((Now it's my internet's turn to be stupid. rolleyes ))
"It's really no problem at all," Keegan said, leaning back and making himself comfortable. He watched the horizon breezing by, feeling less sickly as he grew used to being on board the small ship. IT wasn't too long before he too fell asleep. He awoke a short time later, Kasiya still asleep against him, and he sat up, looking around. "Where are we?" he asked, rubbing his eyes.

"We're about to dock at Dewford," Mr. Briney responded cheerfully. "It won't be long now, me hearties!" He chuckled, the two Wingull up and flying around again, squawking loudly together.

"Alright," Keegan sighed, relief washing over him. He gently nudged Kasiya. "Hey, we're here," he said. "Time to get ready to go."

Kilik flashed his train pass, and took a step onto the metallic contraption. Flareon hopped from his shoulder, running over to a seat and jumping on. "You want to sit there?" he asked, sitting down, "Nice choice of seats." He crossed his arms over his chest and put one leg over the other, tapping his foot. His eyes cast to the metal ring on his shoulder. Kilik undid the latch, pulled out Scyther's Pokeball and let it out. The train lurched forward as the Pokemon materialized before him. Stars fluttered about the Pokemon flashily.

"Scy!? Scyther!" she flailed her scythes about.

"Settle down, Scyther!" Kilik barked, standing up. There weren't many other people on the train headed toward Petalburg; it was almost as if they had decided to stay at the beach. "Listen, you're not in that tube anymore."

"Scyther?" she blinked at her trainer, then crossed her 'arms' over her chest. "Scy!" she put her nose up in the air and shut her eyes, giving off an impression of being concided.

"Fine! Don't thank me for helping!" The boy growled, sitting back down quite angered by his Scyther's behavior.

"Scy SCY!" she barked out, sitting across from them, assuming a pose much like Kilik's.

The dirt trail of Petalburg was a pleasent tan color, a fact that Mike smiled at for some reason. "It's really pretty." He said as he knelt down and wrote his name in the dirt. He stood up and eyed his messy handwriting with a look of accomplishment, walking off down the path. The ocean waves seemed to call for him, a lure he contently succumbed to as he sat down on a rock near the shore.

The breeze wasn't as nice as back home, but it was alright in it's own sense. Mike leaned back on the toasty stone, closing his eyes. The waves crashing in the distance would have lulled him to sleep if he hadn't heard the commotion a few dozen feet away. "What's that?" He said to himself as he opened his eyes to an odd sight: A rather large Corphish was fighting an even larger Kingler.

Mike dashed over but kept his distance, those were sharp claws on both Pokemon.
PostPosted: Mon Aug 14, 2006 2:11 pm

The Kingler landed a Stomp move on the oversized Corhpish, grinding it's head into the sand. It beat its chest, taunting the now rising Pokemon. Corhpish let out a cry and lunged forward, Hardening his body and latching onto Kingler's claw with his own, using the Vicegrip move.

"Come on little Corphish!" Mike said, rooting for the underdog of the fight, or so he thought.

The Pokemon both glanced over for a mere second, then continued their fight. Kingler slammed his claw on the ground, hoping to shake the little crab Pokemon off, but to no avail. He pulled back to strike with his smaller claw but the Corhpish easily snagged the weaker little claw. The two were now face to face, neither able to move. Kingler fired a Bubble attack and Corhpish used Bubblebeam, the watery suds bursting and bouncing off of each other. The vastly larger Kingler tried to pull his claws out of the grip of the determined Pokemon, who was holding on so hard his claws were cracking. The larger crab saw this and let out a smile of sorts, Corphish Hardening his body like crazy. Soon Kingler freed his larger claw and beat the Corphish from his other one, but not without the little crab taking it with him. The Pokemon danced around with his enemy's apendage as the Kingler charged in a fury. The smaller of the two proceeded to bop his foe on the head with his own claw, but only a few times before being clubbed into the ground by the Kingler, who was stronger even with one arm.

Mike merely watched the intense battle, he'd never seen two wild Pokemon battling before.

Even though she was lost in thought, Flannery could hear the sounds of battle, and she looked up. Quite a ways down the shoreline, she could see Mike was watching a battle between what looked like a Kingler and a Corphish. Taking her Torkoal in her arms, Flannery stood up ontop of her rock to get a better view. It was a rather intense fight, and she watched with both amusement and curiosity.

The Kingler launched a Mud Shot attack, burying his opponent in the sand even more, Stomping on the pile in victory. He raised his one claw and shot a few bubbles into the air before scuttling off to the sea.

Moments later, a large claw burst from the ground, a rather large Crawduant lifting itself up. Pissed would be an understatement, this thing was furious. He skated off and tackled the half submerged Kingler the two now of similar size and power. Kingler backhanded the newly grown Crawduant with a Crabhammer, a bruise on his soft underbelly matching the odd chip in the Kingler's claw. The fatuiged Pokemon, a tad weakened from his evolution, danced around, using his new Sword Dance move. His attack raised, he launched one last Vicegrip attack, snapping a peice off of Kingler's crown. The defeated Kingler scrambled away, not wanting to lose any more limbs. Crawduant thrusted his hand in the air before succumbing to his wounds and collapsing. Mike walked over, staring down at the powerful Pokemon. He let a Pokeball roll out of his hand, capturing him with ease. He bent down and gave his newly filled Pokeball a hard look, picking up Kingler's claw. Mike ran the tip of it across the front of the ball, making a really cool looking scratch mark. He stood up and clipped his Pokeball to his belt, walking back to the Pokemon Center.

"Don't worry. You'll be safe with me...Xanthos."

Mike handed Xanthos's Pokeball to Nurse Joy, warning her about his agressive nature. She took it with a wave of her hand, telling him not to worry. Shrugging it off, Mike sat down at the PC, booting it up and signing on. He went into his box, and selected Proton's Pokeball. Dragging it over to a menu, be selected his home PC from the list and dropped the icon into the slot. He held up Shiver's Pokeball, giving it a kiss before inserting it into the machine. It gave a playful ding sound as a new Pokeball icon appeared in the pending tray. He dragged it too over and placed it in the home tray. He pressed ok, but not before writing an email to his mom.

Dearest mother,

I give you now the temporary use of two of my beloved Pokemon. Shiver you've met before, he's a lovely Pokemon and will be of little trouble to you. The other is my Magneton Proton, who I'm sure you'll become great friends with. You can use him to help power your experiments. Who knows, maybe you'll make something cool and send it my way?

Your best and only son,
Mike

The two Pokeball and envelope icons zipped off screen as Mike logged off of the computer. He walked past the counter to see surprisingly Xanthos's Pokeball in the tray with a little note beside it.

You weren't lying about him being a hardy fellow, but I'm sure with training he'll be just fine.

-Nurse Joy

Mike chuckled at the note and walked outside, the sun greeting him so warmly he almost expected it to wave.

Flannery smiled, watching Mike's incredibly easy capture, sitting back down as he headed back towards town. "That was interesting, wasn't it?" she smiled, gently stroking Torkoal's head. The fiery little tortoise looked up at her, and released another cloud of whith smoke into the air, which was soon carried down wind by the breeze.

Mike unhooked his Pokeballs from his backpack strap, tossing them all into the air. One by one his Pokemon released, Titanium easily making the most noise. They all stretched and began their normal conversations, No one seemed to notice the Crawduant quite yet. Beacon waddled over to the new face, waving with both his flippers. "Hi there." Xanthos merely gave him a funny look, noting the Pokemon as harmless.

Soon the other Pokemon all greeted the Crawduant, Xanthos neither liking nor disliking the company. He seemed content, not lashing out but not giving kisses either.

"Good enough." Mike said with a chuckle, patting his newest Pokemon on the head. "Guys, this is Xanthos. As you can see, he's new. Now I know you guys are a nice lot, so I'm sure you'll be fine." His Pokemon nodded and went back to their previous conversations, Mike kneeled down and presented his Pokemon with two discs. "This one here is Surf, it is a powerful attack that will also allow you to carry me on the water, trust me it's really fun." He placed the disc on Xanthos's head, the knowledge absorbing into him. He placed the HM in a sleeve and back into his backpack, placing the other disc onto his Crawduant. "This is Aerial Ace. From what I've been told, it won't ever miss." Following the dimming of the TM, Mike stood up and allowed his new Pokemon to try out his moves. Xanthos seemed genuinly pleased at the power behind his strikes and gave Mike a happy stomp on the ground. "Glad you like em'." The boy said as he sat down on a rock, his Pokemon still having a bit of fun by themselves.

"Hm, I wonder where Flannery went." Mike said, suddenly realizing the last time he saw her was in the Gym. He started to get up, recalling his Pokemon aside from Titanium. "Mind helping me out a little buddy?" He asked, the Steelix gladly lowering his head. Mike climbed on as Titanium lifted up his body, giving his trainer a much better view. Soon Mike spotted the red explosion of hair and asked his Pokemon to take him there.

Kasiya opened her eyes, and sat up, looking around curiously. She was pleased to see the area was now familiar, the shores of Dewford Island were oddly welcoming. She stood up, now mostly ignoring the lingering pain of her sprain, and hobbled across the deck. "Come on, Ariel," she said, waving to the Pokemon. She recalled Rosemary, who was still asleep, and was hit with sudden realization. "We've got to get to the Pokemon Center as soon as possible," she said, turning around and calling out to Keegan. "My Pokemon are still pretty weak from that last battle."

Kilik hummed a bit to himself. "Dun dun...dun dun da nuna. Dun Dun. Dun dun da nuna." He tapped his foot in rhythm. Flareon looked up at him, and barked the same tune. Scyther shook her head in shame, as if 'I can't believe this is my trainer'. The boy looked at his Pokemon. "What?" he stopped singing, "Don't like the way I sing?"

"Scyther Scyther Scy Scy Ther Scy." Kilik sighed, unlatched the ring on his arm and picked up the Park Ball.

"Fine. Maybe you don't enjoy the fresh air," he pressed the face button and enlarged the ball. A red beam shot out and took Scyther back in. Scyther let out a cry before disappearing into the ball. Flareon laughed a bit.

"Flareon?"

"Ready." The two began to sing the same song once more, Kilik slapping his thieghs to the beat.

Leaning back, and cosing her eyes, Flannery enjoyed the warm sunshine. She hardly realized she'd dozed off when Torkoal jumped down from her lap and started exploring on his own, the albeit slow, yet curious fire Pokemon eager to have an adventure of his own. A distant sound jolted the gym leader awake, and she sat up, rubbing the drowsiness from her eyes as she spied a large metallic sheen coming closer and closer. She squinted into the sunlight, realizing it was Mike perched atop Titanium, the mighty Steelix.

Mike leaned over the front of his Pokemon's nose, hovering over the Gym Leader. "Why hello there Drowsee." He said with a smike, his hair all flowing downward onto his face. "Norman's not in, and I left my Nav number for when he gets back, so what do you want to do until then?" He asked with a smile.

Kilik sighed, stopping his song and pulling his PokeNav out of his pocket. It took a bit of a struggle, since he wasn't standing. However, after a small battle with the small pocket, the PokeNav broke free. He scanned at the front of it, which displayed the time. He sighed, "Well, we should be there soon, right?" Upon ending his sentance, the train began to slow down, which made him lean to the left a small bit. Flareon hopped out of the seat, looking up at his trainer.

"Flare Flareon! Eon!" it barked happily.

"Yeah. We're here." He stood up as well, shoving his PokeNav into his pocket. There was a hiss of the train stopping. A horn tooted once, allowing all the people off the train. However, there weren't many people to let off. Many were getting on, though. Kilik hopped off the train, pulling his backpack up on his shoulder. "Petalburg City..." he whispered, looking up at the skylight. A plane flew overhead. He exited the train station, a few steps out. He sighed heavily.

"Now that we're here...what do we do?" he asked Flareon.
