Blaine looked up slowly, he was beginning to calm down. The shaking had become less violent and he wasn't hyperventilating, but he was breathing heavily and sweating.
"W...what are you...doing here?" he said inbetween breaths. His hand rested weakly on Mirror. He began to slide up the wall into a shakey stance, "Leaving us...wasn't enough? Now you've gotta...kill this guy...just so we... can't get...anything from...him?"
He tilted his head back and swallowed, "...I'm fine..." he answered, before lowering his head and leveling his gaze at Anatoly. He sighed, "I'm sorry."

Anatoly shook his head. "Dunno why Stark wants him, but we wouldn't kill the poor b*****d. At least, I wouldn't." He looked down. "And you hardly have any reason you should be apologizing to me. And..." He thought about what Blaine had said and what Farley had said. "Whoever's leading you... Osiris, if he's back, or anyone else - do you think he'd kill Karl to keep him from us?"

Blaine shook his head, "You...may not kill him...but your team will." he said, regaining most of his composure, but not all of it. He was breathing more normally now.
"At least that's what we were told..."
He frowned at the mention of Osiris, "Osiris is still missing..." he murmered.
"No, Crash wouldn't kill Karl, we're supposed to protect him."

Anatoly leaned against the wall. "We were told your team would kill him. Either our officers are lying to us or they're ignorant."

Blaine shook his head, but he was just a little glad to hear that Anatoly wasn't here to kill, even if it may have been a lie, "You may not kill him..." Blaine said, controlling his breathing, "but you're team would...at least that's what we were told."
He frowned at the mention of Osiris, "Osiris hasn't been seen or heard from since...well, you know..." he trailed off.
"No." he said, concretely, "Crash wouldn't kill this guy, we're here to protect him"

"Let me guess - you're going to take him into 'protective custody' or something, right?" Anatoly pointed out. "Here's what I'm thinking - I'm betting our teams were both told to capture Karl and both told the other would kill him before letting us do so. Is someone trying to pit us against each other or something?"

Blaine sighed, color returning to his previously-paled face, "Why would they lie about this?" he asked, tempted to slump back down.
He resisted the urge.

"I can think of a number of reasons. Most sound like conspiracy theories. For example, we might were being controlled - both sides - by the same organization at the very end of the chain of command, and we might be getting sent against each other as a series of trials by fire, disregarding human life, to weed out the weak and let only the strong survive, for whatever reason."

Anatoly shrugged. "Could be it, could be something else entirely. He's my suggestion... you have a cell phone?" He froze over a nearby sprinkler and pulled his out. "We should trade numbers and keep in touch quietly, and if either of us find out anything, we can contact each other."

Blaine hesitated, he wasn't sure about gibing the enemy his cell number, even if it was Anatoly. He had betrayed him once, would he do it again?
Blaine hoped not as he pulled out his own cell phone.
"All right." he said, "Sounds like a plan."
