I could break this down into little pieces as to why exactly I think it will fail, but that would take to long.

Okey Pad. Just because you're my favorite Britt-tastic Gaian. ^_^
Basically, when you create a bad-guy race, even if it is temporary, you need a buncha people that can take the part of those bad guys, and role-play them to the death.
The odds of us finding that many active role-players, and keeping them interested long enough to finish the plot.. are slim.
All the same, if you're gung-ho about this, you can run it by the crew. It would be fun to say the least. ^_^

Believe me. If nobody wanted to play the temporary badguys I would play all of them myself. It would be hard work, near enough impossible but I'd see it through.
Well really. I'm waiting to see what Jes has to say. I mean. She's the one looking for plots. I'm just offering ideas and seeing which she'd like to do best.

I'm going to give it one last go. I've always wanted to do a plot involving this subject. Simply because of how very entertaining it could be. Note the word COULD. Don't hate me for this.
A certain Arrancar has come into the attention of the leaders of Hueco Mundo. Not for his power, his looks or his attitude but for his powers. He has the power to travel in time, backwards and forwards and probably even more.
Realising what an amazing chance they've come across the two leaders send him back in time to enslave the Shinigami. As obviously, the first Shinigami didn't have Shikai and Bankai. They were essentially powerless and swiftly defeated by this Arrancar.
Of course he does his job well and reality begins to change around them. The Arrancar have become the new rulers and all Shinigami work under them. These days they are sent to collect souls for the fattening and lazy Hollows who quite often now just sit around waiting to be fed.
Of course. This doesn't affect every single character who is played by an actual person. So a very small number of people and they retain their memories as though this never happened and are so very weirded out when they find what has happened.
The Arrancar that retain feel that the Hollows are now a mockery and so they wish to get this Arrancar and have him change things back to how they used to be. He of course refuses, saying that this was all part of the 'master's' plan.
Angered, one of the remaining powerful Hollows attacks him but he knocks them away with relative ease. Then he taunts the Arrancar. Telling them that if they truly wish to change things back then they must come to him and destroy him.
Of course the Arrancar are all too happy to oblige until they find the Shinigami who still remember everything knocking at their doors. With a siege engine. Worried the Arrancar all run into the magic portal Mr Nameless has left behind and end up scattered all across time and space. The Shinigami are mystified when they find that Las Noches is deserted.
It takes a small amount of searching for them to find the portal that scattered the Arrancar all across different time periods. They send one Shinigami in on a rope and when they find the rope has been cut a full out rescue mission begins.
Of course all the Shinigami end up in different time periods too although a few of them end up in the same places as Arrancar. From here on the Arrancar explain what's happened and they all decide to grudgingly team up.
They find the Time Traveller but they cannot beat him. He laughs and tells them that they will never beat him because they cannot find his route.
Becoming aware of this fact the Shinigami and Arrancar realise that they must create a form of time travel also if they ever want to find the route of the problem.
They ask a younger version of Idon'tknowwho to help them make a device which would allow them to travel through time and so he helps them.
They travel back in time and pick up all of the other Arrancar and Shinigami involved until finally they end up at the beginning of time. Outside of space.
Commence Final Boss Battle. We, only just, win. We then hear his last words which allude to another Arc coming soon. That there are more than just him working for The Master.
If you couldn't tell what the master's plan was. It was to make all the Hollows fat and useless. It eliminates one huge enemy and because the Shinigami serve the Hollows it eliminates a second military force.
I just like. This subject. Opinions my brethren?
