Sayrike::The Black Pearl::Lower Decks "Well, first off, it wasn't ours to give in the first place, though I didn't even know Joe had had it," Kyle replied. From just those words, Sayrike felt like he had received her queries as attacks. After he finished, she raised her hands apologetically. "Sorry, I don't mean to demand answers to my questions. I'm just merely speculating out loud. It helps me to think better. And, see, I didn't know about the history of the Compass and who had ownership. I assumed it was communal property and knowledge, and, well, you know what they say when you assume...* So, I apologize. However, I still have reason to believe that it isn't just the motives of the Replicas we should be concerned about...there's gotta be someone else who's working with them. But I'll save the discussion for later when we have more people." This is why I like to get all the facts, not just partial information. Then I don't look like some Ice Queen who likes to verbally attack people. But, speaking of assuming...one shouldn't believe the Cornerstone of Light is impenetrable either...what if there's a weakness in that? she thought to herself. Sayrike listened in as she gratefully took two pieces of fruit. She had no idea when they were going to get another meal. "Thanks a lot, Dawn and Anthony. My stomach appreciates it. I do too," she smiled. Dawn left to go get the others. Cory? This does sound like a tale. Sayrike let out a hearty laugh at Anthony's sarcasm; it felt really good to laugh again, and instantly the world felt right again. But before the others came, she had to butt in. "Wait, quick question---well, actually two. One: How did Prote come to be with this group? Is he a danger? Could he turn on us like Zexion did? And Louis. Something seems...off about him. I mean, I don't know a ton of stuff about, uh, FF," (she hoped that was cryptic enough) "but...where does he come from?" This was a lot harder to talk about when there was a Final Fantasy character in the same room. "So far we've only majorly interacted with people who are from Earth (or copies of them), come from the land of Disney, or..." she trailed off, hoping the others would know she implied "main Final Fantasy characters." "Well, that is, with the exception of Prote. I mean, sure, there were pirates and townspeople and guards that I've talked to, or rather run from, but, no one who has made a lasting impression and stuck with me." Sayrike's eyebrows took a turn to rise in apology and her voice softened. "And, well, I'm guess I'm just a little wary about unknown factors, that's all. They could be fine, but when our lives are at stake like this, please forgive me for being a little cautious. For me, trust is earned, and even Kuja has suffered (a little) for our cause, I don't mean to demean any of this. We all saw Louis dive into the portal of darkness to save us. I'm just...worried that something might have happened to him while he was in there." Her thoughts flashed back to the scene from the brig of the Dutchman with Jacob. "So, to sum up my two questions: the histories of Prote and Louis. I thought it'd be better to ask before they got here. Then Cory's story."*It makes an a** out of u (you) and me. Badum psh.

The Fira spell ended Cloud's attack, and pushed him back. He put his sword up like a shield to diminish the damage done, but just as soon as the Fira spell had ended, another attack was on its way. As the homing blasts–another fire type spell–neared, Cloud struck them away with his sword, deflecting the first four with enough power to send them blasting into trees before they could correct their course; the fifth missile hit his sword squarely, where it burst into a colorful splash of energy before dispersing entirely.
Not easily deterred, Cloud circled Genesis. Being in the air put Genesis at an odd angle to attack; Cloud waited for his opening.

Kyle sighed, sounding like a mixture of weariness and exasperation. Sayrike had a rather nagging habit of pointing out all the things that constantly bugged Kyle as it was. Of course the Replicas had allies- but they had no leads. No clues. Of course they should be concerned about the nefarious plots going on elsewhere, but what could they possibly do about it but spread themselves so thin they were easily dispatched by just a single Replica?
Does she really think us so simple-minded, like we haven't already thought about it? It's insulting.
"Prote joined us in Narnia, and he did so at Aslan's request. He helped us fight off a small Geist army and save Joe, who had been completely brainwashed into believing he was Ursula's minion. Considering Aslan is a Disney version of Jesus, I think we can trust Prote," he explained, deciding to just ignore the entire first portion of her comments. She wanted to talk about it later, and the less he had to have his buttons prodded right now, the better. Besides, he understood her possible distrust of Prote and Louis- one was a known type of enemy, the other was some random person. "As for Louis, he's an ex-tactician for the Archadian Empire- a rather large, heavily-populated country in Ivalice, from Eff-Eff-Twelve."
"He resigned some time ago, apparently, when the Empire began becoming somewhat corrupt- if I remember his story properly, anyway," he continued. "He's an Arcanist- that is, someone who deals in the Arcane Magicks, which do dabble in the use of Darkness. As for that attack on Jacob..."
He frowned, finishing off the banana and chewing thoughtfully. "After we got out of the Negator's range, I found him passed out and Darkness seeping out of him," he said. "After I forced it out of him using some Light magic, he seemed fine... and didn't remember anything since the Negator had first showed up. It's a... personal theory of mine that the Negator had caught him in the middle of a spell, and the Darkness he'd planned to use was locked inside his body."
"I understand your distrust, but he, like Kuja, has saved our lives more than once, and if it wasn't for his help, Jacob here would be dead," he said, his tone turning somewhat from sounding explanatory to sounding weary. "Which brings us to Cory- the wild card."
"I'll try to summarize our experiences with him. The first time we met him was in the Underworld, where he was working with Hades and butchered a friend of ours almost to death. Then, after landing in Narnia, he assaulted our Train, pumped up by Hades, and when he was about to lose, he kidnapped a friend of ours... Rachel. She returned safely, though not without hassle, and had apparently asked Cory to join us. He vanished for a bit, but returned and helped out toward the end of Narnia. He came with us to Beast's Castle... where we were ambushed by Saix and Demyx, the Nobodies, and Captain Hook. Apparently, Cory had struck a deal with Saix and Demyx, and abandoned them shortly afterward. We managed to fend them off, but when Cory dealt the finishing blow to Saix, he ended up falling from the top of the castle to the ground... and we watched him die."
He let that part sink in for a few moments.
"A day later, however, after returning to Beast's Castle to defend it from the Replicas, Cory returned, alive again, and helped us survive. Less than 10 minutes after the battle ended, he got one of our friends, Timmy, to join him and use the Darkness for power. You could say he seduced him, but... meh. After that, the two of them left, and we went to Halloween Town to save the Wise One of Beast's Castle, known as the Enchantress; while we were underground, Cory and Timmy apparently attacked Kuja, who had stayed behind, for no known reason. Upon returning to the train, he showed up again just in time for a Replica to take Rachel's heart. We couldn't stop her, but Cory was infuriated with us anyway. He made his hatred of us crystal clear, and called us too trusting- even said he himself should have been considered an enemy from the start."
"Since then, he's apparently harassed the other group, kidnapping another one of our friends and making two of the others fight for her freedom. I think, though, that since they won, he's helping them out," he said, massaging the bridge of his nose. "That's our wild card. You will almost certainly run into him at some point or another."

The arcanist released the darkness coating his hand, watching it evaporate into nothing as he glanced out the corner of his eye at Dawn. Louis pushed up off his elbows and turned to face her entirely, "Sure thing, Dawn. What can I help you with?"

"Well, you wouldn't happen to know where the others of our group is located do you?" Dawn started, "We are gathering people up to discuss what we are going to do next. With Atlantica and whatnot. I kind of hoped to find at least one person up here, but eh, no luck. And I really don't want to get lost on this ship."
After speaking Dawn looked down and started to tap her toes on the deck as she realized she was being a chatterbox. She bit her lip as she waited some sort of response from Louis.

"It seems to me like if he's that strong, he'd pop up right when the replicas start showing up again. I doubt he's omnipotent, but...you make it sound like he's A) got a grudge against everyone that he can't control, and B) a wee bit psychotic." Jacob said, looking at the ground. "I don't mind Louis. He's...different, but we all are. We were all mad on the Dutchman. I don't blame him for anything. So let's let that go. So then, we go find the Kings of Atlantis and Atlantic and try to usher them to Disney Castle? Ummm.....hmmm....Won't both of them....die if we remove them from their prospective cities? King Triton needs the water and King Kashekim-Nedakh needs to be near the great crystal for him to live? He is over 8,000 years old y'know."

"I don't expect any of you to believe me about Cory. I hardly believe it myself except that's exactly what I've lived through," he replied with a sigh. The others didn't believe him, either. Then they went through it first-hand with the kidnapping of Kyla. "I don't claim to know his motives, so I'll let you be the judge when he shows up. Like I said, sometimes he helps, sometimes he hinders."
"As for Triton, he can easily take a human form, just as when he made Ariel into a human," he explained, taking a bit more of a contemplative stance. "As for Kashekim-Nedakh, whose name I could never remember, I believe that so long as he wears the crystal necklace and the Heart of Atlantis remains in its chamber, he'll be fine... we'll ask first, of course, and if not, then we'll have to make other arrangements."
"The main question that we face as of now, really... is who plans to stay, and who plans to go?" he asked, glancing at the three of them- Anthony, Sayrike, and Jacob. "Or come along, I should say, since I plan to go."

{Genesis, Leon : Village Outskirts : Clearing}
Genesis watched intently as Cloud and Leon parried and blocked the Homing Fire blasts. He smirked as Leon took a hit from one of them. However, it seemed Cloud managed to prevent getting hit by any of them. His attention didn't leave Cloud though as he watched him circle below. He then unleashed another round of ten homing blasts, these ones all converging directly on Cloud. They were mostly just a diversion though as Genesis dove down and attempted an attack at Cloud's back, the energy from the red blade crackling sinisterly as he brought it down.
"You'll have to do better than that." He said arrogantly as he struck.
After Leon shook off the hit from the fire blast he turned his attention back to Genesis who was still in the air, and thus unreachable. He prepared himself as more Homing blasts came down in an attempt to hit Cloud from all sides. Leon gritted his teeth as he dashed in, slashing at three of the ten blasts. When Genesis came down as well, he realized this was his chance to strike and attempted to bring his Gunblade down upon the red-coated man.

Louis shifted and rubbed his eyes as she spoke, weariness lingering from all the forgotten events before, "I'm not sure who you mean... you have found one person... unless of course I'm excluded. As for everyone else, aside from the captain over there directing the ship, they're below deck where you came from unless they jumped overboard while I wasn't looking."
Louis sighed, it's a ship not a cruise liner, are you that incapable? Louis dropped his hand and smiled, "I'm not sure exactly where everyone is, but Jenny, Noelle, and Joe should be in the sleeping quarters... but I purposely got out of there to give them space. Seems Jenny had something to say to Joe that was pretty important... probably best to leave them alone till they're done. Where's this meeting taking place? I'll head there while you search for others."

[Riku ; Amy : Hawaii : Beach]
With a yell, Riku slashed at the back of two of the Bruisers, injuring one and destroying the other, the other having been weakened by Demyx's attacks. He realized he could end this fight by himself, although help was certainly appreciated.
Upon hearing Riku yell, Amy's gaze turned to the beach path. She nudged Bobbi.
"Bobbi," she said, not realizing she was saying a name she had never formally learned, "I think it came from over here." Upon saying this, she hurried in that direction.
The ocean immediately caught Amy's attention, in fact she failed to notice the fight going on in front of her for a good minute as she stood gaping open mouthed at the wonder of the waves. How could that much water exist in one place? It was awe inspiring! It was humbling.
Summoning her weapons, Amy entered her pink camouflage covered ranger suit. A Trigger Happy destroyed two of the Scrappers. From this distance, Amy was in no danger of taking any damage, and as there was no need for her to move any closer, she stayed where she was. Safely out of the fray, but helping nonetheless.
Cory was back, standing next to Kyla and the newer girl Dani. The count now stood at five Flood, three Scrappers, and two Bruisers.

[Anthony ~.~ The Black Pearl ~.~ The Brig]
Cory was an interesting character from what Anthony heard. A true example of what it means to serve two masters--both good and evil, not knowing which to love or serve more. However, as complex as this young man was, the warrior-knight thought he was quite admirable for sacrificing himself as a last ditch effort to defeat Saix--even if he came back to life afterward. It was kind of poetic, actually. Sort of a rebirth, if you would.
However crazy the story may have sounded, Anthony believed Kyle. You could call him gullible or easily trusting, but as part of his personal philosophy, he chooses to believe almost everything and anything people tell him (unless of course it all evidence says otherwise) because he sees no reason for anyone to lie to him.
"I'll go wherever I'm needed," Anthony said after Kyle had finished speaking. "I'm pretty indecisive, so I'll do whatever it is you tell me to. Though I'm not sure how useful I'll be under water. I might do better with something firm to stand upon. But again... I'll go wherever."

"That is not what I meant at all!" Dawn spoke up feeling rather defensive, "Of course you are a part of the group." she paused as she soon started to look down again, "I am sorry, I didn't mean to say it that way...."
'I must really be out of it, if my words are coming out like that.... Maybe I should of let someone else do this, rather than go out on my own.' Dawn let out a soft sigh of her own as she continued to keep her eyes on her feet, and holding her arms behind her back, "Kyle along with Sayrike, Anthony and Jacob are in the brig talking. You are free to join us, of course. We even got some fruit me and Anthony found in the cargo hold."

Dani had a very good point about her observations, and so far it was the only thing she had to work with. So guessing by the level they appeared to be, Kyla selected the best attack to choose from of the lot had prepared. As other began to arrive, Riku and Demyx already beginning to pluck these things out of existence- that’s when Cory dropped in!
He gave them a short explanation before flanking her blind spot with Dani taking the other side! It was... odd, odd Seeing Cory so serious. Serious, as in seriously acting like he was going to work together- with THEM?!
Nuke’em he said- sounded good to her.
“ One nuke- coming up.”
Her book burst into a maelstrom which ignited like they were set on fire and a Birn Strike Storm which spred out like an angry swarm, encompansing the entire field- err.. beach pass. It wasn’t as high a power strike at first, but all those smaller hits add up, and they would be bombarded from all sides. The attacks flew around her companions easy, striking any of these unversed they could find.
Hopefully this would thin out their numbers considerably.
(( you guys choose what dies^^'' think of level 2 birn strike, shattered into smaller bits and spred out. So...divide overall attack-by mass number of taregts obviously the smallers ones would be hit harder.))

Demyx let Riku take care of one of the other Bruisers as he continued knocking "his" around with his geysers. Just a couple more hits from the water spouts and the thing would go down. He could probably do more damage if he got close enough for melee combat, but that wasn't his forte. He was far more interested in protecting his own skin than anything, so he just kept blasting things away from his general location.
Bobbi nodded as Amy nudged her and followed the gunner down to the beach. There she saw the scene unfold, but wasn't quite as distracted as Amy by the sheer magnitude of the ocean. Yeah, it was breathtaking, but she was kind of distracted at the moment.
She darted off to one side, taking the flank opposite Amy. She'd noticed the guns, and was relieved that she wasn't the only one limited to long-range attacks. She had a feeling she and Amy would balance each other out quite nicely.
She scanned the fracas for a moment before nocking an arrow to her bowstring and sighting along the shaft. All she really caught from Dani and Cory was "treat them like Heartless," so she did. It seemed like Riku and Demyx had the big ones taken care of, so she concentrated on the littler, faster ones, and rhythmically plucked them off one by one with her arrows. She didn't even bother with a whole lot of mana on the arrows, especially since Kyla decided to explode her Birn Strike all over everything. Really, Bobbi was just picking off anything the others missed.
As Dani, Amy, Bobbi, Kyla, and Cory joined the fight, Demyx had to concentrate harder not to hit anyone. Mostly Cory and Dani since they and Riku were the main melee fighters here. The girls kept their distance, taking down the Unversed from a distance. Demyx concentrated his geysers solely on the one Bruiser, but he had a hard time aiming when the field was covered in Kyla's spell. He decided to hold off on his own attacks until he could see what he was hitting.

John was busy inside one of the huts when he heard the large commotion from the outside. He had been busy trying to convince a large Hawaiian man that there was no reason to fear the ocean because it just circled around to where the island was anyways... he didn't get too far with that argument. John bolted outside from hearing the screams and the asplosions and the impact of things and such...
Getting to the area, John stood a bit of ways from the group and realized that there were some new creatures he had never seen before. However, he did recognize the bruisers and also realized his slow melee attacks would do little with the cluster-gaggle-f**** that was happening.
"Thunder!" John said, hoping to divert or give confusion to one of the bruisers. Chaos was the best tool at the moment with so many attackers. A decently sized thunder bolt shot from out of the side and shot for the current position of one of the bruisers.
