Ruuvan

PostPosted: Thu Apr 10, 2008 1:05 pm

What was there left to do? Ruuvan wasn't getting any younger, not to mention he was out of practice, but that was no excuse to fail. Fatigue had been getting to him; a tackle being his reserve attacks for desperate times. Archery foremost, swords second, unarmed last. A good way to live in times of warfare, but not suited to spars and the like. He had learned, he had tried to anyway, but he was never going to best Maximos in that area. The ever-adapting shadow.

His grip fell, his head hung and took the blows loosely until he was left staring up at the sky with stars dancing around his vision. A moment of peace and tranquility, all calm until his world was split apart. A gargled scream of rage and agony erupted as the elf lurched forward, eyes squeezed shut and sense opening up to something. He had to seek something in there, something in the void in his mind. Focus on the void. Everything piled into it, leaving nothing but emptiness in his mind. Pain evaporated briefly and a light glimmered on the brink of this emptiness. Ruuvan grabbed at it, taking as much as he could. A moment passed, though it seemed longer for the elf, and soon his entire body was pulsing with that energy. Weak to some people, maybe; grabbing out at the last minute for help, but it some something in himself he was going for. Whatever the reason, it didn't matter to him at that moment.

The large gashes on his back sealed up in an instant, the crackling black fluid on his face seeped off into the ground to be absorbed into the earth quickly. He stood, shakily for a second, before whipping round to face Maximos. His two swords, the ones that had been bonded to him all those years ago, quivered and shone faintly. A moment later and they would force themselves free of Maximos' grip, flying gracefully through the air into Ruuvan's hands.

The glow faded as quickly as it had come, leaving Ruuvan better off and ready for another round with his never tiring opponent. He would let him gather his sword first, a gentleman declaring the end of a round and waiting for both parties to be ready again. 1-0 to Maximos.
PostPosted: Thu Apr 10, 2008 2:08 pm

Ruuvan would find the swords surrendered with no resistance, the shadow liquid seemed to almost slither loose as if it had decided its time was at an end.

And as he recovered himself from the brink, and stood, Maximos would be behind him with nothing a grin from ear to ear. No he was not upset at the reset of there match, he was instead glad at the opportunity for a second round, and that Ruuvan knew how to accept defeat.

Maximos took a step back, suddenly without warning a purple-black glow overtook the shadow, it ignited runes across his form from head to toe, burning them bright and clearly visible even despite his clothes. The glow was present for an instant, and then in an instant it vanished.

The ground protested as new weight sunk into it. His hands reached reached up to his cracked faces, his fingers into the cracks setting free drops of black before he violet tugged, and ripped pulling chunks of the pale shadow shell off and sending them to the floor. Beneath the shadow lied something new and clean, flesh that was pale and yet carried a pinkish hue of health. Two mismatched eyes met Ruuvan, the left black, the white right with a odd faint glow slipping from it.

His hands quickened there work, snapping and breaking off chunks of the hollow form that coverd his face. He stomped on the ground, the sound echoing across the arena, shattering the loose pieces over his body off and dropping them to the ground where they instantly dissolved into a black mist. Which skittered at the suns touch.

This left Maximos standing before Ruuvan, with no hat, and no jacket. He wore a grey pinstripe vest with a black dress shirt beneath it. Its sleeves rolled up to about his elbows. His right arm was covered in white bandages that exited the sleeve and vanished under a full black leather glove. His left was exposed, making the black tribal runic tattoo that spiraled down it clearly visible tracing up into the fingerless black leather glove on his left hand. Matching his shirt, he wore black pants, and odd black boots with a runic design sewn into the leather. He was patting what seemed to be black powder or soot from his arms.

There were no words said, as none were needed. Maximos reached his right arm upwards, his fingers pinched around an imaginary thread and he pulled it, and there was an audlble "ding". The sun flew from the sky, darkness rush into swallow light, and the arena was now filled with the purplish-orange hue of Twilight.

Round 2 had begun.

And as day became night, their surroundings blurred for a moment before coming back into focus completely different. They were now standing in a forest; a familiar place to the two of them, the place where they first met again in Gaia and had a good old fashioned Light and Dark fight. Moonlight came through the canopy in beams. Ruuvan's eyes took on a slight green glow as they adjusting to the twilight, showing a clean image as if it were day.

The elf was tired, visibly so. Light had indeed healed his wounds and got him back to his feet, but he was still regaining some stamina. Maximos would give no quarter, as always, but he prepared a defensive stance with one blade in front and one in reserve, waiting for the onslaught.

An elderly looking man shifted about. His body shook with each step. His neck was bent back and veins could be seen pressing against the skin of his neck and fore arms. His mouth made gasping noises as he moaned in horrible agony.

And old shadow in a new place, and now a new shadow in an old. It took him a moment to understand, to recognize, it had been so very long you see. But when he did, his grin stretched from ear to ear.

There was no fance or flair.

Non-necessary.

Maximos spoke, his voice devoid of that hollow echo it carried, replaced with the strength of a good set of vocal chords.

Dont just sit there like a lump.

He said, patting a few bits of black off his shirt sleeve. Ruuvan and Maximos had traveled across all of Aria. They walked for days sometimes even weeks. At times food was scarce, at other times battle seemed endless. There was simply no way Maximos was letting the elf be "tired" so soon.

Or do I have to wake you up manually?!

Were his last words before dashing forward across the distance. Within striking ranging his right arm shot forward, fingers splayed out across his leather gloved hand, aiming to grab smack, or generally aiming for Ruuvan's face with an open palm.

An odd move, likely one with hidden intent.

"What does he mean, wake up?" Rae glance at Hono with another frown.

Hono just shrugged at her double. She didn't really understand the void.. normally when she was here it was in a nice relaxing mood.

"I can't really believe that this is just a dream, I may not wake up full of stab wounds but I still remember the last fight I had here.. and it felt like I had been run over by a buss when I woke up!" xp

"Have you ever noticed how you can not heal the mind... I mean you can slowly work your way around a mental or emotional injury, if the person lets you, but it is not like you can just stick you hands in someones brain and make them forget the pain of loosing someone they love or make them suddenly forgive someone who has hurt them in the past." Hono looked at Rae and there was a shadow deep in here eyes that Rae realised she didn't really have. "I think that is why you hurt only in your mind when you come out of the void... because I think that it is only your mind that comes here!"

Rae was tempted to ask who had wounded Hono's heart so much that it stuck with her all the time. "So you think that we are really back in the hotel right now?"

"That is my guess, but I don't think this is really a dream either... When Ruu and Maxi leave here they will remember what they have learned in this battle...but what Ruu forgets is that in this place Maxi is truly in his element, with the darkness of the void all around him..." Hono turned her attention back to the fight and wondered what an old man was doing all alone in the void.

"But Maxi doesn't really use it like he knows that the void is the perfect place for him..."

"No, he doesn't, that is what makes him a good guy!" xd

Elite Ferrex
Prepare the Phalanx for analysis of the blade's incoming trajectory to maximize ESMD efficiency.
Hmm. I have less reason to worry now than ever before in this battle.
The enemy pilot would soon regret saying those words to himself as he'd see something terrifying and highly unorthodox speed through a gap in the buildings and shoot directly towards his position...

It was the Marauder Positron Mortar Cannon, and it impacted the two missiles head-on once they fired from the big machine. What followed would be a mighty explosion right near the shield area of the moving fortress, the force from the detonation punctuating the strange calm by blasting a massive crater into the ground, and leveling buildings all around as the full force of the weapon's power core overloading tore into the shield and heavy armor of the enemy target. There'd be nothing the massive machine could do to avoid the incoming carnage, as the detonation would be too close to the body of the mech, and no amount of boost the big hunk of metal could muster would be enough to stop the damage at that range. Its massive size and armor would be its downfall...

User Image

The force from the detonation would not be unlike the explosion of a fully charged blast, however, the cost of that kind of instantaneous power was the destruction of the weapon itself. But what about the White Comet?

Zero-One... The time...is now!

The titanic explosion would rip through the air between both mechs, but not before another burst of energy shot across the expanse just after the weapon would detonate, this time, it was the full power of Unit 01's FPM Energy Shields shot into the thunderous roar of the blast, bending the ballooning energy dome in towards the center where the big enemy mech would be attempting to deal with the massive wave of energy already...

Quote:
*FPM Energy Shields:
A shield generator within the body of the mech powers the energy shields, and is purposely positioned near the core for better protection. The generator works to generate a field of protection against attacks from hostile targets. The shield extends out equally in all directions to take the shape of a sphere around the unit, protecting it from any damage that does not collapse the shield. The shield is designed to be an all purpose protection against almost everything that can be seen or experienced on the battlefield. While it does better against solid projectiles, the shield also does quite well against energy weapons. Close range weapons do far more damage to the shield than any other type due to their overwhelming power, however the shield can still take quite a beating before depleting. The generator recovers at a rate of 5% every few seconds ((Per turn)) out of a maximum of 100%. If the shield takes too much damage it breaks down, and cannot be activated again until the charge on it reaches 100% once more. As a secondary function, a portion of the shield’s energy can be used to form a powerful blade-like attack capable of doing massive, close-range, cleaving damage to a target. The energy used for this attack varies depending on the specific use.

The full power of the White Comet's Energy Shields being directed into a massive cutting beam would carve through the titanic explosion tearing into the armor of the VOX Juggernaut, and shred its way through its protective energy shields like they were tissue paper, before slamming with terrifying power into the main body of the mech itself, no doubt fragging thousands of dollars of armored plating and delicate machinery in the process, if not bisection the "Juggernaut" into two pieces all together. But the true defensive capabilities of the metallic monster were unknown...

Could it survive the powerful onslaught of the White Comet and its exploding weapon? Time would tell... And the White Comet was still charging forward, energy blade glowing a bright, radiant, blue as the machine sped towards its target.

Damrius hit the ground running... and then stumbling... and then rolling.

The last thing he expected was to be going for a daily run and then being teleported... to this place. The Void. And on top of that, while running and not paying much attention, he was unable to stop from falling on his face.

As he pushed himself up, he examined his surroundings. Long... flat ground, and what seemed to be dark, black, black edges. The ground stopped abruptly about a hundred yards away, swallowed up by the blackness.

Damrius looked around, his hand instictively dropping onto his sword hilt. He looked around, wishing he had his full suit instead of jeans and a black tanktop on.

[ "Dark Sutiiven" Test Fight - VS Damrius - Start ]

"Took you long enough... I've been waiting here for nearly thirty six seconds for you to show up... I'm a very busy man, even in this... inadequate abomination of a place."

About twenty five feet from where Dame had landed, a man dressed in dark black regalia and wearing a black and grey mask leaned up against a twisted lamp post in the middle of what appeared to be the predetermined sector of the Void that they appeared in. He had long hair similar to a person that Dame would recognize, but his voice was darker and seemed to have a hit of madness behind it - not to mention an obvious dark passion that flowed within its words.

He stood up, the lamp post shifting oddly, its light now hanging upwards as if it were spitting in the face of gravity.

"So... you must be the Thunderc-"

A flash of lightning and a loud boom overlapped the expletive uncannily.

"Oh COME ON. Is that the best you can do? Seriously, you're such a friggin' wuss..."

Sorry, but there are ladies present in this guild, and I'm sure they wouldnt appreciate the use of that particular word. Now stop breaking the fourth wall and get going with the introduction and fighting already.

"...Whatever boss..."

The man in black shifted his head back to the opponent across from him. "Anyway, you seem like a... delectable specimen. Perhaps my damned host had good reason to ally himself with you," he said eerily. "I am sure your essence will be a worthy addition to my collection... and your form will be equally tasty as well... ehehehehehe... I've always wanted to try electric death. I hear the flavor rivals that of ecstasy on toast... mmmm... toast... "

He stood their, looking over his opponent, his eyes hidden behind the blackness of the mask's eye holes. Clearly insane, he appeared to be itching to dig the weapon he was holding in his hand into his opponent - it appeared as a simple katana, but looks could be deceiving... especially from one such as this.

Always with the hurling of good motivation, that man. Ruuvan didn't move though; like a statue, not blinking or his gaze wavering from his opponent, ready in some way.

Then the shadow rushed him, right arm out and palm open, all going straight for his head. Ruuvan stepped lightly, his left foot swinging out and back, his body shifting with it to bring him a pace back from the shadow's arm and facing side on. He shifted the blades, switching one into reserve and the other out front. One simple uppercut from its position at the Elfs side would be enough to severe the arm. Maximos could deal with such things, if he remembered correctly. So could Ruuvan when the Undead taint remained. Good times.

Damrius shifted and looked over at.... "Stephen?"

Damrius's head was spinning. That wasn't stephen, and the smell of the area had grown... evil. Had stephen been messing with dark magics? Or was this another moonblade incident? No way to tell... Only one way out of here - kill or be killed. His sword slipped from it's sheath smoothly, the blade glinting in the faint light that was just there, only to be found in dreams and in the void...

"Well... you're... new. How 'bout leaving, and doing so quickly? I'd prefer to fight something that's a challenge, instead of something weak," Dame said, his lips pulling back in a snarl. He had vampire style fangs, or what people said was vampire style, including the gleaming whiteness of them.
PostPosted: Thu Apr 17, 2008 3:22 pm

"EYAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

The man laughed maniacally for a second, and seemed to be trying his best not to fall over. Once he had regained his posture and his breath, he spoke through the mask.

"If you could see through this mask, you could tell that I find all of this extremely pathetic!" He shouted across the arena with a sick glee. "I've crushed the minds and bodies of countless warriors... indeed, it's pity your friend couldn't be here to see you die, only the brat is currently not in control of his body... The look on his anguished face would be..." He paused for a moment and took a deep, disturbing breath inwards.

"Delicious..."

He started to laugh again, this time quietly, but it slowly grew until he was laughing out loud with insane drive. He clutched his weapon in one hand tightly as the other gestured out in a flourish as he reared back his head and continued to laugh like the madman he was.

Damrius's eyebrow raised, and he scoffed at the fool. Just as the creature lifted his head to laugh, Damrius struck. His sword tip scraped on the ground, and coming upwards, less than five feet from Dark Stephen a bolt of lightning would flash, and several bolts would cause guysers of earth, and would start going after Stephen like spears from the heavens.

"Die... you sick b*****d."
PostPosted: Thu Apr 17, 2008 3:58 pm

Clouds of dust and flashes of light blocked the arena from view as the man was presumably bombarded with electricity and utterly obliterated. Rock shards flew everywhere like privative proxy mines all going off at once. No normal human being would have been able to survive such an attack...

As the dust cleared, the charred and burning remains of the lamp post lay before Dames feet. Their was some blood on the ground, but otherwise no sign of the previous man standing there.

"Hmmm... it seems I underestimated exactly how pathetic you really are..."

The man was standing about 30 feet away this time. He had used the commotion as cover, though from the look of his right shoulder he took a nasty hit - blood was seeping from a gash that he had received, but instead of it being normal, it appeared to be a darker shade of red than usual.

His stance shifted slightly as he brought the blade in hand up as if intending to finally start fighting back. Before doing anything else, he muttered a few words - they were slow, deliberate, and touched on the epitome of the level of crazy this man resided in -

"...Death to all who oppose me..."

He wiped some of the blood onto his left hand, then proceeded to slide it across the blade of his weapon. He then brought it up in a block like stance close to his masked face and in a vile tone he said three words:

"Dies ist Mitternacht..."

The blade shone (for lack of a better word) with darkness for a moment before flashing with the same color as the blade extended out and changed from the normal color of steel to a black color, the hilt shifting as well as if to mimic a deamon's claw grasping up at the bottom of the blade. The bottom grew as well, creating what on a normal weapon would be a pommel, but instead of a round or square thing, it also became a demonic looking claw clutching a dark blood red stone.

He swirled the newly created abomination around for a moment, before looking at Dame one more time...

"... Prepare for agony... "

Damrius was tired of this. Anger flared up inside him as the sword was twisted into something called Midnight. And this thing was using blood magic... something Damrius frowned upon. It was almost as bad as necromancy, in his opinion.

If this creature really was Stephen's body, then he had all of stephens abilities.. and then some. ANd as such, Dark Stephen would see... a ball of light in the center of Damrius's chest? A large, glowing aura, emenating from the center? And it was pulsating?

"You want agony? Do you have any idea what agony is, boy?"

Damrius was talking to the demon... yet he still referred to it as a boy, since it was in Stephen's body.Yet, the light from his body was increasing, the pulsing of it increasing and speeding up.

"I will show you.."

A bright flash would fill Stephen's eyes, yet the area around them wouldn't be affected by it, or would it even be visible as such.

As the flash dissapated, Damrius's hair had lines of black in it, his eyes were a glowing darkness, and his clothes - even the black tank top - would have markings of black lightning on them. The marks on his arms and chest, the only visible ones, were pulsating on there own. His next words were voiced by multiple people.

"The meaning of Agony!"

Damrius screamed it, and started charging the boy.
