Xander was about ready to throttle Aden for his stupidity. But he let Kiba speak for himself.
Aden looked at Xander, "Wow, hey you're not smoking for a change. Your lips usually have a cigarette between them unless you're---" He has the grace to cough, "doing the horizontal tango."
Then he smiled as Xander glared at him.
Then he looked at Kiba, "Xander was nice to you?"
Aden was surprised, Xander was usually a big a*****e when he meets other slaves, he's usually just all around kind when he's around children.
"But you're not a child."
"Shut the ******** up Aden..." Xander said in a warning tone, licking his lips, whishing he had a cigarette.
But he couldn't, for Kiba's sake.

"Horizontal Tango?" Kiba tilting his head to one side puzzled.
Aden said alot of strange things.
He flinched back at the menstion of cigrettes though and wrapped his arms around his own slim frame unconsiously sheilding the tender soft flesh of his inner arms that where already dotted with cigrette burns, that and his chest which was coverd.
"Xander said I'm making him 'soft'" Kiba volounteered shly not quite sure if he was speaking out of turn. He glaced at Aden quickly but then averted his eyes again. "I think that means the same as Nice." He added bitting his bottom lip.

Aden pounded on Xander's back friendlike.
"Bwahahaha! You admitted that to him, Kit?" The red head half elf smirked at Xander's deepening scowl.
"Finally someone's getting through that hard a** exterior of yours!"
"I'm warning you Aden... I haven't had a cigarette, and I'm incredibly grumpy right now... So don't push your luck halfling.."
Xander only called Aden that when he's really agitated.
Aden knew that he didn't mean it though, so he never took it to heart.

Kiba acatully jumped and flinched back taken by surprise as Aden jumped on poor, by now grumpy Xander.
He moved back from the pair alittle alarmed and sat down lower pulling his legs against his chest and burrowing hisself into the longer grass where he was at least partically concealed.

Xander saw what Kiba was doing and shot a 'death glare' at Aden, "Man, you're scaring him... Would you quit it, you ******** style="color: green">Aden looked sypathetic to the other.
"Kiba? We're sorry we didn't mean to---"
"Shut up Aden,"Xander interrupted, "Kiba, get your damn a** over here. No hiding. You need to ******** stop hiding."
The older panther turned his head away in disgust, "You're a disgrace to the proud shapeshifter... We never hide, we never cower..."
"Xander don't you think you're being a little harsh on him?" Aden asked, all trace of his jester-like tendencies were gone.
"I mean... He looks so young."
"I know he's young, I could smell it. But he's a coward, I don't tolerate cowards..."

Kiba's pink eyes went wide in alarm, no, he didn't want Xander to be ashamed of him.
Anger he could understand and he would have been able to take a beating but having someone he had actaully grown to respect and even like was devestating to the cub. He crept foward out of the long grass towards Xander, his hands lightly bushing his arm. "I...I'm sorry Xander." His eyes were liquid now and his voice quiverd. "p..p..please don't be mad. I don't know how to be a shapshifter, I wasn't born one.Please...please don't turn away from me."

"Born a shapeshifter or not... You lack the respect, the honor." Xander was very proud of what he is, even though he was abused because of it.
"You can't exactly ACT like a shapeshifter, you have to embrace it." Xander ground out angrily, "You have't embraced it."
The older turned his head, his now golden orbs stabbing into the other's pink ones, "When you cower and when you grovel at my feet, you show high disprespect to be, cub."
He turned away again, "And that is the worst insult."
Aden's amethyst eyes watched the scene before him.
He knew what Xander was doing.
He was toughening him up.
Aden shook his head, his firey red hair moving gracefully, "He's changed a little." he said mostly to himself.

Kiba looked mortified, he was held in place by the golden ones. He couldn't move his whole body had gone ridgid with the torest of emotions that Xanders strong words stirred inside of him.
"No,no. I didn't mean it. I didn't want to insult you Xander." He yugged at the older male's sleeve desperatly as he turned away.
He stopped seeing that obviously wasn't working and sat back on his heels trying deperatly to think of a way to get Xander to look back at him.
In a minute he had tansformed and the large panter sat beside Xander ears back and tail lashing out in adigitation. Normaly he felt a slittle more secure in this fourm but he found that against words it really didn't help. He lowerd his head and butted Xanders shoulder with a soft growl another appolgy but in a diffrent fourm.

Xander had predicted that Kiba would do that.
He looked over that the oversized cat and grinned, "Won't use your voice hm?"
Aden was awestruck at Kiba, "He's so... BIG."
Hell Aden hadn't even seen Xander in that form, he was just so mesmerized.

Kiba perked up at the grin, his gold eyes closed brifely in a cat like smile.
He rubbed his large black head against Xander's shoulder with a rumbled purr.
He didn't quite know his own strength in this fourm either since he was too afarid to use it for more than taking down the occasional lamb and so he had enough fource behind the gesture to bowl someone over.

Xander fell over, and shook his head at Kiba, "All right, all right, you're forgiven."
The cub obviously didn't know how to control his own strength really.
Besides, the kid needed to gain some backbone.
And it looked like Xander just had the balls to do it.

Kibas rounded furry ears flickerd happily as he lay down beside Xander, large head resting on crossed front paws.
His golden eyes flickerd over towards Aden and he lifted his heda again to look at the half elf puzzled, he had gone very quite all of a sudden. He tilted his head in question. Looking back at Xander. Since he wasn't sure if Aden could understand him. "Did I do somthing wrong to upset mister Aden?" he rumbled. He didn't know why everyone reacted so oddly whe he changed fourms. Mutt had done somthing similar as well.

Xander smiled and petted Kiba, looking at Aden.
"Oh nothing, you just surprised him is all. He'll be like that for a while."
Xander's gentle hand caressed the side of Kiba's head, along his neck and over his spine.
"You're just bigger than they expected you to be..."

Kiba leaned in against the soft hands like a attention starved domestic kitten.
He liked the feeling of Xander's hands running through his velvety soft fur immensely.
“I didn’t mean to surprise him. He must be really surprised as well because he stopped talking and he was very loud before.” Kiba observed not meaning it as any sort of insult it was just a simple statement of what Kiba considered fact. He stretched out his front paws, claws extending and digging into the earth, his back arching slightly against Xanders hand.

Xander threw his head back and just laughed at how Kiba was reacting to his touch.
He looked toward Aden who seemed to be recovering from initial shock.
"You should call him "kit" he deserves it better than I."
Aden shook his head, smiling at the fact that Xander was laughing.
"You'll always be Kit to me."
