Hina's smile fell into a sudden, rather confused look as she tilted her head ever so slightly, her curiosity was certainly on the rise. "Paper, move on it's own like it's a living thing..? Nope. Nuh uh. Is this a normal thing for you? " She was really amazed by this mysterious man, sure there were a lot of off-worlders with incredible powers, but who had such a power to make paper look like it was alive? That was just extra cool! "...Hmm...I don't think I can look at paper the same..It's alive? Really? " Was she serious or just that gullible?
"Well, you probably don't know a lot about the history of this place. That ShinRa place has never been good, and I think the new guy who runs it is a big show off! He acts tough, but he himself probably doesn't know everything that took place in that building. Experiments, terrible ones..Um, even if the new president is a big idiot, just stay away from there. It's never a good place for off-worlders, like yourself. " She could clearly see that much, his questions made it pretty clear he wasn't from around her.

Hina was about to take a step forward, to try and calm the frightened child down when the sensation of intense fear fell over her, causing her to freeze. Hina's kind and friendly nature didn't exactly help when it came to being super strong, it kind of made her easily scared if the situation was on higher levels of danger. That's when all that bravery she had fell straight down, leaving a terrified teenage girl to try and fend for herself. Right now, the fear on her face had never been so intense, causing her body to move on it's own while her mind still remained completely frozen in fear. It was enough to back her away as fast as she could from the man she believed to be so amazing only seconds ago! Where did she back into, though? ...That beautiful lit Christmas tree, of course. At the fate that she backed into it, was just enough to cause the entire tree, and herself to go crashing down onto the ground, along with all it's ornaments and decorations. "M-Murderer....! How......how could you do that to those people? To the children?! " Her mind was still very clouded with those images that burnt into her mind, she hadn't quite come to her senses yet..

Vashear enjoyed the confused look on her face, to think what would happen when he brought something else to live would probably drive her crazy trying to get an explanation for. "For 'me' this happens every day." he laughed a bit, Hina knew nothing about the gods the gods that people followed in his world, if she did something like making paper birds fly around would have had her ether groveling at his feet, or something along those lines. Thankfully she had no idea. "If it wasn't could it fly like that?" He chose to answer her question with a question, not to be smug or rude but to see what answer she would come up with on her own. As she carried on speaking it lead him to another conclusion about ShinRa, ether this girl knew far more then she should about government secrets, or she had a wild imagination. "If.... i were an 'off worlder' as you put it don't you think I'd look...." he stopped himself as he looked around at everyone's attire seeing how different it was from his own, and sighed. "Never mind."

Suddenly seeing hearing the girl's over all silence he turned, realizing what had happened, as she backed away Vashear spoke quietly to himself. "Astra guide my hand." as a quick prayer to a dead god. All the things he had seen in this world in such a short time flooded hid mind as he thought of a way to make this situation seem like something less notable to all the onlookers. His hand went into his inner jacket pocket and he pulled out the phone he just bought.... but didn't know how to operate, yet alone turn on. Just as she backed into the tree he accidently turned on the camra of the phone and took a picture of the horrified girl. Hina then shouted out very loudly, his life sense turned his attention to the most worried person near by in crowd holding up the phone and pointing at it "She just saw something scary on this thing." he said trying to turn peoples attention away from this situation.... possibly making him seem like a bad father but it was better then the other outcomes he thought of.

His attention went back to Hina, he approached her slowly, and reached a hand down to help her get up "Why don't we go get something to eat then go someplace quiet and talk?" he asked, didn't need roomers of him being a murder going around. The picture on the phone faced towards Hina, it wasn't intentional but clear as day.

( ( O.O.C. Aww what a wonderful picture for them to remember this meeting by. ) )

"Huh, that's impressive! It must be fun. But you know what would be even more fun? If you could use those papers to fly you around, like...little flying papers you could stand on...or...or make wings with the papers..! " Her imagination was starting to go into even sillier things. "Well...Um, paper comes from tree's right? So maybe the life of the tree still resides in the paper and that reacts to your magic? " She said with a small, goofy grin. It was impossible to tell if she was joking or confidant with what she said! "Hmm? What...oh...was that supposed to be secret? He,he..Um, you aren't the only off worlder you know. There are lots! And guess what? If you are in need of a place to stay, Avalanche is the safe-heaven for all the off worlders to stay. Um, were kind of a resistance group against the evils in this world..everyone's kind of gotten together to keep it safe...does that sound like something you might be interested in? "

But things took a odd turn, and a frightful one in the next moments to come as Hina found herself very unlucky by the little tap of a terribly demonic sword of sorts. She was still unaware of that. As he approached her and offered his hand to help her get back to her feet, she refused the help with a simple glare. "...No...I didn't see anything on that..it was...---" Her eyes widened. "...What is this?! " Her hand snapped forward, attempting to grab the phone from his hand. "How dare you take such a horrible picture of me!" That was most important, after what she just saw play out in her mind! "I don't want to talk to a evil-hearted person...what you did..." She began to get to her feet, keeping her eyes on him as if he were truly some evil monster she couldn't trust.

Vashear couldn't help but smile a little, the youth no mater where he was were always full of creative ideas.... that he might one day put to the test, given her idea wasn't without merit, though it did have a fatal flaw, or two. "Maybe one day. It might take some time to work on something like that." though she did have his mind working on a few ideas to fix the flaws like making it out of cloth instead of paper so it don't fall apart in the rain or wind. "Your much closer then you think." in fact it was very shocking how close she was. "It's that it was once alive, and the memory of it's life was hidden deep inside it, I mearly allow it to relive it's memories, in altered forms with a little guidance" As Hina continued to speak it confused him a bit, after all he got here via ship, not one in the sky but the water. "I... Think I'd be better off staying on my ship, no need to drag my crew into something if they don't have any choice, and joining a resistance would force them into it by association. After years of war, I think I had my fill."

Seeing her glare Vashear took a single step back pulling his hand away. When she reached for the phone she was able to take it rather easily, after all he didn't have a hard grip on it since he didn't even know how to use it yet, he stayed silent until she got to her feet trying not to laugh at the girl, he focused for a moment and his aura started to show once more, but quickly faded and went down his arm as he spoke. "Brace me." he said placing a hand on his leg the aura went into his pants and faded away, his pants wrapped tightly around his legs showing off how toned his legs were. "The difference between good and evil is the one telling the story." he said as he took a few steps past her to lift the massive tree that she had knocked over, it was a bit of a struggle but he got it off the ground balancing the base of it on the ground in front of him, and his shoulder trying to place it back how it was before Hina knocked it over. "And as far as I can tell the people..." he grunted trying to lift the tree but would clearly need a bit of assistance. "...the people would see you as the evil one, for knocking down the tree." He began to clear his mind once more his biochromatic aura showing once more

"Aww, well, I want to be the first to know when you succeed! I also demand a ride on the flying paper. " She said with a goofy grin. "It'll be like a magic carpet ride..~ " Who could she ever have gotten her goofy side from. "Hmm? Ohhh...ha! Yay I was right! Take that, bullies! " It wasn't a shocker that she was quite teased and made fun of for her silly nature, there were a lot of meanies in Midgar. Being happy and fun just didn't suit some of the cold-hearted meanies living here. "Whoa, wait, ship? ..where at? Is it a flying ship, or a sea ship? " There were flying ships in this world, so she only figured his would have the same. "It's okay, though. I just wanted to let you know, so if you ever need anything, you know where to go."

Unfortunately, their more cheerful conversation would have to come to an end, after the events unfolded within seconds. With the phone now in her hand, Hina wasted no time in opening it back up, and quickly locating the image of her horrified-looking self to delete it. "Hmph.. It's gone now..." She said with a half satisfied tone, only to hold it out a moment later for him to take back. She was no thief, despite the very awkward situation. "They wouldn't care about the tree if they saw what I saw.If you are so innocent, then explain what happened! Why did I see -you- killing innocent people? And ...why did it happen the moment you bumped into me?! "

As Hina looked through the phone she could see it was still new, nothing on it other then the one picture of her self. "It's gone?" he asked clearly not knowing what she was talking about, after all his world didn't even have electricity yet so his knowledge of a phone was next to none, other then watching moving pictures, like the store had shown him on the television. Instead of reaching for the phone when she reached out with it he freed his right hand bringing his wrist up to his mouth he unfurled one of the ribbons. he took a deep breath and his aura faded away once more, "Grasp" he said to himself, exhaling the aura he had it went down his arm and into the ribbon. Vashear reached to the base of the tree and the ribbon went out and wrapped around it, though it was still connected to his wrist. "Not once have I clamed innocents." he clamed as he pulled on the ribbon, while lifting the tree higher up getting it to balance on it's flat base. Slightly winded he reached out to grab the phone back from her. "I... just need to know exactly what event your blaming me for, since what ever it was your far to young to of seen first hand." Vashear started to wind up the ribbon tucking it back how it was around his wrist once again, the life he had granted it has come to an end once more. "If you want to continue our conversation from earlier, why don't we head somewhere more secluded..." he paused for a moment as he looked around. "... and grab something to eat along the way, your choice of course." Vashear thought for a moment "How about that church you mentioned earlier, shouldn't be that busy around there, or maybe a tavern." He didn't have any ill intent, he just didn't want all these people to over hear there conversation since the street here was flooded. "Besides, if I meant you harm don't you think it would have happened by now? As you said earlier, I'm an off worlder, kinda trying to squeeze a little knowledge out of ya is easier if your more willing to speak then bound up in chains." He said casually not thinking anything was wrong with what he said since he was so use to his time on the battle field as apposed to dealing with the general public.

"Mmhmmm. I deleted it from your phone obviously!" As he had a cell phone, she expected him to know how to use it, it didn't even register to her just how clean and new the phone actually was. As she began to calm herself down a little more, the most obvious and shocking thing came to her, just how he was holding up a gigantic tree, with the help of some interesting magic. She had to take a moment to clear her head, it wasn't every day she witnessed something like this, despite the intense weight of that tree, he managed to get it back in place. Would someone with such murderous ways really try so hard to fix a fallen tree? This was such a strange situation to process. "...Then why did I see what I saw? I saw you, murdering a village of people, even a child....and then you came after me..." It wasn't exactly a pleasant thing to have stuck in her mind, especially for one such as Hina, who almost always had a positive, fun outlook in life, except when it came to her lost love she missed terribly. She didn't care for the sights of blood, if she never had to fight again or raise a weapon she would be a happier person, but in a world like this, she knew that would likely never happen. "...Fine, we can go to the church and talk, You can explain what happened there..I think that will be the best place. As for food, I'm not very hungry...after what I just saw I don't think I will eat ever again!" That wasn't true, but that was how she felt right now! Turning away, she started to walk off for the direction of the church, glancing back every few moments to make sure he was still behind her.

Vashear gave Hina a strange look "Deleted?" he asked himself, a strange word, this place may have several words he didn't know of which could make his.... skills more useful if he took the time to get a firm grasp of there meanings. He rubbed his leg and his pants slacked back to how they once were letting the life out them. He steeped back to Hina and sighed. He rapidly reviewed the recent events then took his sword from his back, the lower part of the scabbard was showing through the cloth that bound it. "So..... my back was turned when you saw all that... No?" he garbed some of the fabric and recovered the scabbard so it was covered once more. "And if I came after you... don't you think you'd remember it, for this is the first time I stepped foot in this area, which would make us strangers.... at best." he put his sword back on his back knowing it would make Hina uneasy especially after hearing what she clamed to see. "I think things will be much easier to explain there...." his voice began to trail off "I doubt it'll be the most pleasant way to explain it.... though it would be the easiest" he though out loud as he began to follow after her keeping a little distance. "I can understand that." as they walked Vashear began to sing another shanty which was just seemed normal after all his time on the sea. "Come all you young sailor men, listen to me. I'll sing you a song of the fish in the sea. And it's windy weather, boys, stormy weather, boys. When the wind blows, we're all together, boys; Blow ye winds westerly, blow ye winds, blow. Jolly sou'wester, boys, steady she goes."

"Target sighted...Locked, loaded...and...Headache!!" The spunky orange-haired girl pulled back on the bright neon-pink rubber band of her sling-shot, a wide grin over her face as she let it go. The rock was small enough that it wouldn't be deadly if hit the wrong way, but she was aiming for the back of the mans head anyway, no temples could possibly get struck! The small rock smacked him directly in the center of his head, before bouncing off and falling to the ground. "Hahaha! Direct hit! How's that feel, ya smugly bully?! I have more in stock, and if you like pain, I'll give ya more if you don't leave that lady alone!! I mean it! It'll be even bi---?? " She paused, the look on his face showed some kind of scary rage, and he was heading directly for her now. "..Er...Hey, I mean it..Stop where you are or else! I'll get a sharp spikey one next if you come any closer!!" He wasn't stopping. "Eep.." Maybe she shouldn't pick on warrior looking men, probably best to leave that to....stronger heroes of the city.

The mansion was a tomb, at least it felt like one. She could barely keep her mind focused on watching the monitors of her computer, which she had kept a near-constant surveillance on the portal everyone adopted the name of the Tear. Other people from other worlds tearing into their own here in Gaia. With it not being very active, for quite a while, she may as well of taken a break. Something she didn't do often, she was a very determined eight year old girl! "......." She glanced up, not slowing her pace very much, instead continued to walk her way right past the man advancing toward the foolish girl. Hiyori raised her hand that held a small black device, and touched it to the skin of his arm. In that moment he would feel one hell of a jolt of electricity course through his entire body, and she didn't take it off that second, of course not! It remained a moment longer, just to make sure he didn't regain consciousness anytime soon after she was gone. "If you're as weak as you look, maybe don't walk alone in these parts of Midgar.." She muttered to Miya, before continuing on her way as if nothing happened at all.
Miya had to be embarrassed, saved by a kid! That was so not right in her book. She would certainly have to improve, and find a better weapon someday.

As Ephraim and the Serenitian princess tailed Aerith from a long enough distance, and considering there were other people wandering Midgar, Ephraim began to realize just how terrible an idea this had been. Not following Aerith to make sure she didn't get in trouble, but bringing a girl he barely knew along. What exactly was he thinking? He was so terribly awkward towards strangers, and especially so if they were female. Was she expecting him to speak? ...Should he speak? Was it awkward? Would it be more awkward if he began to speak? ...He really was not prepared for this. What was he even supposed to talk about, anyway? ...What did girls typically talk about? What did he usually talk about with Eirika? ...His mind was completely blank on that in this very moment. "...Uh... so... the weather is nice." Dear god, Ephraim, the weather is nice? Really? "Though it would be much better if we weren't in this rather dreary city. ...Is that what people usually talk about? I'm afraid my social skills are rather lacking." That was probably something they had in common. "Oh... I'm curious to learn about the place you come from. Would you be willing to tell me about Serenity? And perhaps we could discuss our sisters, too." That was something they had in common. They both had sisters!! How crazy!!! It wasn't like there was a whole lot to do while tailing someone in broad daylight. Might as well converse some. "I have a twin sister named Eirika. She's always been quite the proper princess, and her knowledge of politics and statecraft is far above my own at present. I've always been more of a warrior than a prince. I only wanted to concern myself with becoming a better fighter, not a better ruler. In recent times, my mentality has had to change... though it's not easy. I would be lying if I said I wouldn't rather wield a spear than a crown. I suppose that makes me a rather poor prince and king, doesn't it? I'm sure you and your sister are quite capable at being royalty. I still have a long way to go." It was ironic that, in a lot of ways, these two were probably very similar. Both of their sisters were more apt than them at statecraft and knowledge of their kingdom, while they were more geared towards battle.
Regardless, he was able to speak more casually when he brought up Eirika, no surprise there. She was a very important person to him to say the least.

Phoenix made a sort of disgusted face as they walked along, she almost right away noticed the difference in air quality here, it was nothing like the crisp, clean...non-polluted air of Serenity! These people really lived like this? It was kind of hard to take in. Phoenix wasn't one to show much emotion towards people, but she sure did feel bad for them. It seemed though, she would get a little taste of this harshness herself. "I think anything is better outside this city of gloom..." She said in response, kind of just going along with his questions. As though she had anything better talk about! "..You're not the only one. " She glanced around as they continued to follow the pink-dressed woman, placing both hands behind her head as they walked, rather boredly. "...You want to know about my home? Um, well..It's a totally beautiful kingdom..Everythng is so full of life, I think you would enjoy it too. " He found Midgar dreary, too, so she could guess that his lands were not so bad ether. "So, anyway...Most Serenitians have a duty of their own, and can take on the form of what you might call mythological creatures. You've seen mine.......It's the coolest one, you know." Not really, the most amazing one was her father. Dragons kind of won the award for absolute coolness. "Though there are some that don't have special forms, and their powers reside in them, mostly healing, helpful abilities." She paused a moment, did Uni want anyone to know what her form was? ...oh well. To bad for her. "Speaking of sisters...Guess what my older sister can turn into? " She grinned, yeah, she knew probably would get yelled at later. "Her name is Unisha. UNI...Get it yet? Though she can fly in that form, too.."
She listened as he would tell her about his own sister, a twin at that. "Heh, that must be nice. Twins have quite the strong bond, huh? So, I guess if I see anyone around that looks similar to you, I'll make sure she gets here safe. " At what he said next, Phoenix shook her head. "Nah, it just makes you a fiercer king that no one should pick fights with.." Funny how she worded that one. "Getting stronger isn't bad at all, I think. It only means you can better protect your kingdom and those close to you. So that just makes you a great king. " Who knew Phoenix could be so nice? She was almost surprising herself, actually. It seemed after everything, she developed quite a lot of respect for Ephraim without even realizing it. "As for me, I prefer getting stronger myself. Battle has always kind of been my thing! "

"...On that we can agree. If this is the inevitable future of industrialization, I worry how far it'll go. Is the convenience worth this? ...I suppose it's just a difference of perspective." Ephraim supposed life was probably easier living here than it was living in Renais, but the air felt much less clean, and there was so little color. He certainly preferred life in a kingdom, but people could live how they pleased. "It does sound nice. Renais is much the same in that regard. Or it was before the war began... the Renais I remember is the Renais I wish to restore." He wouldn't go into more detail though, he was sure she didn't care much to learn about the trials of a world she had nothing to do with. "Right, a phoenix. Hard to forget that. It was rather impressive, I will give you that." It was hard to get the image of a majestic phoenix out of his mind, even if she was much less majestic in her humanoid form. Still... he preferred her like this. "The pattern on my chestplate is meant to to resemble a phoenix, actually." He pointed out, turning a bit as they walked for a moment so she could see. "It isn't the armor I wore during the war, but it was gifted to me afterwards. I've been referred to as "Restoration King" by my people, which is a far too grandiose title. The phoenix is meant to symbolize how I brought our kingdom back from the brink of ruin, like a phoenix rising out of the ashes. ...That's the explanation I was given, at any rate. It's a bit absurd though. It was only thanks to the help of my comrades that I was able to do what I did, and I'm still somewhat hopeless as king. I must improve." For the sake of the people he had once abandoned, he had to become a better ruler. "A unicorn, then? Or a falicorn, if she can fly. Either way, did your parents know about your forms before naming you, or...?" Their names seemed a bit too spot-on, UNIsha and literally Phoenix. Not that the names were bad, they were just very on-the-nose.
"You could certainly say as much. If not for her support, I don't know if I could've led our people back from... what happened." He worried, if he had lost her during the war, he would've lost himself shortly thereafter, and become a much different sort of ruler. ...Not something he'd like to consider. "...Perhaps. Though if my only asset as king as the ability to protect my kingdom, my limitations are too great. I need to do far more. And I..." He stopped himself. "Ah, it doesn't matter right now. Suffice it to say, I still have a lot to learn." He had grown a lot during the war, but he would need to continue to grow and learn as king if he wanted to live up to the lofty title his people had given him. "Is that so? I suppose we have that in common, then." They seemed to have a good deal in common, surprisingly enough. It was a good thing he had asked her specifically to come. He was feeling much less awkward having spoken with her now, and realizing they were rather similar. "I would love a chance to test myself against you sometime, if the thought doesn't offend you. Fighting someone from an entirely different world, especially someone with your unique skill set, should prove a valuable experience." And that would be important in the days to come, if he was going to be facing more battles in this world. "...Though I warn you this: I don't pick fights I can't win." And there it was. It felt like it had been too long since he recited his motto!

They were starting to get closer to the church as they followed Aerith, she had to wonder how they might actually get inside without her noticing them at that point. It wasn't that large of a church, so it wouldn't be very easy being so sneaky anymore! As they continued though, she would listen to Ephraim's own stories. "Huh? ....heh...That's pretty awesome. " She said as she took a curious glance at the pattern on his chestplate. "Very cool. How did I not notice that? " She wanted to say a goofy little joke, but then she realized, that joke would only make her sound a lot like a certain God that she now really, Really hated! "It makes perfect sense for you, then...You see? You already are doing a good job, from what it sounds like. I doubt they would go through all that trouble if you weren't. Clearly they love their king. " She paused, thinking a moment. "Your comrades may not have the same treatment, but I'm sure they are highly appreciated too. You shouldn't be so hard on yourself, honestly. I don't know you well yet, and already I can see how lucky your kingdom is. You'll become greater, I don't doubt that. " Not that he wasn't already.
Phoenix nodded. "Kind of...Serenitians have a strong sense of just about everything, close friends and family can communicate without even being near each other. Depending on the bond, Serenitians can sense even a humans location, no matter where they are.........Some of us have learned to mask that, though.." She smirked a bit. She had to learn that one herself, how could a teenage adventurous girl get away with anything if she was constantly found where she wasn't supposed to be? Yes, Phoenix was quite the adventure in her younger years. That never changed, really!

"You're a funny one. Me, offended by the thought of a possible, well matched fight? Are you suuuuuuure you want to? I don't want to burn that cute face! " She was totally teasing, but it was hardly a lie, he was pretty cute. She wasn't blind! "Good. I would love to take up that challenge. When things are settled down, I'll be sure to give you a fight you can't win. " She grinned at him, a face full of confidence, could she really pull it off?
