adiman777 RIDDLE TIME!!!!! You're in a hallway. There are three switches that turn on a light in a room at the end of the hallway. There is only one switch that turns on the light in the room. Only one switch can be turned on at a time. The ONLY way you will know which switch turns on the light is by going into the room. Your job is not to find out which switch turns on the light, but find a method to determine which light turns on the switch (which switch turns on the light is not important). ......................BEGIN! Umm... Maybe there's more than one light? Also, I should probably post with Zenko.

Easy, stand in the doorway, and flip one switch at a time. You never said that they weren't on the same side.

adiman777 ....that wouldnt tell you which switch turned on the light. btw i forgot this part (gonna add it in) but you can only go in once Sure it would. You can only flip one switch at a time, therefore you flip one, turn it off. You flip another, turn it off. One of them is bound to work. Also, my theory also uses the can only enter once rule. You only enter once, and you remain in the room. Your arms are just poking out. Or you could just watch the little space underneath the door. Chances are you'd be able to see the light come from beneath the door, mostly because apparently you're standing in darkness due to there being only one light.

sorry but to be in the room your whole body has to be in the room. and as i said in the first post, the ONLY way you can tell which switch turns on the light is to be in the room. Good try though. And when youre in the room the door will close and lock so you cant get in or out. Youll have to start again if you enter the room and dont figure it out.

Then why not turn on all the switches one by one. You said which one does it doesn't matter, and that you could only flip one at a time. you didn't say anything about leaving one on.

adiman777 lol yes but i meant to ask what method you would use. You're really close ya know. If it is just based on what methodyou would use, nearly any answer would do. If I had to guess, i'd say flip the light switch closest to the door to go into the room. standard electric wiring would make it so that that would be the most likely, unless someone wanted to be an arse about it.
