"I- um," Gloria choked, unable to muster a reply.

Steff, her stomach turned to lead at the sound of Gloria's voice, brought herself to turn around at that moment. When she saw the look on the instructor's face, however... all that she could do was laugh. Her dread lifted immediately. Goodness. This was the confrontation she'd been avoiding all night? Hilarious!

Who cared what smelly old Gloria thought anyway? She'd had a fantastic evening so far. Nothing was going to ruin that.

"Hi Gloria!" she sang, throwing her arms around Odin's neck for a hug. "This is some party, huh? I love your dress!"

The other woman looked back at her blankly, seemingly incapable of comprehending what was going on in front of her. Steff. Odin. Together. Odin. Steff. Together. It would all sink in after a few minutes, probably... and then what would happen...?

"You look DIFFERENT...!" she finally managed to blurt, her eyes fixed on Odin. Steff smiled a catlike grin and snuggled her even more forcefully.

"She does, doesn't she?~"

Minding the awkward gaze the battle instructor was giving her Odin shrunk into Steff's hug and darted her eyes back and forth nervously. Her face was flushed and it was apparent that she was finding it hard to figure out what to do next.

"A-ah, thank you," she replied slowly. "Uhm, you look nice tonight as well," Odin added quickly forcing a nervous smile on her lips. Oh, goodness.

Gloria was looking like she was still processing the information and Odin wondered what would be her fate once she finally came to a conclusion.

Well, at least the b*****d hasn't found me yet.

Gloria looked at them blankly a few more moments, before turning her back to them sharply and marching off again through the crowd.

"Hehehehe," Steff giggled mischieviously, "I think we broke her brain!"

Odin watched as the other girl left without another word to either of them. She let out a big breath as if she was holding it in the entire time. Her head slumped onto Steff's shoulder as she mumbled against it. "Oh, dear. If that's the case I think I'll be dreading the next training session I have with her." She let out another sigh which sounded more like an exasperated moan.

After the song, Mirassou decided to toss out another offer of request.

"Did you like that guys?" the boy asked, receiving a warm round of applause and cheers as his answer. "How about we take two more requests? Then there are a couple of other songs I'd like to do, and then I think that should take us to just about the end of our time together."

A few crowd members "awww"-ed.

"Now, now, don't worry," Mirassou assured them. "I've enjoyed our time together too. But there are so many other wonderful things planned for you this evening. So...any other requests guys?"

Someone in the crowd piped up, "DON'T STOP BELIEVIN'!!"

The instant the words filtered in through the waiter's ears, Mirassou had to hold his excitement back. That was one of his all-time-favorite songs. He decided to take it and run with it.

"All right guys, here's Don't Stop Believin'!" he announced as the band began to play.

"We're BOO, can't you tell?" Nester blurted to reply, but then Julian whispered urgently, "Nester, we're too young to join, remember?"

"SHH you" came the response, but everyone heard anyway. "Okay, so we're not BOO, but we wanna be! And it's our duty to keep SINners like HIM out!" he added, pointing viciously at Xeiashi.

"...I've told you enough times, I'm not SIN..."

"I still don't believe you! So are you going to help or not?"

Alexi sighed. She had enough on her hands dealing with Zain's involuntary sugarhigh-ness, now she had to deal with a bunch of kids throwing accusations around. It was time to end this, and end this NOW. She stepped closer to the kids and bent down to their level.

"Look you guys, I don't know why you're accusing Xei here of being in SIN, but this Temple accepts former SINners as long as it's clearly established that they've joined The Benevolent Order," Alexi explained. "Even if Xei was a SINner, if he's here then it's proof that he's on the side of good, and that he's in The Benevolent Order, get it?"

She looked back at Xei.

"Besides, I would be able to tell if he was a SINner or not," she added. "I...know what SINners are like..." Her voice trailed off as she began to recall her time in captivity in a SIN dungeon. Perish the thought! she ordered herself, shaking the thought from her mind.

His eyes were less Down Cast at this point.
How could anybody possibly understand that he was a hunter... And that being said, had to hunt. His first setback since the trial, and everyone makes an enormous fuss over it.
"Look," he said, his tone less and less sad by the second, "I have been cooped up around here, with no possible ventilation..."
Staring into her eyes, the warmth slowly draining from his, he continued.

"The flamboyant Merman should have had more coming to him... But I stopped. By the point I left, I could have done whatever I wanted. I restrained. But, the pompous a** has no respect for that encroaching fear that twists in your gut when you know you could have just been killed in plain sight, and no one would ever possibly know what had happened."

Standing, He paced two steps to each side while he let loose.
He knew he had feeling for Fel, The fact that she was the closest thing to him since he came here... Closest friend.
It was wiped from his mind by the thoughts of that ever-so-humble prince in the hall.

"he openly challenged someone clearly inebriated... When he knew that he was previously outmatched... And, I am ashamed to say my tolerance for alcohol is lacking. In the state I was in, Being in a social environment was a very bad idea. But..." he cleared his voice and stopped pacing.

"I have been holding back too long regardless." The alcohol no longer in his system, he was simply emotionally unstable and about to do anything.
Reaching out, he brought the back of his hand to the side of her face, a single, gentle stroke.

The anger having vented off, having cooled down, he saw this damage that he had wrought.
"Fel... i can't say it wasn't my fault.. But you have to believe I didn't wholly cause it... And kissing him... just... Ewww...."
His finger under her chin, he applied a
slight pressure, and looked solemnly in her eyes.

"to be honest... It was frustration from not being this close to you that made me do that..."

"Ooh, I love this one too!!" Steff exclaimed, grabbing both of Odin's hands and swaying from side to side with the other girl. "Oh, hey, but here's a question! If you weren't here with me - and if you could go with aaanyone in the Order you wanted - who would it be?~"

Gloria, meanwhile, was back out of the crowd and slowly re-approaching Damien. The expression on her face was haunted by the knowledge that what had been seen could not be unseen.

"Hey! So did you find out who the mystery man is?" he asked. She brushed straight past him and to the drinks table, where she placed both hands on it to support her weight as she leaned forward. Damien, ever tactful, slid up to her side and slipped his hand around her waist. "You didn't stay very long," he observed, wisps of fair hair falling forwards as he bent his head to brush his lips against her ear. "Not as charming as you thought, eh? Couldn't wait to get back to me?"

Usually, Gloria would've been more than likely to give him a firm shove and tell him to get over himself, but she didn't say a word or make a move even as he pressed indecently close. Eventually, she just shook her head and sighed, turning in towards him and reaching up to grip at his shirt for comfort. "I could really use a proper drink."

Odin's half-gaze on the retreating battle instructor was broken when Steff pulled her back into whatever semblance of dancing they were previously engaged in. When Steff suddenly voiced her question she had nearly stumbled and fell on the other girl.

"W-whaaat??" she sputtered. "W-what do you mean by that? I barely know anyone else h-here.. And even if I did," she tucked her head under the shadow of her hat again before continuing. "Even if I did.. I wouldn't go with anyone." She hoped the heat on her face was just an after-effect of their encounter with Gloria, but she highly doubted that.

((Your posts are always PERFECT <3))

"Aww, that's a shame!" Steff replied, apparently not picking up on the other girl's awkwardness. She may have been storing it away for the future, but Steff was a pretty upfront girl, so she probably really had missed it in her cheerful dancing mood. "I wanted to introduce you to more people earlier, but... actually, I only know most people here by name, and they don't know me, so it'd be kinda like the blind leading the blind...!" she laughed.

"Hi, I'm Steff, this is Odin! Odin, this is Jeremy! What's that, Jeremy? How do I know your name? I know EVERYTHING about you!" she imitated, bouncing and giggling maniacally. "Actually, that'd be AWESOME! We should do that soon!"

"Hey, you wanna know a secret?" she continued, dropping her voice a little. She leaned in closer, eyes bright with secrecy. "There IS a guy I would've liked to come here with...! But you can't tell anyone, okay?! I'd never ever ever ever hear the end of it if Gloria got wind of this!"

(( ;w; d'aww, thanks~ ))

Odin looked up as Steff spoke animatedly. She put a finger to her lips contemplating the other's offer. "Uh.. I guess that would be.. okay," she said slowly, an amused look gracing her features. She openly laughed at the possible scenario Steff was enacting but stopped abruptly when she leaned closer to her and spoke in an urgent matter.

"Ah.. Sure. I wont tell," she replied, startled a bit by the sudden seriousness in her tone.

Steff's fervent bopping to the music slowed, and she turned her head from one side to the other, craning her neck until she saw the person she was looking for. "There! Do you see the man in the brown suit with the pretty elf in the big, flowy dress?"

She pouted a little. "You probably recognise him from training. That's Jonathan. He's... the sweetest guy ever..."

She trailed off sadly, but by that point she didn't really need to say any more.

Odin followed her gaze and found who she was talking about, giving a nod when she recognized him.

"Aww.. He looks like a nice guy," she said softly. "You've known each other long..?" Her question was met with silence as she looked back at Steff who wore an uncharacteristic frown on her face.

"Hey," she said poking a finger at the girl's cheek. "Are you okay? You don't worry about him tonight." She withdrew her hand and tried to give a comforting smile. "You have me tonight, okay?"

As if that could make up for it, she scolded herself. But it was worth a shot.

Steff gave her a small smile. "Thanks, Odin... I'm okay. It just hurts cos... I just always feel like I kinda get overlooked. Left out. You know what I mean?"

The blonde girl sighed and came forward for another hug, wrapping her arms tightly around her new friend's neck. "Crummy boys...!"

((ADDITION smile )

Meanwhile, Damien was poking his head around the door of the entrance. He caught sight of Gwarn - well, he wasn't exactly easy to miss - and approached with his hands in his pockets, ignoring the fact that he and Fel seemed to be having a serious conversation. "Hey, tiger dude. You got any of that booze left? This party's too dry for my girlfriend's liking."
