Darkest Silver Are you sure you don't want to continue. sad You will be facing me next and I like to make things fun. I don't know I might I'm still feeling a bit down though. I got all into it to be an ant running from the bottom of a boot. I really don't like being put in a situation where I essentially can't do anything to an opponent. That is just a depressing thing to try and write out I'm not sure if you follow me on this or not? Besides when does it even start?

YummyBiscuits Using Athena v. Bojuka as an example, if I recall correctly, they both got low scores in the entertainment. Objectively, and subjectively, the fight was hard to read, hard to find gratifying, and difficult (read:not impossible) to separate from any out of character arguments. i.e. a shitty fight that wasn't entertaining. You know, you continue to say that the fight was hard to read, but... Are you capable of reading? I don't know about you guys, but I consider myself an okay writer. I can explain even the most complex things down to a T. Having rped fights for years, I had to learn how to make the technical stuff seem clear to a reader. And you're telling me that my posts were: hard to read. I double checked. Grammar is right. Sentences are clear and short. Long when they need to be. No run on sentences. No misspellings. What were you having trouble with? And you're also saying "difficult (read:not impossible) to separate from any out of character arguments. i.e. a shitty fight that wasn't entertaining." Uh, I'm looking in our fight thread. There's no arguments at all. The only ooc there is from Bojuka. If you're talking about the rant from Bojuka arguing to me here in this thread, that's an entirely different matter. None of that should have distracted you when reading that fight cause no content was there to make it "difficult" anything. Everything else was narrative. So what you're saying really doesn't make sense, just as much sense the grades and explanations made in my fight. And I'm sure my fight isn't the only one this happened in, as Kelly also explained his concern a page back.

Finally got some time to throw a post out on the quick-quick, but I'd like to point out that the rounds don't even "officially" start until Monday; so, despite my recent work schedule, we'll still have plenty of time to get out ten posts each. pirate Also, in every way that your character isn't the Sama I've fought before...this isn't a monk, or a holy man. What similarities Eric has with Dithikar are more compliments to my combat knowledge, not actual likenesses of character. So, let's just have a good time; and make something Brutal-ful together! wink

themightyjello Scalar Warfare Jello sleeping the day away, no bueno. You know I work nights, right? I do now! It's a bummer because I work early mornings so you're going to sleep as I'm getting off work.

YummyBiscuits *Heita, as I've seen, isn't the type of guy to lag back in a fight, so it brought his true to character score and the entertainment value score down. Pope, while in the same space, at least took the opportunity to prepare. You know I wasn't gonna bother but you seem to have been answering others so I am interested in knowing... What's up with that judging? This one comment had me reeling for real.

Besides the fact that it sounds like he's being punished for not being a one-trick pony, what does it matter how he fights elsewhere?

The one thing that still shocks me is how a fight that on both sides was apparently difficult to read ended up translating into a 4 in Clarity for Outlaw in 2/3rds of the rulings.

I am terrible with quoting but the threads are up and Jay is...mostly human so it should be a pretty fair match? It is up to you really. Besides we can have contact the whole way through so if we aren't sure about what each of us is doing icly we can clarify it through the pm system. smile Edit: Ah just saw Slash's post. So they don't officially start until monday. So plenty of time to decide I guess lol.

I can't imagine how hard I'd be slamming my head against a desk if I were a judge right now.
It's been literally nonstop about this one very below par fight. It's gotten to the point where the entire thread is just savagely beating this dead horse.
Why aren't we talking about highlights from this round? Some people have already posted more in their fights (which haven't even officially started yet) then were posted by the conclusion of last round.

Besides the fact that it sounds like he's being punished for not being a one-trick pony, what does it matter how he fights elsewhere? There is that and the fact that, if you read the fight...it's very short, You will see that I engaged twice got somewhat injured and backed off because of that. Also ...he pulled a glass ball out of his pocket. I don't know what that s**t does. lol

There is a proper way of judging.
As in keeping tabs on the fights as they occur instead of crunching down all at once ( which I assume they do ) which makes it difficult to sort out. If they updated their notes as the fight updated, it would be much easier to read the whole thing at once and match with notes.
Jussayin it isn't that hard.
I could grade every fight in one day and give out comprehensive notes on them. One day.

The average reply count in threads for last round was around 10 posts. Most of the fights for this round are barely scratching 7 replies. These fights are gonna move much faster, of course, which is good thing. But nothing much has happened in them for people to be talking about them.

The mathematical average is actually around 15, which helps my argument not at all. Still, it's a shame to read all the complaints when I had hoped the OOC thread would be more of a...celebration? Maybe that's the wrong word, but wouldn't it be nice to have a chat thread based on enjoying one another rather than complaining? People will talk about what they want. I just hoped mentioning it might encourage some of the people here who I've seen be really fun and friendly snap out of all the negativity.

The weak will fall off as they should. I'd be focused on my fight if I were you, and somewhat looking down field. I know I'm ready fo yo a** if it comes to that. cool Just have fun IC and whogivesashit OOC.
