berryscary1 mymiridon That's true. And they keep trying to get us to read in highschool, but it doesn't really work. I don't think anyone actually does the summer reading talk2hand what's summer reading? xd @mym.. isn't crappy slang.i'm not sure if it is but if it is that's kinda funny summer reading is reading assigned over the summer. and btw, right now I really hope that english isn't your first language. @niph: they give us a list of what's "appropriate" before we get out for summer vacation. Which is kind of sad since most of those books are for middleschoolers. i'd know, i read one of them stare

tamcharles You know you guys all love school... remember that the more you know, the further you'll go. that's a misconception. the more you know the more you're going to be disgusted with this society and eventually become the next unibomber (sp?) or the guy who goes up the corporate ladder becomes vp then gets blamed for everything and arrested sentenced to 20 yrs in prison after the company crashes the next day and billions of dollars and jobs lost. ninja

..whilst not going as far as yalie has there, I think I agree to some extent. Notice how none of the brightest people in the world are in politics. They know enough to have the sense to stay away from power, and 'going far'ness. P:

I don't have a steadfast opinion concerning politics in Britain, but in all honesty, I don't trust a single one of our politicians. I just think the system is generally screwed up, if you forgive me for saying so. Then again, you can't have a perfect system that will make everyone happy...

B&B dear, don't let yourself have sweeping, generalising opinions about something which you yourself confess to not know about. Whilst there are flaws in the British constitution, it is at least fairly alright. I'll go into more detail if you want.. but the main thing is -- it's too easy to believe the cynical politicians-are-slimy-and-evil view and indeed this is quite a popular view to take; however it is not, in fact, true. Try to at least understand what something is before criticising it. (;
Personally I like our dear PM right now. And David Milliband, he's rather good.
@yalie - I didn't say there weren't any bright people, just not the brightest of people. P:

@B&B: In the immortal words of Winston Churchill, "There aren't any perfect gov'ts but America's pretty damn close." Or something to that effect. and I'm pretty sure it's Winston Churchill.
@niphz: I know, but they're few and far inbetween. I can't say it's not the people's fault because it's certainly is. We must a very uninformed bunch... I learned in politics that a majority of Americans don't know what they're voting for half the time. :shakes head:
