Vintrict Are you going to use a Tiger Uppercut that hits four times or a Jaguar Kick that makes you do an aerial frontflip? Funny how that gave me an idea but no im not going to use a Tiger Uppercut.

LuvMonke Vintrict What I meant by advantage is that you had the distance to utilize your sword from keeping your opponent, Link, who has a smaller sword from coming in. In other words, it would have been more effective to just use the nodachi like it was originally made of instead of improvising and combining a very "long" sword with the fighting style of instant melee range. It was tacky and it doesn't really do anything other than try to make you look cool fighting with a long sword. Even the infamous Sephiroth from the FF series didn't fight so close to an opponent to try to slash them. He would keep a medium distance to make use of his sword more effectively. This was displayed mostly in the Advent Children movie. And in the Kingdom Hearts games (sorry for giving this reference), he slashes before dashing back, cause he understands the threat range of a sword that long. When you're using a sword that's five feet long, either you use it's range to your advantage or you're doing it wrong.Or... He could be using the sword creatively by using the sword's size instead of its range. Utilizing it as a giant buffer to lock his opponent's weapons and block his strikes instead of to deal damage. He never truly uses the sword offensively except to create openings and throw his opponent off balance with his weapon's superior weight. All so that he can get into a good position to deal real damage with what he's good at, his fists. I think what Fierach is trying to say is that James isn't a traditional swordsman but rather a brawler first and sword fighter second. The nodachi is simply a tool, meant to serve whatever purpose he needs at the moment and not just what convention says. And that, if anything, should get some points in creativity on his part. It shouldn't be condemned as "doing it wrong". My point is that he's hasn't been successful in conveying that so far. I'm not putting down his style. I'm just saying, if he's attempting to do that, then he should make it more obvious in his posts, in addition to making it more believable. I'm all for creativity in fights, but I'm convinced more if someone uses something that is meant for locking weapons, like sais or nunchucks, than just bringing in a very large sword that tries to stop weapons with just weight alone. There are better weapons out there that serve his purpose better. And a nodachi is the last weapon to think for that fact. And it's not "Wow, I didn't think of that." Some ideas aren't as great in application as they sound on paper.

Reach Hael... That one post gave up your strategy. Obvious Plan is Obvious. [Flicks your forehead.] Exceedingly naive.
Those who lose to me usually do because they presume they've got a handle for what I'm doing in its entirety, and they usually find that's just not the case, all too late.
All that post did was set the stage, it's perhaps 15% of what I actually intend to do, another 30% or so left up to how my opponent acts and so on.

You could use a nodachi for half-swording.
I mean, a European styled blade would be better, but.. you could do it o.O

Omi's back is to the wind.
Insert fire.
Opponent forced to jump off plateau slightly ahead of Omi.
Or at least there's part of the plan. Enough of it for my use.
Sounds reasonable enough (and Hael-like enough) for my purposes. I could very well be missing a million subtle details, but overall... I'm feeling this one.
Hael: I honestly don't really care how wrong I am. I'll be reading your fight with the same expectations either way.

Kazyan Yeah, you're totally the omniscient undefeatable Chessmaster with the Xanatos Roulette, amirite? Yes, oh ye over-user of terms such as amirite, orly, weaboo, and the thousands of other s**t you've pilfered from the loins of 4Chan and similarly overly-inspired shitholes from 4Chan, yes I am.
And Reach, again, that's at best a singular piece to the puzzle - YOU'VE SEEN AS FAR THROUGH THE OVERALL PLAN AS LuBu's left eyebrow hair.

You fought that bluespawn Burrower I had that one time, and you must have assumed that he transformed into a giant pile of muscle, teeth, and four foot long claws.

STRIKER! Your sword weighs HOW much? I better see some two handed usages. Even for this tournament, that's a bit high up there if you use that sword like it's light.
