"Now now, Sonya dear, I really do think you're overreacting. If there was something going on in my Institute, I would be aware of it. I... well I am psychic, after all," explained Xavier, mildly frustrated at the naive girl's insistence that he come with her. Still, he managed to remain warm, for the most part.
"I know I know, I just can't get this out of my mind. But like... when I come to this part of the school... it gets a little louder, are you sure you can't hear anything?" asked the new girl.
Xavier heard nothing by ear, and in his mind, all he could hear was Sonya already kicking herself for making such a fuss, and the vague sounds of music, obviously a nearby student thinking about one of his favorite songs. He smiled at Sonya.
"Young lady, your powers will no doubt lead you to new levels of awareness, and indeed you may be seeing the early stages of that even now. But from what I can see, hear, and think, you have nothing to be concerned with, at least not now," he said, speaking as if he'd just taught Sonya a small but important lesson.
"Yeah," Sonya said with a nervous giggle. "You're right, I dont know what I--"
Those were the last words out of the young girl's mouth before a bright blue blast of energy seemed to fire from out of nowhere, striking the side of her head. Her eyes went wide for a moment, before they glassed over, and she passed out in front of her teacher's wheelchair.
Xavier was speechless for a moment, horrified, and unable to determine whether or not the girl's attack was fatal. He looked up, his mind on fire, ready to put down whoever had just dared... but once he saw who it was, he couldn't help but to feel his heart sink. It sunk even more when he looked into his mind, and saw only music... his thoughts obviously masked just like Magneto's.
"How... how could you do this...?" he asked, realizing all too quickly what was about to happen.

Markus quietly prepped for the upcoming mission...and the longer he stayed here the worse the feeling of unease became. He was certain that this was wrong, this was not only wrong but dangerous...and he wanted little to do with it. He kept that part of his mind to himself and kept a look of anticipation on him as he went about his business.

From behind the doorway to the Xavier Institute's war room, Forge slowly walked from the darkness, his cybornetic arm smoking from the blast he'd just fired upon Sonya.
"Don't worry old man," he said almost flippantly. "She's not dead, she just won't be able to fight back when the big guns get here. None of you will, incidentally, I've planned for that."
"Don't do this!" shouted Xavier. "I dont know what Magneto has promised you, but--"
Xavier's words were cut off as the same blast hit him in his unguarded chest. He growled... Sonya had most likely been knocked out from the shock, the blasts weren't enough to do much physical damage. Unfortunately for him, Forge walked up, point blank, and fired the blast into his "Professor's" gut nearly ten more times.
"This little invention of mine will turn off your little gifts, dear Professor," said Forge with a grin, "But for you I just want to make sure. Sorry if it's a little disorienting, but that's just the feeling of your mind decompressing by a factor of roughly 100 times. I'd imagine it's--"
Xavier slumped over in his chair.
"Yes... quite disorienting."
With that, Forge's cybornetic arm began to grow. Soon, his other arm, and both legs were covered, along with the upper half of his face. He was becoming in sync with the Xavier Mansion's security. The security he had designed from the bottom up.
"X Security, online," he said rigidly.
"Welcome, administrator," stated the warm, feminine voice of the computer.
"X Security, target every mutant on the property. Weapon selection: nullifier ray."
"Warning, such a command targets friendly parties, and will remove their ability to use their powers. Proceed?"
"Affirmative... fire," he stated, without the slightest hesitation.
Throughout the mansion, the security came online, and out of even the most seemingly ordinary of spaces, robotic arms with guns emerged, pointing directly toward whichever student or teacher was nearest. Giving them no time to react, each gun fired simultaneously.
OOC: At this point, my dear X-Men... unless I've PMed you and told you explicitly otherwise, you have just become powerless, and hit with a blast that will at the very LEAST wind you. For the purposes of the story... you're about to get rather forcibly evicted from your residence. Have fun twisted
And yeah... family is pulling me away. Wont be back for a few hours... but at that point I'll be on all night smile

She had finished her training ruitien and was standing outside for some fresh air when all heck broke loose. She barely avoided getting shot as multiple guns seemed to spout from the ground. "What the?!" She avoided another shot and managed to duck behind a tree and dig herself a small hole to hide out in untill the shooting stopped.

From out of nowhere, a gun popped out of the wall. "Ah hope this is just extra practice." Rogue ran, the gun already shooting. It hit her in the side, and she could feel her powers draining. "Wha?" She fell over, falling face first onto the floor with a thud.

OOC: I'm writing that the students were out of the Danger Room and it is after practice (Rachael and Taiya's posts go along with this)... I believe the Danger Room is seperate from all Institute functions which is why its used to hide the students in sometimes.
She was worn out after the Danger Room and her simulation with Jacen earlier. Once she and Sonya broke, most of the teams dissipated for the night. With a well earned yawn she wrapped her arms around Jacen somewhere near the top of the stairwell and wished him a good night. Giving him an obvious look up and down, "You really do look good in that."
He swatted her in the backside, "Stop checking me out."
"You like it," She teased and went back to her room to grab a towel and robe. A shower was definatlely in order. The hallway was silent. Most of the students were still out or getting well earned rest.
Then her senses were caught by a sound she never wanted to hear in the Institude. The security system was on... and it was ready for a fight.
What the ********?" Penance said hearing the guns charge up before they could take their shot. She knew the layout of the Institute enough that she took immediate cover under a seating bench. Behind it was a hidden panel that she kicked out with one foot and snuck into while the barrage was going on. Not good... that is not good...
Her first instict was to take the secret access ways down to the War Room. The sublevels of the Institute were seperated off from everything else... if anything, the security system wouldn't be going crazy down there. Too bad, those floors were just about abandonded at this time of night... She moved through the walls hearing thud after thud from people either collapsing or fire hitting the walls.
Destination number one was the arsenaul. She knew an attack was imminant on the Institute at this point... this was no drill.

Theresa now under the alias of Siryn was in her green and blue "costume" as the humans would say. She was floating out side the Seminary and near the insitiute they were to attack. THe signal had not been gives to attack yet. SO in the air the wind bellows at her yellow and black drappery modeled after that of storm and her father.
SHe still isnt sure why they are doing this. ANd she has exreme dobts. SHe can tell some of the other mutants are begining to feel the anxiety of the mission that lays ahead. Using her mutant ability, that has grown in the past weeks, she can hear the conversation some the verbal conversations going on in the Institute. SOme of the things she hear shock her, but most of all the screaming, the terror in the mutants voice, they proove to be to much so she "turns of this ability".
How could shooting people be the way to do anything. Even if it is to nullify the powers, when ten consecutive shots, there wasnt even time for the shooter to change targets. It was a power move. Someone wanted to feel the power of being over someone else.

Markus didn't like this....not at all.... It didn't take a telepath to know what was happening in that building. He could see flashes of light as the internal defences turned on the students and nullified their powers. This wasn't a fight... "Like shooting fish in a barrel...." He said in a deadpan tone.

Siryn comes to the ground and stands now, instead of flying. This was not a fair mission. Hears teh words of one of her commrades and turns to face him. SHe doesnt say anything, instead faced the carnage of the institute instead. SHe was begining to have even greater doubts about this. THe words of her mentor Adler suddenly came to her head. "IF you feel somthing is wrong, not doing somthing about it, makes you guilty of doing it also." THese words played over and over in her head. She was confused and didnt know what to do anymore.

[ooc: Gah, long-ish post because I had written more of the training and then noticed the rest of the stuff and was like, aw crap. So yeah.]
Concentration and saturation. Concentrate on the thickness. Concentrate on the strength. Concentrate.Teagan told herself over and over, trying to calm herself down. She knew she could control the strength of her powers, and it's affect on others. She had been trying things with her powers, especially in their last mission, that seemed to be working.
"You mean, like this?" She asked, extracting a small puff of green smoke, watching it spread through the room before turning into a dark green mist. She concentrated on the fumes it put off, watching for a dire change of expression on Jacen's face out of the corner of her eye, hoping that she would once again be able to block those around her from it's power.
I can do this. I've done it once under an amp of power and once without. I can do it again. The more I try, the better it'll get. She thought, watching as the fumes seemed to keep away from Jacen. She smiled slightly, watching as the mist became lighter.
"Like that, right?" She asked, looking over at him with a confident smile.
After having finished up with Jacen, and having felt rather content with herself and her powers, Teagan decided to take a walk down to the kitchen in hopes of grabbing something to eat. She yawned as she grabbed a peice of fruit off the counter.
Atleast it hasn't been too long of a day. I think I'll head up to bed though. See what Gen's up to. She thought, taking a bite of her apple as she walked out of the kitchen. She had started walking towards the stairs, stopping for she heard loud thumps coming from upstairs.
"What th-" She gasped, before collapsing to the ground, feeling her powers drain and her body weaken, her apple rolling away from her hand. She knew something had hit her. She knew something was wrong.

He looked as one of his team mates turned to look at him. He could tell be her expression that she didn't like what was happening either. He wanted to ask her to join him in defecting but wasn't sure of her true aligences. He walked up next to her still watching the chaos at the institute. His mind screamed that this wasn't right...and he knew that it wasn't.

She decided to speak, through the great nervousness, and uneasiness of what lays ahead of them. SHe ponders on what to say and she finally finds a few words to use that would break the mood, nor would it hide her feelings. "This isnt right" she whispered to the mutant. A tear begins to form at her eye but she sneakingly dries it with her thumb as she pretends to come hair out of her face.

Magneto floated a few inches off the ground, emerging behind Markus and Theresa. He actually sounded genuine in his words. "If you have reservations about your true place," he said, "Then there is a time and place to discuss that. As it stands, if you hesitate here, you risk injury to yourself and your brothers... I should hope neither of you are quite so selfish."
"And on that note, my Brotherhood... you know your roles... attack!"
He rose into the air... his arm extended, pointing at the mansion. The Brotherhood was told in advance who to target... and of course, he knew his targets as well.
The elder students?
Isolated in the west wing of the Mansion, thought Forge as he dropped two spherical balls onto the floor in front of Sonya and the Professor. Each of them expanded into the familiar floating spheres Magneto usually used to transport his men, though Forge had made the obvious improvement on portability.
However... I can already tell, there is at least one of them who has gone off on her own... but don't worry, I already factored her into our plan, I know exactly where to find her.
And with that, Forge made his way to the Danger Room, his skin clad in armour, his lips turned into a dark grin.

During the training session, an odd thing happened to Blair.
"My powers..? Well....I think they could be honed and prove useful. But as it is now, they're just a bother to me and not really much help in any aspect.."
Blair's eyes wandered around the room that he and his counselor, Porter stood in. He tried to think about the last time he used his powers to a full extent, which had only been once or twice. One being when Ahab had amped him up and turned him into a Hound. The vision of him, not really him, but his body attacked the people he thought to his friend flashed through his mind. Using telekinesis to hurt them with flying objects and debris. The young man clenched his eyes trying to forget the awful memory.
The event and memory hadn't been far from his mind since it happened but it usually faded away after a minute or two. Usually he caught glimpses and flashes of what had happened. A kick and a punch here. A flash of him lifting up off the ground with levitation. Nothing to make a story of what happened in his mind complete. Not sure if today was different because of Porter being in the room or his powers developing or it finally just sinking in....but today he saw more.
A flash of light in his mind's eye and Blair watched himself, technically Pharoah at the time, in an alleyway. He watched the past event unfold as the amped up mutant, his former self, killed three mutants in cold blood without flinching, to his horror.
"Are you okay..?" Porter's voice bringing him back to reality, his voice full of concern for Blair's well being.
He awoke on the floor, having apparently passed out while recieving his pent up memories.
"I'll....I'll be fine. I'm sorry...Please don't think that I don't want your help. I am sorry for wasting your time...one moment I was ready for you to help me achieve great things with my powers..and the next..." his rambling voice trailed off as he bit his lip.
The simulation ended, the thirty-minute session obviously up. Blair put his hands in his pockets so he didn't bite his fingernails in a nervous habit as he walked out of the Danger Room.
"I'm sorry again. Please...let us try again sometime. I just don't feel very well. I'm going to go lie down. Goodnight..."
Waving to Porter he rushed up to his room, his mind racing about him being a killer...amongst other things.
Sitting in his room, looking out of his bay window, Blair thought of many things and even questioned his stay at this Institute; questioning if these people really accepted him at all, as well.
He didn't notice the metallic weapon open from the ceiling of his room and point at him, releasing a burst of energy that had such a force that resulted in Blair being pushed out of the window, shattering the glass, and landing on the grass unconscious.
