Hi everyone! Welcome hoobamo? Did I write that out correctly? Sorry that I haven't been online in a long, long time, since before my spring break right? I've been busy with school, work ( I got a job at a library smile ) and life in general.
I have like about 2 weeks of spring semester left, then I'm free until the summer session starts at my local community college. Yay for more school! I want to finish my lower division general Ed. I have 3 classes left to go; political science, math 115, and art. Plus if you don't count my spanish classes for my spanish minor that I have to take.
And on a side note, Turayza, you usually start speeches with something that pertains to your subject. I usually went like 'Did you know that people are deadly afraid of doctors?', but that's a persuasive speech.

Yeah, our common room is moving relatively slowly--but we've all been busy.
I haven't really had any hard-core school stuff...Track/Field takes up 3 hours every day, and piano another hour, but that's all XD Being a freshman is so easy x3
That's a good idea, para. Introductions are so boring...Maybe I can start with something like "Why are you here? Why are you listening to me?" XD That's depressing.
Spanish! Thinking about it makes my brain hurt .__. There are way too many tenses to remember x.x Just the other day, I was wondering why there were 'b's in the verbs...I felt like an idiot after reading the instructions and seeing 'imperfect'. I has 0 language talent. >.>

Wow! I'm so excited! I came in second for House Cup Points for Ravenclaw, but won the raffle!
Congratulations to gina787, who won a Fortune Egg!!!! They're, like almost 200,000 now!
And I changed my name: I'm now ARoseLight (was Lightkin) I missed Escape to Witch Mountain - but I read Alexander Key's book! Typical Ravenclaw!

Congrats! Yeah, Turayza, my boyfriend is really bad with languages also. Only speaking them though? I'm bad with languages as well, I was bad with Japanese, well not too bad, I got an A in a college course in it.
I seem to have a fried brain and can't concentrate at all, I have a lab practicum next tuesday and the following week the 12th is the lecture final. I'm up to my head with studying and stress. I have to write a 5 page research paper for chicano studies class, read the book and study for the final. Anthropology is relatively easy, yay! On a good note, I'll be done with school (until june 23) by 3 weeks.
I'm signing up for the fall semester but I can't seem to get the classes I want on the days I want. It is very annoying. That's the life of a college student.

That's the life of a college student. Ooh, that's awful! Especially with the Swine Flu going around (you're in S. California, right?)...try to sleep as much as you can, and eat healthily. Don't die >.> Argh, I always plan out all my schedules and everything and then the school tells me that the classes don't fit T__T; Oh well. What classes do you want to take?

Since the House Cup was FINALLY awarded I can start posting the points I've been keeping track of since January towards the new term (Jan-June)! There aren’t very many since most points are for entering contests, and there haven’t been any to enter since December.
Speaking of December, I, uh, I have some news... sweatdrop Okay, I've been a moderator Prefect since December. I never formally announced it because I wasn't supposed to until the House Cup was awarded. If you ever checked the guild homepage where mods are listed, or the Hogwarts Houses thread where members' status' are listed, you'd have noticed without an announcement.
Anyway, because none of the HoHs besides LHH host contests or issue points, and she's not going to be active anymore, she wants someone else to be Head of Ravenclaw.
She asked me because she said that she always thought I should've been a Ravenclaw, and because I'm the most active Prefect. I won about 85-90 points for my topics/posts/contest entries alone, and the 50 points I got for Special Services to the School is what put Gryffindor over the top to win.
I was very flattered that she asked me, of course. However, I wasn't sure if Ravenclaw would resent having a Head that came from a different House. Anyway, after thinking it over, I realised that no other Prefects are as active as me, so me being HoH would probably be best for the guild. I thought that I should do what's best for The Haven, so I accepted. I hope that none of the Gryffs think of me as a traitor, and that no Ravens are offended that LHH asked me instead of you.
I promise to be a fair Head of House with issuing points when I see great threads/posts, and when I host contests. LHH will still run Accio Funds and issue the prizes for the contests that I host. I’m actually putting up a Mother’s Day Contest, so look out for it! smile
I don’t know if many of you have seen my posts around the Haven for the past year, but I ALWAYS posted in blue because it’s my favourite colour, so maybe it was a bit of foreshadowing going on…..Anyway, you’ll be seeing a lot more of me in the common room from now on, and I want to make a good first impression so *drumroll* Chocolate Frogs for everyone! biggrin

I don't mind having a gryffindor for a HoH. I know you are going to be fair and everything.
Welcome Jesus lover to Ravenclaw. Hope you have fun here and enjoy the company!
Turayza, yeah, I'm taking care of myself. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to get the re-named human influenza virus. I live about 1 1/2 away from the border, I'm not that close. I want to take political science 101, psychological stats 220, spanish 301 (advanced spanish), and depending on the day film studies or visual and performing arts history for my arts class.
I should be studying but instead I'm on here. smile

Thanks, Gina and Para! It's so nice to feel welcomed into my new House by the Ravens that I have to watch over. heart
Gina, that's so great! smile I won an egg too for earning the most points in all of The Haven. it makes me happy because now, as an HoH, I can only issue points. I can't normally earn them anymore.
I used to love playing in the game threads with you, Para, but I suppose that you normally only post in the common room now, right? I know the feeling about college homework. I have a 10 page paper due on Tuesday, so I need to go start it. Thank Merlin that my term ends in 2 weeks. Heelllooo Summer!!! biggrin
Out of curiosity, who's the oldest in Ravenclaw? It's LHH, isn't it? I know PadfootsPet is the Granny of Gryffindor, and she's only 22! I'm 19 and an English major that wants to be a primary school teacher in case anyone is wondering.

I'm 21 so I may not be a Granny but I'm up there! I'm loaded with stuff for class. I have an investigation proposition due Tuesday but I suffer from this a modern day disease called procrastination (I'm sure you've heard of it) so I'm on here instead.
