So, this is the path of 'many a thief,' huh? Doesn't seem that bad to me.

"Probably shouldn't let that stuff bother you before the Metavore wipes you out."

-slips in from the kitchen, cookie in hand- "Oh. Hey. I ...uh...needed to talk to you about something...kind of important."

-sits down next to him...uh her- "I ...ok, this Metavore thing. It's talking about Lex killing everyone and killing this 'other'. And I had no idea what it meant. Another Metavore? But there aren't any. And then I thought it was down to kill anyone, but Wallace has been walking in and out of that place...and he's possibly been used as a messenger. But, it's been asking for Lex...and Selene...and ...I think the other is a person.

"Duh, you knew that. At first, I thought the other was someone really powerful, like, physically. Or someone who could make a really awesome ...weapon. Maybe even someone really good at magic.

"But the other night, I was switched with Nimue right? And Billy tried to undo us. He was doing his spells right, but he only changed our hair back. Then later, he tried again using Nimue's magic too, and Rose was there. She started cheering him on, and stuff started to happen. Serious stuff. My mind was in Nimue's body, and she was in mine. Billy was still doing his spells up until that point, but then he panicked, and he couldn't anymore.

"Rose kept cheering him on, and he didn't cast his spell right. He just panicked, but we still changed back. I've been really thinking about it, a lot. And...I think...this ...'other' ...might be Rose.

"I know. I can't believe it. I don't even know if she's that powerful, but she bakes really good cookies. And she's really sweet, and wholesome. In a weird storybook way, it makes sense. Something really wholesome has some...power over something really evil. Right?

"But...I'm not 100% sure. I think...we should try it out again. Set it up, tell her to root for Billy again, and I'll tell him not to do his spell right. If the switch happens, I'll feel way better about it."

-pause-

"Do ....do you think....anything is right?"

-second pause-

"If I am right, we really need to keep her safe."

"Oh...sorry..." -sheepish- "...but...ok. I just wanted to tell someone that."

*nods*

You're a clever kid. And you're right - whoever or whatever this "other" is, be it Rose or otherwise, they need protecting. All of the villains of the Nexus seem keen on taking the Metavore up on his offer. Just this morning, Luthor was arming some deadly mechs to do some damage.

*lights a cigar*

I think it might be time to start adapting a more proactive stance.

"Well, if we have a bunch of slobs who sit around the bar and do nothing. I doubt they'd expect attacks from them...maybe if we use them as assets..."

"Last night, Lex attacked the Bistro...well, specifically Chris Powell in teenager form, and Selene joined in. If we could find a way to ...or ..if we could find another killer to work ...as a mole I guess."
