But in those romance novels they go through levels of attraction, not just straight to sex. That makes them smut novels not romance novels.
And then when said sex comes around it's usually for love. Sure there's a bit of lust but the underlying thing is love.

*points to above comment from Frac* Couldn't have said it better myself. Bottom line, love is always involved because that's what lasts. Not lust. Lust fades, love endures. Isn't that what you used to preach Jason?

Zahara might not swing that way, but Laudi does! MWA HA HA HA!
*shrugs* The Sarah Douglas novels, which rlays heavily on forbiddin, got really freaking annoying with the amount of sex in there. There was no story, it was all just sex. No love. I threw the book.
Terry Goodkind has a romantic story, and does nto relay on it as a seller. In fact, it's much more interesting to read, because Richard loved Kahlan long before they had sex, which was not until the end of the second book, which did not count for reasons they explain in the book that are odd and confusing, and then not again until after they were married at the end of the fourth book.
I need to read Temple of the Winds again, that was a good book.

Ah yes, the Sword of Truth wielder Richard Raul, and dear Kahlan, who was some kind of revered mother. with that really neat skill to force obediance by touch. I ready the first book in that series. Iliked that one woman...the one that has the ability to use magic against someone.
And I still preach that Love endures and Lust fades. but that doesn't mean that forbidden lustful encounters do not inherintly become far more fiery and sexually arousing or fufilling in teh short run.
Oh and starry can start ranting now about how much a b*****d malik is hehe

^^ You shouldd read the other 8 novels. Excpet for the fifth one, they are all amazing. Kahlan is the Mother Confessor, who with one touch can make any person love he so much that they will o absolutly anything for her, including confese their deepest sins (which is what she is useed for, to foind out who the giulty are) and if she tells them to die right then and there they keel over, dead. She's the last, becasue Richard's father hunted them all down and killed them with the intention of then taking Kahlan and breeding, making a male child who is a wizard and a confessor, known in the past to be disatrouse. Oh my, that was all in the first book, wasn't it?
Denna! I loved Denna. She shows up in the second book as a good spirit, and I tihnk again in the fourth book.
Cara, Cara is definatly my favorite Mord Sith.
Oo oo oo! Richard kicking Princess Violet in the teeth. That HAD to be the best part.
Course, Zedd always made me laugh.
WARREN! But you wouldn't knowhim, we meet him in the second book. Ah, I love Warren.
"Prindin? Not Prindin!" <- The single best quote from the second book. Lindsay would know what I'm talking about.
