I don't know, but I really think this needs to be discussed and decided quickly.
If it is allowed to go on then this will be one more instance where people talk and fixing problems is pushed to another day...and then another day.
We need to do something as soon as possible or membership is only going to continue to drop.

@des: you can make the character itself of course, though. You just can't autorank. My advise to you would be to convince one of the nation leaders to make you captain. That would autorank you to adept.

@talent: we're not changing the arc. We're finishing this damn thing, and then we'll reopen whatever cities are left.

@Fen: I don't know who is the leader of what, but I saw a list, and there seemed to already be several Captains for each nation.

Just wanted to chime in. This would get very broken very fast, the only thing sub-classing gets a person is an extra skill set, not benefits or negatives, for that matter some classes don't have enough varied negatives to result in any being feasible for a cross classing so just leave it as no stat or characteristic boosts or losses for sub classes.

On the subject of house cleaning..... God yes, even aside from the subforums just figuring out the rules and stuff here is like sorting through a natural disaster. One subforum for making your profile but then put bloodline requests in a different sub-forum. You make one subforum for basic skills and another for custom skills but you put talent and summon requests elsewhere.

Then the forum for normal skills only applies to weapon, magic, and class but for bloodline you have to go to a separate forum again. It takes a lot of time just to figure out where to go for what let alone to get started. I would suggest to start the house cleaning with reorganizing the art of war sub forum, skills, and custom skills. Additionally examples or explanations for what is expected skill wise at each level would help enormously for the custom threads as would an actual system for creating a summon similar to that for necromancers creating undead. Then there would be less OP stuff slipping in as there would actually be a standard to follow.

Also as it stands if you add to the quest thread in art of war some requirements quest wise to reach each rank or explain what ways to reach a rank there are you can remove the air of favoritism and possible cheating that exists in the background now. If people actually have to reach milestones to get to a level then no matter who is where it won't be a thing of well you get on well with the ruler of your nation, here's a promotion or s**t guys, we want to build an army, free promotions for everyone!!!!!

As an additional note, I have been happy to not see the giving of promotions abused, but as it is the fact that could easily happen exists and I'm sure plenty of people are aware of it even in the back of their minds. Best to remove problems before they kick in.

Edit: Oh and also, limiting the amount of arbitrary decisions by mods would give newer people faith in the guild. As it is I've seen a lot of decisions by individual mods without discussions among others since my first week here and I've noticed a few people ask questions, get chewed out, and disappear early on. A more friendly approach and more open discussion about people's ideas or why it isn't done that way instead of I say so could go far for making it newbie friendly.
