"Good!" Because he wasn't spread out, he re-latched almost immediately, they teleported back into his flat in another loud, firey VOOMPH.

The spirits spread from her in a fine grey smoke, regrouped, and continued to watch...

Saiya collapsed on the floor, eyes wide with terror. "Y-y-you--" she stammered out, before clapping her hands over her mouth and biting down, hard, on her lip to keep from becoming incomprehensible. Saiya had that much sense, at least. After a few minutes, she burst out, "What the hell is wrong with you?"

"Nothing. Nor is there anything wrong with you."

Siat smiled childishly and offered his hand to help her up.

She stared at his hand, disbelieving. "You just dropped me like twenty-thousand feet." Saiya sat up, glared. "What are you plotting?"

"And yet, you're unhurt. Funny that."

Siat left his hand hanging there.

"Look, I didn't say my training was going to be easy. In fact, it's not, it's going to be exhausting and absolutely terrifying. That was my training on a level 1, imagine it on a 10. Now, get up."

She reluctantly accepted his hand, and stood. There was a silence while she considered. Training with him would at least allow her to keep tabs on him, to know when to run when he finally decided to turn her in. "...will you just warn me before you do something like that again?" she said at last.

"No. Now, tell me what part of you you want trained the most."

"Reflexes," she said, instantly. Saiya was already fast, but it didn't hurt to be a little faster. Made running away from people in unfamiliar territory much easier.

"OSHI--" As the runes engulfed the staff Shouyin quickly released it, unaware of their actual effect, but not wanting to hold a thing covered in the kind of symbols that could do most anything if you knew your s**t. The wrecking ball would smack off the pavement as the layer of Shadow separated Shouyin from his element, much to his distaste.

"Hmmz..." he'd exhale slowly, sorta mulling over things during this brief moment of peace within all that chaos nonsense. Suddenly, his eyes would flare, and overtop the runes scrawled about his right arm a burst of Shadow flames would erupt in time with the explosion of his staff, engulfing his t-shirt and burning it away but leaving his flesh apparently unharmed. The flames would spread across his chest, and fall around his left arm, coating it along with his right. Gradually the fire would die out, and both of Shouyin's arms, up to the upper corners of his chest, would be layered with a hardened sheen of Shadow; the onyx-looking armor absorbing light in a manner quite similar to that gate that held Nothing.

Flexing his new guns, the half-golem would then try to apply some Shadow manipulation jazz to this platform beneath him-- not a whole lot of concentration offered, just a testing of the waters to see if he could clear away some of the crap about his feet. In time with this he'd try briefly to analyze the nature of the layer, and the remaining Shadow clones before taking his own fighting stance, right arm and leg taking the lead.

"Come on, let's do this."

"Nah, you seem fast enough, let's work on technique."

He didn't really care what she wanted to train, instead opting for the "I'm the teacher so listen to me" approach.

"Show me a combo move."

::Its amazing how easy it is to do some things if you really try and do said things. Shadow Armor, shadow flame, he was growing fast. He didnt even use the book for those, but Shouyin it seemed had learned a very useful lesson, for simple commands, a Shadow Wielder doesnt really need runes at all. It was as easy as giving a command, and one could even swear there was a voice in the distant corner of Shouyins mind which whispered "As you wish..." as he commanded the flames.

And in the distance the woman adjusted her seating and smiled a most amused.

As he tried to reach into the shadows below he would feel resistance. It was less like he could not reach and more like the shadows themselves didnt want to listen. In conversation it would be similar to the shadows seeming very hesitant and then saying "no."

But, more analyzation would have to wait until after the fight was over. As the main shadow warrior broke into a full dash the ground almost adding an extra spring to his step to give him extra speed, and finally once within attack range he broke out a straight right punch at Shouyins face.::

She didn't say what she wanted to--why even ask if you'll make your decision regardless of my response?--but instead demonstrated two short punches and a scissor-kick.

God, she had a feeling she was going to regret taking on this 'training'.

Shouyin would furl his brow in disappointment at the floor's denying response and make a 'tch' sound before this assailant of his began its attack. Well, at least like this there was only one of them, and tougher or not Shou was gonna break him.

As the punch came in Shouyin would duck in and underneath, the fist just brushing past the top of his head as he bent down low. Keeping his left hand up by his face, the half-golem would step forward with his left, rearing back his right arm in time with the step and throwing a heavy straight right punch for the clone's right knee, aiming to bash it in backwards.

Owle Isohos
"Whoa!" Owle shouted as she suddenly found herself being held by Knights, who was running as if all of hell was at his heels. Which, if Vahn had noticed what was going on while the purification ceremony was throwing him into a wall, might well be true in a few moments.

"What the hell?!" she exclaimed, twisting and turning in Knights arms. She wanted to be put down, but she also wanted an explanation, first.

"Where are you taking me? Put me down!"

To punctuate this, she pounded him lightly with her fist.

Knights actually sweatdropped when the hand hit him. He looked kind of embarassed, like he hadn't exactly been thinking things completely through when he'd picked up the smaller Owle.

"Well...you see...I know it's just been a day." A bend was rounded, he was making fast tracks to the beach, Jean was pulling something out of her pocket.

"And...um...I KNOW, we're kind of repeating ourselves here. But in all honesty, we didn't think this would all happen so fast..."

"MONTHS, Henry predicted..." Jean's voice was bitter. "He should really stop underestimating mortals like this, we'll get a bad reputation..."

He stopped when he hit sand, knowing there wouldn't be a lot of time for all this. Knights twirled Owle off his shoulders with a firm, "Don't move..." And walked to the actual ocean front, looking pissed off.

Jean explained.

"Things have taken a turn for the worst in Gaia, truthfully it was more hope on Henry's part then it was prediction for this outcome. We aren't really sure how it's supposed to work, but Deity is...well, there's just NOTHING there, magic is being dissolved from the north downwards. And someone has to stop it before it gets even more out of control."

"It's not GONE, Jean, tell her the truth." The girl looked uncomfortable.

"Okay, not...gone, in that sense. A lot of...vacum is created when a god's made mortal. Deity is just trying to be what he was, that takes a lot out of a world, y'know? Attracts all sorts of unwanted attention..." Now Jean looked really out of sorts, close to panic even. "Knights?! Are you ready yet?!"

A sword was driven into the ground. "Not yet, keep talking."

To tell the truth, Owle wasn't thinking she particularly needed Vahn's help right now. If she wanted to get away from these two, it'd be as simple as shifting into something small and fast, slipping out of Knights' grip and running the other way.

The trouble was, she wanted to know what was going on more than she wanted to get away.

"Didn't think what would happen? What are you..."

"Don't move..."

Owle made a face, and was about to open her mouth in a retort and to ask why she shouldn't when Jean started explaining. If you could call it that. Owle didn't understand a word.

"What?"

First instinct, then her mind started working on the more serious questions. "Who's Henry? Aren't sure how what's supposed to work? Deity is Sun, right? So something's...sucking up magic? And...what's happening? Just...what? What do you mean, unwanted attention? You mean gods and demons and s**t?

"...more than usual, anyway," she murmured the last bit to herself. She shook her head, raising her voice again. "What the hell is going on?"

"It's all kind of complicated to talk about..." Jean answered, not taking her eyes off Knights. "We're not...from here, or anywhere near here, really. Sunstrike is our god, he made us, Henry is the god that made Sunstrike. We're here because we're hiding out from things worse then gods and demons, there are some things that are REALLY hard to avoid if you've been as far down as our Deity has been."

Knights snorted, having heard the last statement. His jacket was lying on the ground, slung out of the way. He wasn't very similar to Sunstrike when spellcasting, while Sun went at it with tweaks and adjustments and a whole lot of flamboyaunce, Knights got seriously down to it, even biting his lip when he couldn't remember a whole sequence, pausing til he'd get it right, never making it up as he went along.

"So yes, it's actually him trying to eat magic, and something else forcing him not to? Is that right?"

"Not really." Knights was burying his sword in the middle of the runes.

"Like I said," Jean said with a worried look. "It gets kind of complicated."

Finally the very tall man stood up, took a few deep breaths, and gripped the sword blade with both hands.

"You might want to look away, this is kinda gross..." Jean herself looked a little pale as she watched him.

With a swift motion, Knights knealt and pulled himself fully into the sharp edge, piercing what should have been heart and lungs with a gasp. The blade shook as he completely embraced it.

"Gods I hate it when he does it like this..."
