I should drop the powerfist, but I'm limited as to what I have on the model itself there.

I'm weighing the price of the Meltaguns against the probability of killing at least one enemy vehicle if I'm careful with the unit and keeping it in cover until the last second. Yes, I know I'm short of men and options, hence the more valuable squads.

@Mac: I have been doing that with my leftover heavy weapons, but it's a gradual proccess; I haven't got them all integrated yet.

I'd have to drop the Russ or a platoon squad to get the Veterans, and I think I need both; being cut down to 2 infantry squads in exchange for the veterans would drop my numbers too low.

Giving the Commissar a Bolt Pistol instead of a CCW is a good idea.

If I could work the points out of this list, would a Basilisk, a Veteran Squad, or 2 Sentinels be the better alternative?

Dump the vox casters and master vox for now, it'll save you up 40 pts. and if possible, bump the point value to 1.250, so you can add in the Basilisk (minus indirect fire!) plus the veterans

I like the powerfist. It makes wounding a Marine a 2+ roll not a 5+.

hmmmm. Except the meltagun has a range of 12. That means 2 things. 1. Once you are able to destroy the vehicle it's already in assualt range so you haven't really gained anything. 2. The only vehicles that are going to be in that range are going to be transports. Which usually aren't worth much after they unload their cargo anyway. Or they're Falcons and good luck hurting them.

Go for the Basilisk DE. That thing saves lives(as far as saving a handful of my men to die next turn instead of this...). But then again, my choice may be heavily biased due to my love of both tanks and artillery.

So the humble beginnings of my AC have begun. I have a normal Russ, and a heavy weapon team for my Armoured fist

Today I ordered my Baneblade. Woohoo! I had to be heavily sedated for most of the day, as the rush of finally getting one after seven years of waiting got the better of me.

Ahem, YEEHAW!

Okay, you win Xenos Mortium, I'm also getting a Vanquisher, might as well get that over with now, a good tank killer is always welcome.

However, I am looking for opinions on the Cyclops, I've got one of those handy tomorrow and would like some thoughts on these future Goliath tanks.

What most guardsmen units do, shield the one behind it.

How do you use YOUR imperial guard infantry men?

1. as a speed bump, let the tanks do the talking.

2. as an unstobale tide of lazfire and raw manpower. (conscripts FtW)

3. as a gun line, every shot counts.

4. with as few men as possbile (fully upgraded units)

5. any thing else?
