aretoo So, Laz... how do you FEEL 'bout OZ being a desert wasteland in Tank Girl? rofl As opposed to Mad Max, Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, or Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome? ... Road Warrior was the best of the three, by the way...

I... borrowed the first two from the internet and managed to catch the third on G4's "Movies That Don't Suck".
All three were intriguing, but I thought that the third one was far too long... Really could have been it's own set of movies if the writers/producers were so inclined.

I'm like halfway through the first Mad max. Rented it the other day LOL. It's funny, for a post-apocolyptic Australia, it's fairly undamaged. The fourth on they are makin now is going to be a stereographic 3d anime biggrin

Didn't you see, Laz? The Halls of Justice were in shambles!
I know, everyone expects to see everything looking like Gunkanjima, but the truth is, you only see inhabited places, not the deserted-urban parts...

You could argue though that the cops just don't how to clean up after themselves or how to file their paper work correctly XD I mean everything still had power, the ga stations still have gas, the hospital is still running fine the roads seem to have been upkept, all the road signs are still there. What kind of apocolypse actually took place?

Oh, y'know... the idiots in the northern hemisphere bombing themselves silly. smile (Remember that all these were coming pretty firmly out of the Cold War mentality, even if it was late in the cold war. smile

The first movie wasn't actually post-apocalyptic, just dystopian. The second movie may have been post-apocalyptic, or may have just been a continuation of the breakdown of the law seen in the first movie. The third is definitely post-apocalyptic, but I'm not sure if they actually said what the event was.
@Invis — Thanks, it was the mixing of the two items that really did it. biggrin So... booty pic?

But we never had anythin to do with the cold war D: I suppose it gets explained maybe on the movie somewhere. It just kinds ffels like they went an hour in land and filmed without making it look like an apocolypse had evn occurrd. It could almost just be a parallel universe where crime is way up or something XD
Edit @ Tsuji: ah ok. See it was my understanding the movies all were set after an apocolypse ^.^
