A.R.G.U.S Mykal Maegnis Ra i am trying to dicide what to give my commander a thunder hammer or lightning claws plz help me!
Which is best suited to what you want to do?
-Mykal well i am basicly just trying to get a good melee commander

I say Lightning Claws then.
-Mykal If you take lightning claws buy terminator honours. Extra attack on top of the rerolls makes for good fun.

but i do like my jump chaplin with lightning claw Well, I can kind of understand why they'd want to do it. There weren't many reasons to take Azrael over a regular commander. I do hope they don't change it though, as I like my current master just fine.

FlashbackJon Also, this is pure hearsay, but I'm told the Sword of Secrets is specific to Azrael now, and not accessible to your average DA Commander. Other swords cut from the same stone are counted simply as master-crafted power weapons. Like I said, hearsay. ninja

yeah, from what I hear over on the bolter and chainsword forum-- DAs have been pretty much nerfed. Jervis Johnson wrote the codex (and between you and me, he has an unhealthy bias towards the space wolves-- which I hear he'll also be writing the codex for)

Any reason why? I didnt keep up to much on the differences between the common faces i saw at the beginning of the book or next to an army in the painting sections of the books. And in addition to why I should be thankful hes gone, why is he gone? if I remember correctly his goofy grinning face was in the beginning of a good few of the 40k rulebooks Ive skimmed.

During a Games Day press junket someone asked what happened to Andy. The guy in charge merely stated that the Squats killed him. But the reason for Andy being somewhat feared is because he is know for his powerful lists and other "neat" implements through Chapter Approved. He was the driving mind behind Codex: Necrons and the old Ork codex, as well as Necromunda and BFG.

My only complaints about the new Dark Angels Codex are:
1. Why is it setup like a Fantasy Codex? Why?
2. Why did they restrict wargear to only certain items for veteran sergeants?
Other than that, I'm going to keep playing Dark Angels. As soon as I figured out how to read damn thing in any sensible fasion.
I find it very interesting that a lot of the list seems to fix problems people where complaining about with regular Space Marines. Sniper rifles have an AP value, shotguns buffed up. Interesting.
