"Well... ya see pen... I had a dream last night and it is what is keeping me from thinking you are a babbling idiot. You where in it and you told me to wake up, not ot mention you know things about me that you shouldn't " said skotti.
"But there is one thing, what do we do in the other world?" he asked.

Skotti nodded "So you called me boss... I can only assume that I was some sort of ranking officer... or something" he said.

"Leader? so I am that marine's boss?" skotti smiled to himself but then remembered what he had to do. "Oh, that means we will have to go to the military base and get that closed minded jack a** to join us?" asked skotti.

Colbur, Waffle, and Norman had all been home for 12 minutes now. Koteki got over whatever was bugging him earlier and was outside listening to Colbur's summary of what happened, and at the same time keeping an eye on Waffle as she was practicing teleportation.

"....so basically, they didn't notice the sudden change to begin with."
"Of course. Why does it seem like I'm the only diligent person around here? All of the nobles could give two whoops in hell less about the welfare of a place, as long as they're near the top of the social ladder and have what they want."

"Dad, am I supposed to set the exit portal or the entrance portal first?"
Koteki turned his head to Waffle. "Where'd ya get that idea from? There's no special setting order for two-way portals."
"Oh. Sorry, Dad!"
"It's fine."

He turned back to Colbur when he heard him start talking again.

"By the way....why were you so interested in trying to get Waffle to learn black magic?"
"It's arcane magic, Colbur." Koteki corrected. "Anyways, it's because she has a very good affinity for channeling, unlike you, or most of the other non-arcane magi around here." he continued. He looked at Waffle, then back at Colbur and lowered his voice. "And of course, you let me teach her only a tiny bit as if it'd shut me up. She has MUCH more potential than you think."
Colbur lowered his voice too. "I do NOT want my daughter to be sullied by learning dark magic!"
Koteki raised an eyebrow, but as he was about to speak, a very loud sonic boom could be heard. They both looked over to the source of the sound to see that the force field actually broke. Waffle turned around and sheepishly smiled. The forcefield had quickly regenerated without making it apparent.

"Uh...how do I control which direction I set the portals again?"

Koteki facepalmed, then looked at Waffle, the force field, the horizon, and back. He took a somewhat deep breath, then replied.

"We'll worry about that later, but as a test, do you remember how to close portals?"

In Durem, a blue portal could be seen in a parking lot down the street from a pizza parlor.

"Yeah I would think this whole situation would be a little out there." Pen replied to Lana's statement "So trippy might be the best way to describe it." She was unaware to the fact Lana didn't meant the alternate reality problem.

Lana then direct Pen to the portal outside. What the...? Pen stood up and dug into her pocket to pull out a card. She laid it on the table in front of the boss in a hurry.

"I have to take this," nodded towards the portal as if it were a bus, "go to this location it might help bring back some of those memories." Pen gave a large smile and ran out of the parlor.

Worried that the portal might closed she did a running dive into it. Please could this be my way home? She fell and skidded to the feet of an elf in a long dress.

Pen looked awestruck as she laid there looking up into the face of her friend. If she had found any wheat before this, it could be for certain that a stalk would have fallen from her mouth.

"Portal... Durem...Serole?!" Pen looked confused but if Waffle and her parents were here then Serole was the best guess she could make.
