She wrapped her arms around the other girl's waist and held her, trying to give any amount of comfort she was capable of. "Yeah.. I know. I'm sorry."

((woohoo, one liner.. I've been staring at this blank box for so long *A* ))

"Please," he said to Feline before turning, "excuse me so that I may deal with this...thirsty young Man."

His voice was feral and his eyes were wild. A hunter in the jungle was denied his prey for a third time.. And Pointlessly for the sake of Alcohol.

His yellow eyes flared as he barely masked a snarl at the young man. "I want you to think... Long and hard about this. The consumption and possession of alcohol on the temple grounds is prohibited." With a slight wink, one barely detectable, he continued. "I made the mistake of going to Drax...For my particular Party favor. Doubtful he'd even allow someone who happened to show an avid dislike for- or at least support the assumption of that dislike for- his leadership." His gaze was cold, his words fraught with warning. "Should you dare tread further into this, Look into the most recent face of death upon this cursed Island. You will find what you seek there.

Turning away, he re-approached Feline... But over his shoulder He glared the young man down with all the primal fury of a Lion pouncing upon it's prey upon the Savannah.

Perhaps a Round or two with Storm will earn the boy his drink....

But, this forced him to play a part in the obtainment and consumption of the alcohol... needless to say, Lorika would find this ever more so displeasing. But, Forewarning Storm was among the top of his Priorities...
**Cespanar would relay the message fast than Damien could possibly arrive at the blast sight.....

Damien watched the gigantic, hulking cat man with his usual indifference at first, but as Gwarn stalked forward and towered over him, jaws snarling, his eyes widened and flickered with fear. He didn't flinch or move, but his posture tightened, and his mind raced, wishing he'd brought Gloria out with him. Yeah, he wished his girlfriend was there to protect him. Pathetic, sure, but Damien wasn't a very good fighter, and he knew it. He had to know it, with all the put-downs he got.

He took a deep breath and tried to slow his hammering heart, and when he openned his eyes again they were cold once more. Of course, it helped that by this point Gwarn had turned away and returned to the lady he'd been talking to. His courage, and usual flippant lack of respect, returned.

"Yeah, okay, dude," he drawled, "But I feel sorry for your girlfriend if she can't see through that. Jeeze, man. Practise what you preach. And go buy some freaking mouthwash while you're at it."

With that, he turned and went back inside the Temple, walking normally... but as soon as he was through the doorway and out of eyeshot, he broke into a run.

Gloria looked up as he approached the table she was patiently leaning against, arms crossed. "Well?"

Damien gave a small sigh, and replied with incredulity. "Man, I almost got a beatdown from that guy! No wonder he hangs around with the Pig. They're both creepy as hell."

"So you didn't get anything?" she asked, though it was more like a statement. She rolled her eyes. "Typical. If you want something done right, you do it yourself."

"No- wait! Gloria," he said, catching her by the arm as she moved to storm off. He took her other hand in his, gently twining their fingers together. "Do you want to dance?"

Gloria could have screamed. What was it with men and saying the right things at the wrong times? She yanked her hand away ferociously. "No, I do not want to dance. If you'd asked me when I wanted to dance like five minutes ago I would've said yes, but right now I want a ******** drink."

"Alright, alright," he sighed, "Anything for you, my most darling flower of delight. But I'll have to go and get it from Drax."

Her facial expression immediately twisted. "Ugh, ******** Drax. Now you've almost changed my mind. Anything of his is bound to be disgusting."

"No, it's okay," Damien said bravely, flashing her a smile, "I'll do it. Thou shalt have thine booze, fair maiden."

"Ha, 'fair maiden,'" she barked. Her tone, however, was softened. She reached down and took his hand again, the one she'd thrown away so violently, locking their fingers back together just the way they'd been before. "That's a joke."

Damien reached down without a word, and their lips tenderly bumped together.

"Oh great," said Sam, approaching them from behind with his hands in his pockets in a posture the exact mirror of his brother. "I just escaped Jon and 'dellie staring into each other's eyes, then the minute I start walking over you two get all loved up. I feel like a lone single in the valley of the shadow of Cupid."

"Oh thank god," Damien said, turning around and giving his twin a high five. Sam returned the gesture automatically, practically robotic in reaction time, as if the two men were extensions of one another and shared the same patterns of thought. Which was strange, seeing as they weren't identical twins. "I won't have to go and confront old whatshisface alone. C'mon, let's go get some booze for my fair princess."

Sam blinked at him in surprise, but smiled, obviously game. "Awesome. You sure you don't want me to stay here and watch your girl, though? Keep her out of trouble while you're gone?"

"Oho," Gloria replied, "I'm not the one who needs my a** guarded. You go with your brother and make sure Drax doesn't break him too hard. I need him for later, you know."

~~~~~
And so it was that the two brothers entered the devastated courtyard, catching sight of the man they were looking for in the dim light.
"I feel like we're going to visit a drug dealer," Sam whispered in Damien's ear. He placed a hand on his brother's chest, barring him from approaching. "Maybe this isn't a good idea. We could get in big trouble. REALLY big trouble."
Damien looked back hard in his twin's eyes. "I don't want to let her down."
"Is that really it, or are you just trying to prove something? Because it's not worth it, Dee."
"Oh come on, lighten up! Let's just get the drink and go back in and have fun," he said, pushing past and going up to Drax. "Hey there! Your friend said you'd give us some booze..."
Just as Cespanar's message had said, Damien had come to collect some... Party favors.
The ethereal and putrid smoke still clung to The ground around him, wafting up slowly, trailing back in the cool breeze of the tropical winter. He had collected a few things from his astral realm after Gwarn warned him of their needs. A quick trip there and back had brought him a case with the finer brews of Gaia.... and some of the remaining stock from home...
home...
His eyes danced in the moonlight, I sly smile spreading his lips, one pointed incisor visible in the cracked line of his mouth.
"I have what you are looking for... But I want you to Do something for me."
From behind him came what at first seemed like a small dog, perhaps a malamute puppy, Turned into something far more grotesque.
The small dog slowly lowered into the ground, absorbed into the shadows, and from those same shadows emerged a man, his... pointed ears the first thing apparent in the moonlight.
Cespanar in human form stood beside Storm now, a tall, pale elf, dark in hair and strong in build.
A long cloak covered him, and he didn't speak, but there was a deep intelligence in his eyes.
"I will be... attending the ball with you. Just to make sure we are all-" Cespanar paused and looked to Storm, His very, very Spanish accent flowing past his lips, "-Well informed should anything happen."
Storm looked back to Damien and his brother.
"I would like for you to have someone meet me here. As repayment for the favor, of course. I would be rather saddened if I hear things go astray, and I will know... Now then."
He opened the case.
A veritable doomsday supply opened up before the two boys, something that every non-of-age man dreamed of.
"And due to the nature of this event," Storm Continued, picking out three bottles of alcohol, "I think these Rums will do you just fine."
"And one more thing..." he said, giving them to liquor. "Give the combat instructor my regards."
"Uhh..." Damien replied, looking at the bottles thrust into his hand. He looked at his brother, as if asking 'Should we even trust this guy? He seems kind of...
Sam knew what he was thinking, because he was thinking the exact same thing. Storm was creepy. Creepy, and possibly insane. The appearance of the strange man had unnerved them, but when you're surrounded by magic and teleportation, as they were at the Order, you get used to people appearing from nothing. It just happened to add to the strangeness of the situation.
And what was with all the threat dropping, anyway...? It was as if Storm thought he was the Godfather or something. Sam looked back at his brother with this in mind and flashed him a small smile. 'I would be rather saddened if I hear things go astray, and I will know...' Epicly funny, man. They'd get a good laugh out of his pomp later. Damien caught the look in his brother's eyes and returned it, his courage buoyed again thanks to his confidence.
"Who do you want to meet?" he asked, smirking, as Sam mirrored his expression, shoving his hands back in his pockets.
"Zuri," he said, His eyes rising from the rubble at his feet to meet their... contemplative faces. "We have something in common..." he stopped, thinking.
"Perhaps I might tell you after. In fact," he said, Finding a large enough chunk of exploded building to sit on, "I seem to have taken a liking to the two of you. Sometime we should get together after training, and I could tell you things about this.. 'Order' you should know."
"Things?" Damien asked, intrigued. "Like what?"
Oh, this should be a laugh.
"things that will wait," he said bluntly, "until the proper time and place."
The night was still young. He had other things to do, and now Damien was interested in the talking aspects he had hoped to have later.
"You will enjoy the knowledge when you are ready to learn it. Trust me... They will simply blow your mind."
A bystander would pause to think at the effects of the moonlight on the group... Or at least Storm. For some, unbeknown reason, the way it shone over his face, it would have seemed he had slight horns protruding from his forehead....
Damien was blunt. "Wow, man, you're full of bullshit," he laughed. Sam signalled to him, nodding his head back towards the devastated hallway at the exact same time Damien turned and did the same to him. They grinned at each other and began to move away in same lingering step. "But uh, we'll tell Zuri you wanna talk to her when she pops in next. S'not up to us if she actually turns up, though!"
They didn't even mention that, as they themselves were incapable of speaking coherently in her presence, it would be down to Gloria, and there wasn't a hope in hell of Gloria choosing to play along with Drax.
"Ciao!" Sam chimed, and the two boys broke into a run.
"You know," came a small, feminine voice from the shadows as they disappeared around the bend, "If you'd wanted to talk to me, you could've just said so. You didn't need to bribe two little boys with liquor. But I suppose that's more in your nature, isn't it?" she purred, though the last few words had an unpleasant bite to them. As if she disapproved. But why would a demon disapprove of another...?
"Not just to get your attention..." He smiled, knowing that he had accomplished exactly what he had set out to do. He turned to the demoness, Eyes still lingering slightly in a more feral state. "but to make sure the party is given some... Spice," his words were true, but there was a further meaning behind it.
"Regardless... I need to know why you are here." His smile played itself off, and his eyes were serious. "You are trying to accomplish something I have tried to for my entire life. You wish to conquer the monster withing you."
A heavy resigned sigh fell from his lips.
"If you still have hope of vanquishing your inner beast... Perhaps I should not lose all hope in winning that same battle."
Zuri ignored all reference to herself, merely taking him up on one of the first things he'd said in a businesslike manner. "'Spice?' I'll have you know that these humans are under my protection, and all of us are just here to have a good time, so if you're planning something nasty I'd urge you to get that idea out of your head right this second."
"Oh, come now. You aren't being very sporting at all," His expression mimed dejection, but his eyes showed he was simply playing.
"I waited for a long time... Plans are never anything but nasty. I simply wish to see this small scale experiment to it's end. Truly... If on a night like tonight, should an enemy be poised to strike, even Jubilation must come with moderation." He slipped off of the stone seat he had acquired earlier, and walked about a little, stretching his legs.
"I have wanted to see how things here would hold up, should the combat division fall into it's own shortcomings. Drama is the weakness of all organizational structure... And Liquor is one of the two main causes of Drama."
His face was stone now, no expression whatsoever.
"Tell me, how would you feel, if these humans you are so adamant of protecting, couldn't fair for themselves in the least, not even against something they would normally have no trouble dealing with?"
his hair was blowing in the breeze that was seeming more and more like a steady low wind than a cool winter air.
"My intentions are the same as yours, even if we stand on opposite sides of the board now. They aren't prepared for true combat. And this will most certainly make that evident if they cannot account for their own actions."
He turned his back to her now, a risky move. Something most would call a mistake. But for him, it wasn't. He could feel her, just as she could feel him. They were not of this world.
And from his astral Prison, Sarevok laughed more than he had ever believed he could. The situation became better and better, and he knew that soon, very soon, Storm's inner anguish would set both the monsters free.
"...Wow," Zuri said quietly, her pampered, reedy voice voice heavily laden with disgust, "Way to get into the Christmas spirit."
"You know, with an attitude like that, you'll never make any friends. I FEED on these people, and I've still made one or two."
There was no big fanfare to signal that Zuri had left - no sudden stilling of the air, or any movement whatsoever. From that moment on, however, anything Storm said, any calls he made for her return, would be met with a silence like that of stone.
As great as friends may be... They are a luxury he just couldn't afford. Letting someone in, letting them get close... Better to know that someone that could defend themselves was behind you, so you'd not have to constantly worry for their safety. What he wanted... What he needed, were soldiers. Men and women ready not only to defend themselves, but take the battle elsewhere.
Zuri Was one that he knew he'd be able to count on later... She may not like him, but she can respect him for what he was. And she was already perfect, like him, an instrument of death... no one can escape their monster. Not a half god, not a half demon, not even a human. but Monsters are what are needed... Monsters are what fight wars.
With the Sentinel Ruling the rest of Gaia... something would need to be done.
The music slowly began to fade and the crowd applauded. Mirassou took a little bow in gratitude. He wanted to say a quick little something before he announced the last request.
"All right, before I get to the next request, I'd like to thank you for giving me the opportunity to sing one of my very favorite songs onstage," the boy said, smiling. "It was awesome!"
The crowd laughed in response, applauding some more.
"Okay! Now the third and final request! Who's got it?"
The crowd fell silent. People looked around to see if anyone was going to request another song, but nobody said anything.
"Aww, really? Nobody's got one? C'mon, there's gotta be somebody who's got an idea for a song!" Mirassou said.
Still everyone remained silent.
Until someone far in the back, completely unnoticed by the crowd and all the partygoers made their presence known.
"DO FOOTLOOSE!! THAT SONG'S AWESOME!!!" the person yelled as loud as possible.
People turned around to find the source of the voice, but no one could see who it was.
"Uhh...okay," Mirassou said. "Footloose, that's a good choice! One of my favorites too. Great choice to whoever you are!" He and the crowd laughed.
The band began to play the song and Mirassou began to sing it. The beat got the crowd dancing and moving with some even singing along with the waiter onstage.
~
Meanwhile, the girl in the pink wig heard the song being sung and looked over toward the stage.
"Funny," Alexi said to herself. "That was Total's favorite song..."
