Bending down, Knights reached into the ground and yanked something out, weighed with more branches, and tossed it in after the two, before answering.
"Yeah," He sighed and shoved a hand through his hair, absently knocking the cap off. Tsking softly he bent down again and cramed it on his head, as if that had made the gesture, which had been very Sun, moot. "Might want to be careful when you let go though, sometimes you feel a little...punch-drunk."
He didn't know how to explain it any other way.
"We'll wait and see what Jean says, in the next couple of days. You'll know when she activates the other side." He pointed to her new armlet. "That'll spin again, show you some pretty colours, and I'll help you down." He yawned and stretched.
"You were lying before, weren't you...about what you owe..."

She watched him, and nodded to his words of caution. So, Jean was coming back in a couple of days...she glanced at the armlet when he mentioned it, she wondered if it would be okay to shift with it on...
His next statement froze her.
"If I did..." Her voice was steel when she spoke, impure steel where a tap in the right place would make the whole thing fall apart. "It's cause I didn't want to tell the truth."
And she took her hand off the portal.

"Rudolf the re ..."
Who would've thought? Unsane was a good singer. Now that november was soon coming to an end, he had a few christmas songs stuck in his head already, and couldn't help singing them out loud.
Talking about christmas, it was also why he was walking around Latent, looking left and right at every boutiques on the street. With a whole empire at his feet as well as a pair of twins and a feisty girlfriend, he had a bit of shopping to do.
"Eh, what the hell do they want anyway?"

Alex was window shopping, mostly for Sejai since the girl was the only friend she really had. She did buy gifts for her siblings as well, despite the fact that her family had disowned her. Her siblings had been better to her than her parents after all. What to get Sejai though?
"Bloody hell, why is shopping so hard?" Just that moment she passed by a window that had a rather nice selection of coats in the window, some of them leather, and she stopped paying attention to where she was going. Not that she was paying much attention before.

"Whew, she better like this."
Next to the coat place was a jewelry place. Proudly holding a ring with a diamond the size of a small poodle (not quite, but y'know), Unsane was heading over to the next store, smiling bri--bump.
The ring fell. Unsane's smile vanished slowly from his face, just as the ring fell in slow motion all the way to the sewer trap at his feet. By the time the demon's eyes went up to lock on those of the girl who bumped into him, Alex, he wasn't smiling anymore.
At all.
"Hey ..."

"Oof." Alexiel bumped into someone. "Oh, I'm so-" She paused as she looked up at the man she had run into. Uh oh. He didn't look very happy. "Sorry."

Slowly, Unsane reached into his pocket to take out a piece of paper he had neatly folded before putting there. Spreading it to its full size, he flipped it around to show Alexiel what was printed on it. A bill for a custom-made gold ring with an atrociously huge diamond on top.
The price the bill read was probably the equivalent of Unsane's weight in gold.
"It fell in the sewer when you bumped in me ..."

"Umm... I'll get it back for you." She offered. She seemed rather calm about the situation, not un-concerned, but not worried either. She was genuinely sorry.

"Oh? That works."
Swiftly, Unsane shot his hand forward to grab Alexiel by the collar. As he pulled her toward him, the cover of the manhole between them slowly was lifted up by thick bunches of ice growing from the inside, to be left sliding out of the way.
"Thanks!"
Unless she did anything about it, the girl would be dropped into the hole by Unsane, who was grinning again.

She had agreed to get it for him, not be man handled by him, that just pissed her off. The blade that was attatched to the spring loaded band around her wrist sprung forward and her fingers wrapped around the hilt and unless he stopped her, she would bring the blade to rest against his throat. She wasn't too worried about being dropped.

"Oh? Changed your mind already?"
Unsane pushed the girl back to her original spot. He didn't want a knife near his throat after all. He took a step back, bringing his arms up defensively. "Do you even have the money to get a new ring? I don't have the time to wait for you to get a new one." The tip of the elemental's foot tapped against the ice that pushed off the manhole's lid. As if struck by a hammer, it broke down in dozens of pointy shards, which all flew toward the girl's legs.

Ice, apparently the guy had the ability to create and control ice. That was an interesting ability. "Did I say I changed my mind? I'd be happy to get your ring back, but on my own terms." As she spoke, the manhold cover would float up into the air between herself and the ice shards, and since it was pretty much wide enough to cover her legs, it was doubtful that any shards would be hitting her.

"What makes you think you're in any position to impose your own terms?"
The shards shattered against the manhole. That was fine. Unsane's foot, the one that nudged the ice, went up again. This time, he brought it down from the side hard toward the floating cover. The elemental had no clue how it was floating, but he knew that if it smashed in the girl's legs, it would definitely feel unpleasant.

"I said I'd get it back for you. That doesn't give you any right to man handle me." Alex wasn't sure what would happen when he hit the manhole cover other than it wouldn't budge as she held it firmly in place with telekinesis.
