Cziri, she is connected to over 5500 other people, each of which are a battery she can draw from without fail with very little effort. Furthermore, the Mists contain the energy by sparking it through them, even if not at her current location. As long as the energy is in the mists, she's good to go.
If the magic was controlled by your mind you lost. Simple as that. The connection made by the mists coming in contact with the energy would link to Cziri's mind and lock on, starting an exponential drain. Can't manipulate something without interacting with it. So good job, you just proved that she ate you.

i've practically given up on debating the source of most character's abilities
it's rp, they aren't supposed to make sense, otherwise, i would have probably figured out how to do it by now irl XD
besides, it's more fun just going along with it. It's not as if losing a battle's the end of the world anyhow
though, if it's an overly powerful attack or something, like once i saw one person 'throw ropes from the earth to the sun and dragged it closer' ... that's a bit on the outrageous side... and then i get annoyed

It fits an avatar that has some relation to Chaos, every door a bit chaotic. Not to mention these doors are quite hard to open, and each memory surrounded with an endless tower. If you attacked my whole mind, it's bullshit. I was interacting with my magic. She didn't even attempt to eat me either. Read the damn fight carefully. I was even manipulating it through threads with direct contact with her body. neutral -- And, that web of chaos surrounding me was even further to add to my defense. There is a chaotic set of mind, too, not just the alignment either. Her control would be disrupted within my little barrier, and the energy seems to be connected by planes, and did I NOT disrupt planes for a "while."

You're gonna break a light sweat!" lol and i think i told her it was godmodding and that a 3 cm difference over a distance of like 2.4 million meters wasn't going to make much of a difference -_- and she kept saying that i was being stupid or something... so long ago... so amusing.... XD
