be the victim of one of your sarcastic tongue-lashings." She sounded like some kind of fangirl, but really, Azura's personality was so interesting and fun to her. She couldn't help it. "Oh! A giggle! I win!" Alisa threw her arms around her shoulders in an impromptu hug. Who knew what she thought she won, but the real question was, how long could Azura handle her pushy, bubbly friendliness before it became too much. "You're so cute when you giggle like that!" Releasing the hug just as quickly as it had come, Alisa put a finger to her chin. "I guess you're just always cute, because I keep saying you're cute at everything you're doing. Congrats! Most people don't get to be cute 24/7!" It's funny she loved Azura's sarcasm so much when she herself became very dry sarcastic when someone irritated her. Both Ephraim and Cloud had experienced that. She wasn't very princessy in those moments. Or most moments, really. "What, isn't it common knowledge? Uh, well... my dad was always really good at reading people, really observant. That's what I've been told, anyway, and I hear all the time I'm just like him. As flattering as it is though, I doubt it. My father was a wonderful person, and I'm not exactly nice and ladylike most of the time." "Most of the time". Funny. Alisa was Alisa. That was about the best way to describe her. Though as for how similar she was to Aemon, her father--she was much more similar than she believed. "OH, is that so?" And here came back her chipper self. "You dare challenge me?! I never lose! Well, except all those times I lost to Carmen, but that-that doesn't count! Well, there was also that one time... and I guess also... a-anyway, I never lose starting now!" Wow, she sure was fearsome. If anyone knew how to sell their own abilities, it was definitely Alisa. "You silly fish, you will rue the day you crossed this elf. I eat fish like you for breakfast! ...Actually, I've never had fish. I forgot that's something people actually do eat..." Man, her trash talk game was unmatched. "...Uh... you're going down! Wait, you always go down--into the ocean. You're a fish." She put a hand to her chin. "Trash talking is harder than I thought." Maybe moments like these were why people didn't consider Alisa very intelligent... "You think I'm pushy now, just wait! I'll push you around all day! Passive little minnow!" Was she still trying to trash talk, or... "I do know a really pretty spot no one else ever goes to. It would be perfect for a nice little chat. I think there's a river there too. Are rivers too shallow for mermaids? I dunno... maybe there's a pond nearby." She must have thought she was so helpful. "Ha! I'll take that as a compliment, because crabs are cute! You think I'm cute, admit it!" She reached over with her free arm, giving her a little pinch on the cheek, holding her hand as though it was a crab's pincers. "That's right, I'm not letting go. You get the great honor of being my prisoner for the rest of the day. Lucky you!" Yes, who wouldn't love to be in her presence for an extended period of time. She wasn't annoying at all!
After a few moments, Alisa glanced around, noticing there were less people around them the closer they got to a city exit. "...So... speaking of my father--and, if you'd rather not talk about it, I totally understand--he used to talk about your parents a lot." This might come as a surprise to Azura, depending on how much she remembered about her own kingdom. "My dad died when I was young, but I still remember him telling me stories. My mother was the High Princess of our kingdom, like I am now, and my dad was "just" a peasant for a long time, one who went on a lot of travels during his youth. He was a lot more worldly than most royals, probably because he wasn't a royal for most of his life. He talked about all the kingdoms, but the people he spoke of most were the rulers of the Ocean Kingdom. According to my dad--and this is probably BS, I'm sure he embellished a lot--he introduced your dad to your mom. Again, probably complete bull. But he talked about your parents so kindly. It seemed, I mean, I felt like they were best friends. Which is so strange, because they were in the ocean and he was on land. I don't... know the specifics. He says he visited your kingdom once. I know a lot of royals and nobles of other kingdoms look down on your people because, I don't know, they were "trapped" in the ocean, but my dad was always so open-minded. He thought every ocean Serenitian was beautiful. Maybe thaat's why even the royals took so kindly to this, at-the-time, random elf peasant. I used to dream of going to visit your kingdom one day--I wanted to go with him and meet your parents and their children. And... I can't do that now, of course. We've lost a lot, but I... I wanted to say that, you're alive, and that's a miracle. They're still here because of you. I know that's not the most comforting thing, but I wanted to meet you for so long, I wanted to talk to you because of how much he used to talk about them. There's never been a good chance, and obviously my mother didn't want me going to visit you in the Frozen Kingdom. She's a bit xenophobic. It means a lot to me that we can spend time together now. Even if we're just talking about nothing. That's what my dad said he loved most when I asked him, about your parents. It would just be the three of them, when there was time, talking about absolutely nothing for hours. I'm sure that sounds boring to a lot of people, but it meant so much to me." She let out a deep breath. Well, that was a lot of talking. There you have it, classic Alisa never shutting up. "Anyway! I just wanted to get that off my chest. I've wanted to tell you about it for... YEARS, but there just was never a good time. I just think, even though they're gone, we're here. And that's... it means something. Sorry, I'm not trying to sound all deep and significant here! I just think about it a lot." Alisa was certainly a lot more than what was on the surface. She seemed ditzy and bubbly and nothing else, but she was surprisingly thoughtful and reflective. She gave things like this a lot of thought when she was left alone with herself. (( OOC: ))

Alisa was quite the elf-of-joy, unknowingly bringing a little light in the world with her silly, bubbly nature. At least, she had that affect on Azura, who was trying to sulk and throw herself into a lonely inhabited place to become a hermit! It was the only way she knew how to comfort herself, as strange as that was. "You may be the first person to enjoy that side of me.." She said with a tint of red to her face, which only grew a bit deeper when she suddenly hugged her, the amount of affection and happiness from Alisa was something most may of envied.Though even Azura knew not all of those smiles were entirely true. It was an easy way to hide her true pain, it wasn't like her life was completely perfect ether, she experienced the pain of losing someone she loved dearly, and something told her that wasn't all she lost, but she didn't have the heart to ask. At least not now. A conversation for another day, as it seemed she enjoyed Azura's company after all. "Is that so? Then why are you even cuter? " She was, that wasn't exactly some kind of lie or sarcasm. She was cute, for what happiness was true in her smiles. And she also had the looks, even if Azura didn't look at other woman like that, she could admit when there was another beautiful, cute woman in front of her eyes. "...Let me correct you, as far as I've seen, you have been nothing but wonderful and nice to everyone. I may not spend a lot of time at Avalanche's mansion, but when I do visit, You are always there talking with kindness, and trying to help everyone. Just like you hoped to do with me. You are most certainly like your father, I don't have to have known him well to see that. You know, If he was here now, he would tell you how proud he is of his precious daughter. He also wouldn't want you to hold any doubts, and would want to see your true smiles rather then some of the hidden ones I've noticed.. " Azura was pretty observative when she needed to be. As she went on to her silly, Alisa-mode, Azura found herself unable to stop herself from really laughing this time, some rare moments happening all by Alisa, she should feel rather proud for sure! "Little minnow?? " Her name callings were really a hit in some strange way! At some point, the teases and little fun jokes would have to come to an end as Alisa began to speak of a much more sensitive topic. Azura wasn't really one to become to emotional over talk of her parents, if anything, she enjoyed talking about them, but even more, getting to learn something a little knew was even more wonderful to hear. She listened to what Alisa had to say, giving her time to tell the story and eventually, her feelings. Had she known how much she wanted to talk and spend time with her, she would have made it a mission to spend time together. To hold all that in for so many years must of been terrible! "I'm so sorry about your father...I remember hearing about what happened, I remember because...I do remember him, as young as I was back then, it was hard to forget his kindness and how much he loved us kids. " Alisa might get to learn something she didn't know ether! "The first time we seen him, we kids were all so curious about the pointy-eared 'human' that we would hide and spy to watch him and my parents when they spent time together. " She smiled at Alisa. "They did look so happy together, I knew right there that he was a good person. As we started to get to know him, he would play with us, but our favorite game was chase. Do you know how silly your father looked, attempting to swim with a bunch of severely energetic mermaids? " Azura reached her hand out, giving a light, playful tug at Alisa's pointy-ear! "I used to think these were broken head-fins, I wondered why he had special fins, but wasn't at all like us. " Releasing her ear with a soft laugh, she continued a moment after as they continued their leave of the city. "I'm very grateful to have had the chances to meet him, he really did bring light to everyone. Just like you do.." Rather she believed that or not, it was true. "I'm sorry we were not able to meet earlier on. Had I known how you felt, I would have made time to spend with you..even if I'm not exactly the most interesting, fun person to be around, I would hope I could bring a little happiness to you. I'm so sorry you waited so long.." She couldn't help but feel a bit guilty. She was a Serenitian, she should of been able to feel that! As they eventually made their way out of the city, the beach area would come into view. "I want to show you something, before we go to this place you found..Look ahead, toward the water..." Once they got to the sandy beaches, she stopped, so they were both standing in the sand, but not to close to the water. With a wave of her hand upward, the water suddenly formed into tall, hovering wave. "..I can...show you my own memories, my memories of your father and my parents. " And sure enough, that wave acted like a sort of movie screen, a strange ability, something Azura learned to master in her desperate attempt to never forget her family's faces. She would watch these and other memories when she was alone visiting the ruins of her kingdom. What Alisa would see, was some of the very moments she poke of moments ago, about her father and Azura's parents spending time together. She would see them together, along with the curious Azura who was spying on them with her siblings! It would cut to the next memory Azura spoke of, during their play times and the game of chase and her ridiculous looking father swimming so goofily with the kids. Next was yet another amusing scene as the young Azura swam up to him, offering him a gift. That gift was quickly dropped from his hands and floated down to the ocean floor. A sea urchin, of course! It didn't seem to sting him, he just freaked out and dropped it! It seemed Aemon was the center of attention for being terrorized by the girls! She tried to focus on all her memories with Alisa's father in them, unfortunately there was not as many as she would have liked, but she thought at least, letting Alisa see her father again, in happy memories might bring a smile to her face. She didn't want to forget her family's faces, and she knew Alisa wouldn't want to forget her fathers. Eventually, the images stopped, and the wave slowly settled back into the ocean.

Alisa "...What?! That's literally not possible. It's great! WaIT, are you blushing?! Oh my god, you're so cute!" It must have been strange for Azura, who was so used to people not being so friendly to her, to have to deal with Alisa at all. She was like a ray of sunshine... sometimes. She became a bit different when someone irritated her though. Needless to say though, Azura was on her special list of people who would have a very hard time irritating her. Lucky her. Probably. "...Me?" She blinked several times, and now it was her turn to blush, much more than Azura did though. "That's ridiculous! No one is cuter than you, especially not me! I mean, you know, I'm not bad to look at I guess, but you're gorgeous! You are actually blind if you don't see it." That must have made them both blind then, since Alisa didn't see herself as being that attractive. Was hard to though, given her history with love. Anyone she tended to fall for didn't feel the same, which did quite a number to her self-esteem. "...W-well.. I don't... I mean, I do what I can, but I just do what I feel like. It's not like I'm thinking of helping people. So it's really not all that great. I just do what I want." And what she wanted happened to help people. Was that more or less impressive than going out of her way to help people? Her face continued to redden. "Aah... haha... you, um... You managed to make me speechless! No one has done that before. So... I guess you win this round." She leaned towards her, giving the mermaid a small kiss on the cheek, apparently to show her appreciation. "Thank you... no one else has ever said anything that nice to me." She gave her a genuine smile for a few moments, before her eyelids lowered a bit, and it turned to a smirk. "But if you think I'll take this loss lying down, you've got another thing coming. Prepare for a lot of losses from now on! I'll turn you into a helpless little minnow for sure~" It was hard to tell if Alisa was trying to be her best friend or her greatest rival. Or both. Or some other thing. One thing was for sure, though--Alisa was having a lot of fun with this conversation, and it was a relatively deep one, too. It seemed Azura was enjoying herself too. This was turning out much better than she expected! She just thought she'd annoy Azura until she ran off. This was much better! "...Wait, really?" As the topic shifted a bit, Alisa was shocked to learn that Azura had some memories of her father. Though, thinking about it, it made sense that they would remember him. He WOULD stick out a lot in a place full of half-fish people. And not being able to swim nearly as well. A way-too interested Alisa listened as Azura spoke, enraptured by her story. It seemed... really obvious how much she must have missed her father, given how joyful she seemed just at hearing these small bits of stories about him. She blinked as Azura reached towards her, and as she gave that little tug at her ear, the reaction she'd get was probably not what she was expecting. Alisa let out a sudden, and very obviously sexual moan in response to having her ear messed with, even that tiny amount. Her face turned red at the same time, and it reddened even further after she regained composure, as her eyes shot open in fear and her free hand came up to cover her mouth, as if she was shocked by what she just let slip out. It was... not something she could really control, but wow it really embarrassed her to have Azura see that. "S-sorry! Our ears are..." Oh god, don't explain it. That would make it even more awkward. "...Sensitive..." Given Alisa was very obviously not hurt in any way by what she did, and given her very obvious reaction, it was clear what "sensitive" meant. It was lucky there was no one else around to hear that. And given Azura barely even gave a light tug and got that reaction, it was probably easy to tell that her ears were... VERY... sensitive. Her legs were wobbly for several seconds later--it seemed impressive she hadn't gone down to her knees. Just from that tiny tug. That was a lot of stimulation! "...A-anyway, please continue!" She was usually pretty shamelessly perverted, but she felt so self-conscious about letting Azura see that. It seemed like she respected Azura a LOT and wanted to avoid her usual antics. At least, right now. "Thank you so much for telling me about this. I don't have many memories with him, so... I always love hearing stories about him." It must have been even harder on Athena, since he died when she was so young. Alisa didn't know if she had any memories of him. Even the few she had were so precious to her, she'd rather not imagine having none. "Excuse me?! You're by far the most interesting person to me! And I haven't had this much fun talking to anyone in a long time! Seriously, you give yourself too little credit. Maybe we both have that problem. I'd be over the moon to be able to spend every day hanging out with you--you're so much fun! Anyone who never wants to put in the time to see the amazing person behind the wall you put up, well! Their loss! More Azura for me!" She had been smiling a lot more often than normal while talking to Azura, which just went to show how much she was enjoying spending time with her. "There's nothing to be sorry about. We're talking now, and that's more than I could ask for. It means so much to me." She hoped she wasn't coming across as creepy, but it really did mean a lot to her. "Hmm? You've already done a lot for me, you don't need to..." Azura's powers were really incredible, as Alisa was learning. Delving into her own memories was something she had to recollect using her mind, but Azura had powers like these... She took a few steps towards the wave as she watched, and seeing her father's face again... it really sent a rush of emotion through her. "...Oh..." And naturally, tears followed. She wasn't upset that Azura was showing her this--quite the opposite. This was probably the nicest thing that anyone had ever done for her. She just continued to watch these memories play out in silence for several moments. She didn't remember him that well, but she knew that was him. His mannerisms, the way he carried himself... that warm smile... Alisa cleared her throat a bit, as if trying to choke back the emotion she was feeling. "Oh, stop cutting onions Azura." Her shaky voice said as she reached up, wiping away her tears. "We're at a beach, that's not appropriate..." Yeah, so many onions at this beach. "...You keep making me speechless, it's not fair! I'm supposed to be winning here, but I'm totally outmatched. Aaah, fine, you win again." She'd have to return the favor eventually, and win against her constantly. Taking a long, deep breath, she spoke again. "...I had almost forgotten what his face looks like. There's a statue of him in my kingdom, I see him there. But I mean... this. A statue can't capture that smile. The way he'd look at people, with so much patience and love. The moment I saw him here, it all came back. I always felt so comfortable and safe with him around. It's ironic--he wasn't that strong. My mother is way more powerful than him. But he just... had that affect on people. Like everything was going to be all right as long as he was around." He undoubtedly wasn't as perfect as Alisa remembered him being, but she was a girl who had lost her father when she was very young. It was natural he'd remember him as some paragon of kindness, even if he had his faults like everyone did. "I brought you along to try to help you with your problems, and I'm the mess who's crying! You've helped me way more than I've helped you. I hope I can return the favor somehow. I'm..." Her face reddened a bit. "very thankful, Azura." Azura had done more for her in under an hour than possibly anyone else in her life. She finally turned back to her, chuckling out a few more tears. "How does such a wonderful person exist? You are ridiculous. You're so kind, and you're so beautiful, and you are just ridiculously hot, and as if all that isn't enough, you're a mermaid! Ahh!! How in the world are you still single... All the guys in the world have to be blind and deaf and stupid, and... well, girls can probably see your charms better, but they'd all probably be jealous! N-not that- I mean, I know you aren't into girls! I'm just thinking, a girl like you, you'd be a perfect wife. And I'd love to have someone like that with me when I become queen. ...UH, not that I'm- I don't mean anything by that! You like guys! I know! Oh man, is it hot in here or, haha? Um, we're not inside! Right, hot OUT here... haha...?" Her heart had literally never sped this much in her life. She felt like she was about to pass out. "...Let's just talk about something else! Uh, er, so, being a fish, what's that like?!" This was really embarrassing. Azura had done so much for her in such a short time, and Alisa was just over here making a fool out of herself basically drooling out the side of her mouth. (( OOC: ))

Well, saying that only made her blush more! It wasn't fair, how was she able to take her mind off of what was bothering her so easily, and bring her down to a silly blushing mess? It was a game of blushing wars, it seemed, as Azura got Alisa now into the doom of blushing, which in turn made her start to giggle in amusement. "He,he, I win this battle.." She teased, Alisa went on about winning against her, so why not join in on that fun too? "Oh, silly you. I could say the same thing about you. You don't seem to know just how beautiful you are. Inside and out! " "Funny that every time you do something, good things happen." She had to see what excuse she would come up with for that one! Well, there it was again, her dramatic challenges with the added bonus of her amusing names. "We will see, I hope you are prepared for all the losses you will endure! " Right back at her, they were both pretty silly today!
Then came the moment Azura didn't expect, her playful gesture of lightly tugging at her ear turned out to backfire on her in a way she didn't think possible. It didn't take much thought to know what was going on with the very obvious moan. Whoopsie! Maybe she should pay more attention to elf-biology too? ...Yeah, her face lit up, but at the same time, she began to fall into a fit of giggling. It was a tad embarrassing, but it was also very amusing! "Oh..gosh, I'm sorry...! I had no idea...!" With how much it amused Azura, there was one positive for Alisa, she had no reason to be to embarrassed if Azura found it to be funny, rather then freaked out or disgusted! Clearly that was not the case! "This is great...." She pretended to reach up with both hands towards her ears suddenly.." I can win any battle against you now, I know your big weakness! I'm...going...to...grab...them! " Her hands were just inches away from Alisa's ears, before she stopped just as suddenly, and brought them back down, a smirk playing at her features.
Her moment of her own silly behavior would come down a bit, as they continued to talk on the much lighter subject. "I'm happy to share these memories with you, and I will share more if anymore come to mind.." Surely there were more, and if there was, she would make sure she let her know right away. "Hmm, I don't know how that is possible, but thank you..I am happy to hear you enjoy my company so much. You may be the only one who does." She smiled though, obviously she didn't want to go ruining there fun moment with being all down again, she was trying to avoid that. Alisa's presence definitely helped a lot, more then she ever expected! Azura glanced back at her after the show of memories came to an end, giving her a warm smile as Alisa attempted to cover up her emotional moment with more jokes. "It must be coming from Midgar.." She responded playfully. "I don't think anyone should ever have to forget their family, I wish I could do this for everyone, but i'm even more grateful that I could allow you to see your father again, it brings me happiness to see him too, these memories were some of the best that I could ever hope to remember. " "Hmm? But you did help me. I got to laugh again, I got to have a real, even fun conversation with another sweet, kind princess..I had planned to leave for a while, I didn't actually plan to go back to Midgar. But after talking to you, I feel so much better...You've brought a lot of joy back that I was missing, so thank you Alisa..You have helped more then you know, and I especially can't leave you behind now. " As Alisa went on to speak, it was time for her blushing face to return. "I--I don't think that's all true...! But, thank you.." It was hard for her to be so self confident for some reason, much like Alisa, they both shared some silly problems that were so ridiculous! " I guess all the guys are exactly that, aren't they? " Clueless and so impossible to make understand feelings of a girl who loved them. Well, at least it was that way with the only man she ever wanted, the only one that mattered. "Now you are making me speechless! " She may not of looked at other girls in the way Alisa did, but it didn't stop her from blushing and having her own moment of a loss of words! "You're so sweet, though.." Azura leaned forward a little, placing a cutesy, friendly kiss to Alisa's cheek as if to try and calm her nerves down a little. It was also to show she wasn't upset, or disgusted in her kind words. "You will find the perfect woman, you know. I know it! Anyone would be a fool not to want to be with you.." She paused a moment, slowly walking her way to the jetty, assuming Alisa would follow along too. It's clear now that he has no feelings for me, but I can't just get over him just like that..." She sighed, taking her last step of the last massive boulder of the jetty's end.
