I've done SIMILAR experiments, though they mainly involved time, not extradimensional transmission.
::turns the machine on. It hums quietly::
Now, hold still so I can calibrate.

Calibration compete. Powering up...
::the machine hums louder. Energy arcs from Clarice into the machine, that beeps as a panel on the side flashes through different scenes::
Each of these scenes is a different micro-reality. The device is now attempting to find an energy signature match for Powell.
::adjusts some of the levels of the machine as it cycles through the realities::
