"I don't know," Flannery replied honestly. "I'm not even sure what I'm doing way out here." She gave a bit of a laugh, looking down at the ground. "It is nice to know that other leaders do go elsewhere too, they're not always tied down to their gyms." Her eyes grew wide as she realized something was missing. "Where did Torkoal go?" she cried, jumping up and off the rock in an instant, looking around in every direction. She spotted the sandy footprints he'd left behind, and started to follow, hoping he hadn't gone too far. The trail seemed to head back in the direction of town.

Kilik slipped his hands into his pocket. Footsteps seemed a little louder than usual on the tile of the steps that led up to the train station. "Let's go, Flareon." He began down the steps, heading toward the Pokemon Center. His gaze went up to the sky. It was a lot brighter than the day before; seemingly empty of clouds. Kilik looked at his Pokemon. It looked back, giving a smile. And then it paused, sniffing the air.

"Flare! Flareon!" it barked, running ahead.

"Flareon? Where are you...come back!" he chased after his Pokemon, slipping his hands from his pocket. Flareon kept running, barking out and sniffing the air. "What're you doing?" he said, catching up. However, it wasn't long before it dashed off again. Kilik sighed, heading off once more.

"Flareon! Flareon!" it barked, stopping. It found another Pokemon; a red and black turtle. Kilik caught up, huffing and puffing. He placed his hands on his knees and took a deep breath.

"What are you...Hmm?" he blinked, looking at the new Pokemon, "Is...is that a Torkoal?" he asked blankly, searching around for a trainer. "Do you think its wild? Torkoal aren't native around here. There's no way it's wild." Kilik approached the Torkoal, holding out a hand to touch its head.

"TORKOAL!" it cried, shooting a stream of flame at the boy. Kilik jumped out of the way, the hem of his sleeve catching alight.

"AHH! Hot! Hot!" he patted the sleeve, watching the fire go out quickly. "What's your deal!" he growled. He crossed his arms over his chest, "Fine. You must have a trainer. Unless he abandend you, I'll wait with you until he gets here." The boy sat on the ground, "Of course, I hope he gets here soon. I have a boat to catch."

"Torkoal?" Mike said leading back onto Titanium's nose. The two followed behind Flannery, amazed how a turtle Pokemon could move so fast.

((HOMG It's working. For now. *kicks*
"I hear you there," Keegan replied, putting an also snoozing Helios into his Pokeball and gathering up their belongings. Mr. Briney docked the boat, and set up the ramp for them to step off the boat. "Thank you so much," Keegan said, shaking the gentleman's hand. "You have no idea how much we appreciate this." The boy stepped down and onto the ramp, extending a hand for his friend to join him.

"It's really no trouble, sonny," Mr. Briney replied with a hearty laugh. "I love the sea, so anytime you want to sail, let me know. In fact, I can ferry you two to Slateport when you finish your business in Dewford. That is, if you'd like. The ride is slightly faster, the currents tend to be on our side on that run." The man gave a wink.

"How can I refuse the offer?" Keegan laughed, although he felt rather queasy at the thought of getting back on that boat.

"Torkoal? Torkoal!" Flannery called, hoping to catch sight of her Pokemon before something bad happened. The trail lead up off the beach and into town. It was then that she caught sight of a stream of fire - familiar fire, and the sound of someone screaming. "Oh god, who did he burn?" she wailed, picking up speed and running towards them. "Torkoal! There you are! How'd you get up here so fast?" the gym leader cried, huffing as she finally reached them. "Did he hurt you? I'm so sorry, here," she said, reaching into a side pocket and handing the boy a Burn Heal. "You learn to carry a ton of these when you raise fire Pokemon for a living." She laughed, bending down to pick up her rogue Pokemon.

He blinked at her. "No, no, it's fine. It was just the seam of my coat," he laughed, brushing the ash off of it. "No need to worry." He looked at her, standing up and then to the Torkoal. "So...this Torkoal is yours, I take it?" Kilik crossed his arms over his chest. "I'll tell you what, you must not be a good trainer if it just decides to leave you." The boy laughed at bit, then thought back to when his Flareon left him after becoming part of Team Rocket the first time.

"Wait. No. Take that back," he said, upon further examination, "You look familiar. You look like..." he paused for a second, thinking back to an interview he saw on the television, "Flannery? Of the Lavaridge Gym?" He looked at her bright eyed. Flareon jumped onto his shoulder, barking happily at her as well.

Mike snickered at Kilik's fake attitude. "Hi Kilik!" He said from atop his steel perch, Titanium waving his tail. He jumped down from his spot, walking over to Flannery's Torkoal and giving it a little pat on the head. "Cutie pie." He recalled his Steelix, clipping his Pokeball to his strap.

Flannery held back a smile at Kilik's 'not a good trainer' comment, and looked down at ther happy Torkoal as he pieced together her identity. "I'd say I'm rather good trainer," she smirked, looking at the Flareon perched on his shoulder. "Torkoal here is just a very curious boy," she explained. "He loves to explore. Why, I bet if I put him down he'd make another attempt at it."

As if to prove her point, Torkoal yawned loudly, expelling a large cloud of light grey, although thick and heavy smoke, and it sank to the ground, shrouding the three trainers' feet in a smoky blanket. "Tooorrrkoal," he said, nodding his little head.

Kasiya took Keegan's hand, and she stepped down onto the ramp, her feet feeling a little unstable on the suddenly stable ground. Ariel jumped down beside her, looking longingly at the water once more before taking her place by her trainer's side. "We'll go swimming again soon, I promise," Kasiya told her Vaporeon affectionatly. "If I remember correctly, the Pokemon Center is this way," Kasiya said, turning to look around the area. She reached into her bag and pulled out her shoe, and put it on her foot. The swelling had subsided enough for her shoe to fit properly again, and she could almost walk without problems now.

"Well, I've never been here before," Keegan nodded. "Point the way and I'll follow." He was happy to see she seemed to be recovering quickly, and he gave her her space, but continued to carry her things for the time being. "I wonder where the gym is?" he asked idly, putting a hand in his pocket. Dewford seemed to be a small, yet somewhat busy place, with people bustling around here and there. He spied a group of fisherman off in the distance, their lines in the water, although the group seemed more content to chat with each other than actually fish. "Maybe I should pick up a fishing rod someday," he added after a moment or two. "Never know what you may catch out there in the water."

He looked at Mike. "Hey there. I know you..." he placed a hand on his chin. He hadn't really gotten to know him, but he had heard his name before. "Let's see...Mi...ke...Michealangello!" Kilik snapped his fingers when he 'thought' he got his name.

Flareon sniffed Flannery, barking happily. It could smell the Fire-type Pokemon that she trained; the scent was all over her, well, at least to Flareon.

"The gym's that way," Kasiya said, nodding off to her left as they walked. Brawly's gym was as she'd remembered it, a fairly plain, squat building. She also remembered it had been incredibly dark inside, and she remembered having Shocker use Flash once or twice to help them see their way around. She opened her mouth to share the information with Keegan, but decided against it. She looked back at him, certain he could find a way to navigate the gym himself. She then followed his gaze to where the fishermen sat, stopping and watching them for a moment. "Yeah, maybe we should look into getting one," she said with a nod, suddenly thinking about how cool it would be to catch something like a Gyarados or a Seadra.

"Eh- Just plain Mike will suffice." He said with a look of stupor. "You remember me, I was the one that pretty much demolished the Five Island Rocket Base!" He recanted the story of how Titanium practically leveled the building and how he, Kasiya and Mitsu beat the tar out of the remaining trainers,

"Ah, good times." He said, glancing down at his Pokemon. As if on cue, Portabello released himself and nuzzled his trainer's leg. A bit of a uncharacteristic move for him, but Mike accepted it as his Breloom just being happy. He pat Portabello on the head with a smile.

Kilik crossed his arms over his chest. "Oh. Gotcha. Giovanni was pretty ticked, I'll tell you that much." He laughed, closing his eyes. He looked at Flareon, tapping its head rather hard. "It's rude to sniff people like that!" he barked. Flareon groaned, jumping down from his shoulder and rubbing against Flannery's leg.

"You know...the grunts you battled were just the tip of the iceburg. There are tons of stronger Rockets out there that you'll have to face soon, Mike."

Flannery chuckled at Kilik's attempt on Mike's name, hugging Torkoal tightly. The little fire tortoise rested his head on her arm, yawning sleepily. "What's all this about Team Rocket?" she asked, a bit confused. "Aren't they the ones who terrorize Kanto and Johto?"
