ooh...Necromancer...Arista thought to herself, grinning some before shaking her head. My siblings are alright I suppose. Not exactly choice company, but then again we dont' spend much time together. She paused a moment, frowning slightly at the realization that she didn't really know her siblings well anymore. Her frown grew more so as she realized she didn't have anyone to her time with at all.

"I suppose we're kind of all in the same boat then." She had never minded being an only child, especially after meeting her friends. They became more of a family to her than anything else. "At least we have friends, right? Those are just as good." Drake didn't comment. Though he didn't mind being around others sometimes, he prefered being alone. With Ray around, that was hard to do.

Aura finished playing and sat the guitar aside, looking at the comfortable Jak she smile. "I need something to drink or I'll explode, need anything?"
Merryn finished dancing by herself before finding a couch to sit on. Asking politely for a book to appear she settled down with the one that appeared and started to read.

"Either a Manhatten or a Martini, Jak, whichever you want to make. Thank you, darling." Taking a seat at the table Aura put her feet up and made herself comfortable.

Jak moved over to the bar. Mixing two martinis, he returned to the table, placing one in front of her with a smile before sitting down.

Lifting her glass in salute Aura smiled and took a sip. "Heavenly," she murmered before taking another sip. "If you don't mind my asking, what's the story with the wings?" Thinking calmly Aura shook her dreads, "And then you can ask whatever question you want of me."

Jak lifted his glass in return, taking a long sip as he contemplated her question.
"Let's just say they are an inheritance from my fathers side of the family. A trait that goes back a few generations and is not very well received in family circles."

Aura chuckled softly, "Almost like a fallen angel?" Cocking an eyebrow she shook her head in Jordyn's direction. "I think I can appreciate that," she said taking another sip of her drink.

Jak grinned, his gaze following hers. "Not exactly. Most of what I know was in whispers or taunts to my mother....there was something about an ancestor who was a shapeshifter. My father's family is not exactly forthright on the details. My arrival into the family was not exactly welcome."

Aura nodded, and smiled. "I can't say I know what that's like, but I guess I understand shapeshifting. Your siblings seem to love you all the same, however."

Jak smiled back, his thoughts going to the twins for a moment.
"Akki and Po are my blessings. My father left right after I came along. When mother remarried and the twins came along....right from birth they loved and accepted me. They were, and are, my angels."
He leaned back, sipping his drink as he smiled at her.
"And what about your family? Merryn and you are close, what about Lawrence?"

Aura closed her eyes to think and take a final sip. "Well, Ryn and I being close is a stroke of luck I think... Lawrence though, he's our angel I guess you could say. He's just so special, we don't talk to him often but he's always there for us.
Like, when Ryn went nuts in London... He calmed her down, and potentially saved lives." Opening her eyes she had a glint of sadness. "We're all from other families originally and were just sort of tossed together, but that's only made us closer."

Jak nodded thoughtfully as he put his glass down.
"Sometimes family is can be one you make for yourselves. I was lucky Akki and Po came into my life. They never saw me as different, only as Jak.
Larry seems to be a decent young man, he'll be good for Akki."
