Normally he would've volunteered, but he wisely kept his trap shut knowing all the issues that would come up in debate. Like Van, happily together with Mala, carrying another girl/woman, and him straining himself and blah blah blah.

Van sighed in relaxation as he stretched when they arrived in the next town. "After all the crap that's happened these past few days, it's nice to see a nice and regular town for a change. I can use a break from wondering what disaster we're going to find ourselves in next." he said, unaware as to just how much he was tempting fate.
((I'm just moving things along, so there shouldn't be any harm in a little timeskip, right? I mean, no one really wants to go through the monotony of travel, right? sweatdrop ))

Angel woke up rather abruptly and took her daughter from Riley, and began feeding her, then looked at Van. "Nice, normal towns are, as a rule, filled with murderers and rapists. I read that in a book." Of course, it was the same book that told her purple was the same as green and vodka didn't exist, which it totally did because she'd made and bottled thirty-three liters of it, the entirety of which was in her bag.

After hearing Angel's comment she then said, "If there are plenty of murderers and rapists, that means it isn't a very good town after all now is it?"
