Originally I started off on the Clarinet as my first instrument (for like a year), before I decided to play the Tenor which lasted for about two years till highschool then I had to switch to Alto for all my years at Highschool while playing in a Concert Band. But I enjoyed it a lot. smile

I played the flute for about a year but in 2 bands and now i bugged my school band teacher enough to let me play the alto and I've had it for less than two days now and I'm better than the other 2 saxes in our class

Hey. I play the alto sax. Does anyone use ZZs from Van Doren? They are great for marching season. I tried them this year, and I liked them alot. smile

Hikari Myst Hey. I play the alto sax. Does anyone use ZZs from Van Doren? They are great for marching season. I tried them this year, and I liked them alot. smile I play tenor primarily, so I'm not sure if there's a equilavent reed, but regardless, any tenors need to try playing on Vandoren Java 4's. They are incredible. Easy to play as a 3, but plays as loud as the four. They were my marching band supplement. Oh and, I had a couple that lasted me over a year. By the way, I play all three, but as I said, mostly tenor (since that's the one I own-- Yamaha XT2, I believe).

Hiii-Llo, Mites.
I am the only alto sax player in myband and I sit next to a white Mexican dude named Oscar who plays the tenor and bribes me to cover for his mistakes and "feeds" his Sax Pixie stix... gonk I have a really sad, 14 people in all band at my school, with depressed used instruments so life at my schools band class sucks. GO SEXY-PHONES!!!!! xp

I've played flute for 4 years now, and started playing the bari sax in jazz band about 2 months ago. I love it so much more than the flute :3

Okay, so.. I guess everyone should know what I play.... In the saxophones, I play the alto, tenor AND bari saxes, all rico size 4 or 4 1/2. Ive been playing since grade 6, and I am one of the best in my school. The one thing I have never been able to do well is improv, so Im not a good soloist. But.. I plan on going professional and mastering the bari sax in university. Strychnine Lovers I've played flute for 4 years now, and started playing the bari sax in jazz band about 2 months ago. I love it so much more than the flute :3 OMG< me too ^^ I started on flute in grade 5.. and im in grade 10 now. From there I picked up the alto, bari then tenor, and I have to agree with you when you say you love it better, its so much more fun to play! *hi fives*

Started out on Euphonium/DoubleBass in middle school, then when I went on to marching band in high school, switched to Tenor Sax. Oooooh yeah smile Considering going back and forth between Tenor and Bass for off-season smile
