CHUPS!!! I LOVE YOU. smile (Chups goes way back with Reaver, myself, EvilJoel and any other old school Evo-ers)
I don't agree with that, Derrik. But to go on will get political. When you join the military, you join the military... you join the cause no matter what the belief. I don't think you can seperate the both of them. If you do not support the job that the troops are doing, then you are not truely supporting them. They are doing their job which is the war.
I agree the War in Iraq has been handled wrong, but I do not believe that it is for the wrong cause. I also believe that if we just up and leave Iraq, the entire country is just going to fall into massive civil war and end up in a worse place than when started.
We could go on, but that is all I'll say. I grew up in a family of many military men and women and married a Vet so nothing is going to really sway my opinion on the matter.

Sadly, I haven't kept up with current events as much as I used to. Since I started my first semester of college I've been without television and the news, simply because it's a distraction. So I missed all of the last season of my favorite shows as well as the goings on in the world.
I'm not sure what's been going on with the war recently, but my stance is very similar to LJ's. I think it's dumb when America plays mediator, but we are in the middle of something and it would be even worse to just up and leave.
On the topic of this funeral thing I really have no idea what's been going on. I'd appreciate it if someone could fill me in. During April and May I was preparing for all of my music finals, so I really didn't pay attention to the news. The one day I sat and watched the news was when we had a big tornado warning, because I'm deathly afraid of tornadoes. So anyway, I'd love it if someone could give me a brief summary.

Hey, I'm kind of dead.
Work and real life stuff have been dragging me down, and World of Warcraft seems to be jackin' all my time. So... sorry?
I guess this means I quit or something.

Fweee!!!!! whee Allo there! xd I've just been perusing (sp?). Goodness, not sure if I'm up to this my literacy is sub-par at the moment. 3 weeks out of school and working in retail and suddenly my brain is mush. Then again - it might have been mush when I was in school as well, only time will tell. Anyway back on topic I must say we (heehee we, I've only been a member a week) have a very interesting group here - mutants I mean. I haven't really had the chance to get to know everyone yet. I've just been browsing some of my old gaia haunts for most of the day. Did you know spending all day on the computer is EXTREMELY tiring? I feel like a nap infact.

At some point between starting this post until this point amidst all the rambling I've forgotten what I actually wanted to say. How useful. sweatdrop

Serrated Let it be known that I am not generally a hateful or spiteful man. I try to live and let live as best as I can, and try to good where possible. That said: I hate the congregation of Westboro Baptist Church, and I hope Rev. Fred Phelps dies in the freezing cold so he'll be completely unprepared for the fires of Hell. F**k him, f**k his "church", and f**k anyone who thinks it's a good idea to protest at funerals. on a positive note.....go bikers

Teh Halo,
Basically this guy has rallied his congregation (Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas) together and as a group are going around and protesting at the funeral's of servicemen who had died in Iraq. Protest signs, buzzer horns, rude comments to mourners. The whole jazz. The man's main line is the soldiers died in Iraq because America has become accepting of homosexuals and their way of life. The man and his church claim this is God's way of punishing America.
All I have to say, as an AirForce Brat and future activeduty personnel, if I see someone at a funeral for either of my parents with a sign that says "thank God for dead soldiers" I am going to be busting some heads. I understand not everyone is for the war, for the military, or for Bush, but a funeral is the last place you go protesting that crap at.

Throwing in my peso worth of thought here.
You know, I'm throughouly opposed to this so-called war we've going on. Don't know why, I just can't stand the fact that lots of good friends of mine have wound up out there. Thank God they've all made it back. But you know, honestly. There's a line that can't be crossed, and protesting at a ********' funeral is low. Lower than low. You figure that a Christian congregation would recognize the lack of morality in their actions.

If I hear anything about the Patriot Guard Riders and WBC being within 200 miles of me, I'll be there among the bikers if I have to drag my sister's Disney Princess bike out of storage.
RoS: Regardless of what they say about themselves, WBC is less about doing the work of Christ than the Crusaders were. And that's saying something. Google 'Addicted to Hate' at some point.

Aw, that's very sad. What makes it even more sad is that they are "Christians". That definitely doesn't put the rest of us in a good light. It really bugs me when people who call themselves Christians do something wrong, because the rest of the world thinks that all Christians believe the same things.

It's like that with any religion.
But anyway, we're getting political again. That's why we have the OOC discussion forum up there.
