for close-in work multi-tracker, plasma and fusion blaster
for long-range multi-tracker, plasma and missile pod (infamous fireknife)
for sure-kill linked pasma and targetting array...

My Crisis are special since I only have two of them, they are both leaders of their squad so I have hardwired multi-trackers and targeting arrays. It compliments the fire knife pattern well.

Well, I bought a few suits that were GLUED TOGETHER! They are permanently using burst and flamers. I broke a few guns off and put on some other ones that would be more useful. I have recently discovered the misslepod techinque and I have been using it every battle. It is nice. twisted
The glued ones have the following:
Heavy flamer (Compliments of an IG friend) and a burst Cannon
twin plasma
Normal flamer and AFB
flamer and burst cannon.

Those four are annoying as Hell to use against heavy armies, but I do what I can with what I got. sweatdrop

Other than that, I finally got my forgeworld Shas O Ra Myr and converted him into a dual-dawn blade wielding farsight. He kicks a**!
I have gotten countless compliments on him and he does me good in battle.

Actually AP 1 rules. I have been killing my self with some things I always forget. Like AP 1 never glances, and fusion blasters get two d six to pen. Damn that's good. CAUSE THEY AP 1. YEAH!!!

Remember, that's not actually how those rules work. AP1 can glance, it just can penetrate when it equals the AV. If the target has popped smoke, has Obscured, or is a skimmer that moved over 6" last turn, the pen will be dropped back down to a glance. Fusion Blasters get 2d6 to penetration, but only inside of 6", not at full range.

I know all that, its just I play agianst IG and SM alot, as well as Necron. So Space marines only have one speeder and the IG player doesn't use Smoke. So I end up with a gun that rips the tanks to shreds. I always got like threes and twos, but now they are on the Pen table. So makes it better. We played yesterday. It was IG and Blood Angels vs. Me(tau) and Necron. We were doing fine until I lost both tanks in same turn. Then i eded up with one squad of fire warriros and my Commander. Then just the warriros. The necro player finally phased out, wich was bad cause he ha dthe only thing on the field that could kill the last russ. Sucked. We were playing to annhilation no turn limit.

I have some ideas about modeling broadsides, but I want input before I do it. One of the GW employees told me about his friend taking the two guns and gluing the together then modeling the boadside like it was holding them shotgun hip style. So i gonna take the same basic concept except make them look like snipers. So visualize the rail rifle pathfinders. One is Standing, one Kneeling and one in prone. I am going to glue the guns together and then model each according to the pathfinders. It is going to be hard though. So any idea on how I should go about this?

like a sniper? sounds cool on paper, but it would look silly for somthing so large taking the roll of sniper, not to mention the fact that a battle suit has no need to kneel for proper aim. It's your models, but for me that would ruin it.

well sniping mecha occured in Evangelion and Full Metal Panic... imho cool idea, but depends on execution - good luck and for the greater good...

Ive seen it done well with eldar wraithlords. Agreed, mecha in many series american and japanese have had sharpshooters.

Yes the completely psycker incapable race that relies entirely on shooting but has a BS of 3 is the greatest. At least my opinion fluffwise, but as always, when it comes tot he game by itself, theyre all equal.

Broadsides are snipers in all accounts. Range 72". Come on there are only two weapons with that kinda range. Leman Russ Battle cannon and Earthshaker cannon. The Broadside is a sniper. It can't indirect, so it has to have line of sight.

Nothing beats a direct fire Earthshaker though in terms of range

I still remember a while ago in White Dwarf in a Battle Report between Iron Warriors and Black Legion the amount of damage the Basilisk did. I think it took out a Dreadnought, an entire bodyguard of a Lord(Minus the Icon Bearer), Pack of Bloodletter's and a Rhino all in one shot.

my best shot in history was lance strike scattering to kill a banshee-filled wave serpent... in explosion perished whole squad (6 on ordnance penetration), so it was nice for 70 pts investment (and unkillable one to boot)
