X, if someone is stupid enough to be using a gun on full auto then its an easy thing to claim they miss because recoil kicks the gun up.

It's the smart ones that put off one shot and take their time in it that are the deadly ones.

Same thing with swords. If someone is just swinging the sword around they aren't doing much more then spraying and praying. But a smart sword user dodges insteads of parries and goes for the one strike.

Also, depending upon ammo used the bullets may not tumble a lot. There have been cases of individuals needing to be literally pumped full of lead before they stop.

As for automatic weapons, I agree with the inablity to dodge easily. That isn't fair. Though you would also have crappy aim due to the recoil being a b***h. And since this tourney is one dealing with style, forgetting something like recooil, would take away from that. With a gun, you are dodging their aim, not the bullet, when you do it properly. And I only pointed out Dante, because he's the one I have the most experience with, and he is entering HoH.

And while guns are used to kill quickly from a distance, that is not their only purpose, it's just the most obvious one. It's just another weapon. Just like a crossbow or an energy sword.

It doesn't matter what you use, it matters the skill(coherency) behind the character. And that's what RP is...at least in this medium. So if person A says "I shot you." Then yeah, that would be stupid to just let them have it.

However, if a person states "Placing the 1911 in their right hand, their left underneath to hold the firearm steady, they lined the sight up and fired, aiming for their opponents left arm." That gives you an idea of where they are firing, in addition to the fact that they are taking at least a second of their alloted post time (I'm assuming a post is the standard round of 6 seconds) before firing, so the opponent has that one second to then dodge, the gunner, not the bullet.

And we all know how much s**t can be done in a single round.

Yeah, the Hizoku are badass. They need to make Zero's striker (what was his name? Ron?) playable, too. His skeletal teleport thing was creppy as hell.

I always thought it was funny how the bad 2K-2K1 translations refered to them as "Air Pirates", though. When Lin says "It's an old air pirate trick." I was like What the?!

Have you heard the news about KOF XII? It's still early in development, but SNK has announced that they're finally redoing all the sprites.

Yeah, the only thing that's got me worried is that it's either going to take them a really long time to do, or that the roster wont be as extensive, at least for the next year or so.

Agreed. Almost no one respects guns, which is why you see so many bullets caught, blocked/deflected, or usually ignored. Maybe more misunderstood than disrespected, I suppose.

It takes no skill for an ounce of lead to kill someone. It takes a whole lot of skill delivering it to the right place.


It's not. Or, atleast, I think it's not. I was being an a** and posted the Rocket Propelled Chainsaw and asked if it was considered nonlethal. Jello said yes, but I doubt he was serious. Wasn't going to use it anyway.

I could try and say "Shoot them in a nonvital area" which I've done a lot, but I'd probably be talking out of my a** if I tried to bring that up here.


I blame that mentality for everything. Anime is ruining RP! Or something.

Driftwood can kill someone just as dead as a bullet can. May take longer, but dead is dead.

But on the subject of guns.

Raise your hand if you have seen the average Gaian be shot to death in an RP. I've seen a whole lot of shoulder wounds. I've seen a whole lot of thigh shots. Never, in playing a whole lot of gun toting characters, has any of them shot someone to death when there wasn't a huge debate of "sword blocking/bullet hearing/bullet immunity" s**t beforehand.
