Riza furrowed her brow a bit at Crenu's further explanation. Now that she thought about it, the challengers who'd faced Clair had been very nervous when their battles had first started, but it hadn't taken long for those nerves to settle once the match was under way. Riza wasn't so sure about herself, though. Contests were about showing off your Pokemon's grace and beauty, and it wasn't the pure power that was important. But from the way Crenu spoke, power was quite important when undertaking a gym battle, as was keeping a level head. Riza wasn't sure she could face up to that. "Sounds like a deal to me," she said finally, grabbing her bag and heading out of the room. "Let's get some breakfast and then go from there."
((If ya want we can just fast-forward from brekky, 'cause it's kinda boring...lol))

Crenu nodded and grabbed his bag as well before heading out of the room. He didn't initially follow Riza as he went to the dryer down the hall, which had now stopped. Haphazardly folding the clothes, he grabbed one of the shirts and threw it on, even he couldn't deny the pleasant feel of clothes right from the dryer. That done with, he made for the cafeteria.
Crenu didn't eat much, but he did eat a good enough amount of foods that would provide the proper nutrients his body needed. He couldn't really help it, efficiency was just something he did subconsciously and was probably unaware of it. Pupitar and Ariados had also finished their food as well, Poliwhirl was still outside somewhere and Hitmonlee couldn't be trusted out of his pokeball at the moment so they would have to eat later. Crenu packed some food for them and a little extra just in case, recalling his pokemon to their pokeballs. "We should probably go now, no telling what Poliwhirl 'll do without supervision for this long." He said with a bit of a sigh as he stood up, the new aggression was nice but if only Poliwhirl hadn't retained his impish nature when he'd evolved.
((lol, I agree))

Riza's breakfast consisted of high-energy, healthy foods, as did Sneasel and Ralts'. The two Pokemon were incredibly well-behaved and seemed to really be getting along quite well together. This made Riza happy and seemed to ease her fears of them growing too strong and not obeying her for now. She put away her dishes and brushed the stray crumbs from her clothing before looking to Crenu. "You left Poliwhirl outside by himself?" she asked, a bit surprised, but dismissed it. Chances were good the Pokemon could take care of himself, but Riza wouldn't trust her two to be on their own. Not just yet, at least.
"Okay then, let's go," she said, signaling to her two Pokemon as she began to head outside. Ralts teleported up onto her shoulder and Sneasel chose to walk along beside her. "So what's the plan then?" she asked, looking to Crenu again and folding her arms. She didn't really know how he was going to help prepare her for her first gym battle and she couldn't think of anything to do to teach him about Contests other than trying to string together a few appeals. She had a few combination ideas in her mind, but she didn't know how well they'd work in reality.

Surge frowned, and ran a hand through his short-cropped, white-blonde hair. "Well boy, if yer sure," he shrugged. The massive gym leader flexed his neck and shoulders, several loud cracks and pops following after. He took a single Pokeball from his belt and enlarged it, eying the boy carefully. "This'll be a one on one," he said curtly. "First to fall loses. Simple enough fer ya?"
He tossed the sphere up into the air and the ever-energetic Raichu burst from the sphere, doing a midair somersault and landing gracefully on his feet in front of Surge. Sparks showered down from his cheeks and he rubbed his paws together, eying the boy in front of him in much the same manner his trainer had a moment ago. "Anytime yer ready, Baby."
=-=-=-=-= Jaeshan only nodded and followed along after Keegan, humming a quiet tune as he took his newly-updated PokeDex out of his pocket, scanning through the pages as he walked. They were just about to the Pokemon Center when two somewhat heavyset guys blocked their path. "Aw, lookit the fat little Pokemon," the first one laughed, pointing at Shiva. "How can it even move, the little tub o'lard! Har har har!"
Uh oh, Jaeshan thought, looking quickly to Keegan. "We should just go," he said, nudging the redhead. "Let's not start something, eh?"

"Yeah, kinda forgot about him when I came back inside. I'm sure he's alright though, he hasn't really flown off the handle yet." When they got outside Crenu wasn't at all surprised to see Poliwhirl laying on his side sleeping, a little bubble coming from one of his nostrils. It was like a picture straight from a cartoon, and all Crenu could do was look at him with an unamused glare. Calling him back to his pokeball, Crenu looked around when he heard a low rustling sound from near by. He didn't hear it again, so he decided to ignore it for the moment. Instead he'd taken out the map that he picked up at the center when he first arrived and studied it. "I'm guessing the gym I heard about is here on Dewford." He said pointing to the South Western most island on the map, which looked to be a fair distance away from their current location. "You've already watched some gym battles in Blackthorne, so I guess all I can really help you with is battle practice. You and your Sneasel handled that Stantler well, so all you really need to do is practice more. Maybe learn to keep a level head under stress if you don't already know how." Crenu put another cigarette to his lips and lit it, letting the red tip burn a little before slowly inhaling and exhaling with his regular breaths. "You said you wanted to capture something before leaving Hoenn, any pokemon in particular?" He said before he started walking twords the beach, first thing he needed to do was get his coat from the shack, even if it was to hot to wear it right now.

Mike nodded at the battle arrangements, not at all surprised when Surge released a Raichu. "Like father like daughter I suppose." he said to himself, nodding at Napalm to step forward. "Baby?" he chuckled. "You're lucky I'm a very literal type of person, otherwise I'd take offense to that." The boy laughed, mostly at his own retarded joke. The Magby just stared at him in confusion. "Well then," murmured the boy, slightly embarrassed.
Napalm stepped forward and looked at his opponent, trying his best to look intimidating in front of the slightly larger foe, very envious of its strong looking legs and cool long tail. The Magby's jealousy got him all fired up, light smoke coming from the floor as he stood his ground. He remembered Mike's friend Kasiya having a Pokemon like this. They were really good at shooting lightning at long range, so he would have to play this one up close; a perfect opportunity to use his new Fire Punch move.
"Let's not waste any time shall we? Napalm, let's start this battle off with your trademark Psychic!" Mike commanded, ready to get this battle underway.
Blue light enveloped the Magby as he closed his eyes and waved his hands around in concentration. After a second or two, he thrust his paws forward, sending a telekinetic attack that rippled the very air at Surge's Pokemon.

Surge said nothing at Mike's comments and instead watched as the small Magby came forward. He hadn't expected an attack like Psychic, but the burly Gym Leader only smirked, not letting it phase him in the slightest. Raichu braced for impact, sliding back a few inches as the attack crashed into him, but he was far from ready to give in yet. "You know what to do Raichu," Surge said, nodding at the mouse.
Raichu's smirk very much mirrored his trainer's, static rippling from his cheeks as he jumped up high, long tail trailing behind him like a banner. "RAICHAA!" he bellowed loudly before firing off a massive Thunderbolt at the Magby.
=-=-=-=-= "Stop it!" Serenity shrieked, ducking down to avoid having her head taken off by Shocker's sudden Iron Tail attempt. "Calm down already, I'll explain everything!" Her forehead jewel was starting to shimmer a bit, and she studied the Raichu, tail quivering slightly. The mouse was just too riled up right now and wasn't about to listen to reason. I guess I'll have to fight her, the Espeon thought, gritting her teeth.
"I'll calm down when I see my trainer again!" Shocker growled, taking a few steps back when she realized the Espeon was ready to fight back. "Where's my Kasi!?" she nearly screamed, small tears forming at the corners of her eyes as she loosed an arrow-shaped bolt of lightning at the Psychic-type. "Tell me and I won't have to fry you!"
The bolt arched through the air and landed a direct hit on the Espeon, causing her to wince from the pain - she'd underestimated the mouse a bit. "I don't know," she growled back. "And there's no way to know unless you stop attacking me!" The Espeon's forehead gem flickered brightly before a spiraling, rainbow-coloured beam was fired at the mouse, slamming her square in the stomach and causing her to stumble back to the point where she backed into the wall, whimpering in pain. That Espeon was strong!

Yup, just like that! Napalm thought before being blasted by the Raichu's Thunderbolt attack. Electricity surged through the Magby's body, causing him to shake and twitch uncontrollably. It hurt much more than anything Cable had shot at him, that's for sure. Speaking of the plug, as Napalm stood up, the thought crossed his mind of his rival possibly having another form like he would. Napalm felt conflicted when he thought of the Pokemon's hypothetical new body. One part wanted to burn the Elekid to a crisp until he admitted that he was the better Pokemon, but a growing part of him secretly hoped that he did in fact change when he did. He'd never admit it, but he did enjoy when the two of them worked together, and hoped that it could happen again sometime soon.
Mike, unaware of his Pokemon's inner musings, had to think fast. Surge was a ranking officer of the army, so he was used to thinking quick on his feet in tense situations, most more life-and-death than a Pokemon match. He would have to be just as quick to stand up to him and his Raichu. "Napalm!" Mike's voice rang with authority. "Get in close with a Brick Break!"
The Magby's eyes sparkled at the command. This was it! He would be so proud! Racing forward as fast as his little legs could carry him, Napalm pulled back his right hand and curled it into a fist. As he ran, his hand burst into flames, leaving a smoking trail as the Live Coal Pokemon jumped into the air and brought his fist down on the Raichu.
Mike let out a very pleased 'Hm' at Napalm's actions. It appeared the little guy had learned Fire Punch. "Excellent." the boy said to himself. Mike thought back to his studies as a boy. He remembered that Fire Punch was one of the final moves that a Magby would learn before evolving into a Magmar. The very thought sent a pleasurable shiver up Mike's spine. That means Napalm is close to evolving! He thought, shaking with excitement. Maybe even this battle! The boy was practically jumping in place like an excited schoolgirl, losing his commanding composure he had just a moment ago. "Hee hee hee!"

Mewtwo was infuriated by Miltank's taunt, but Whitney was rather amused. "Come on, girls," she said, "send out your Pokemon. We've only got to hang in there for a little bit longer!" With a nod and a grin, Nina and Sabrina sent out two more Pokemon; Pookie and Regal made their debuts, joining Miltank. Regal stood with his arms behind his back, tilting his head and looking towards Mewtwo. "My, my," he said, his tone of voice entirely calm, "you certainly are quite a powerful creature. This looks dismal." Pookie, however, was rather indifferent to the threat standing before them. He elected to sit on his hindquarters and scratch behind his ear with his foot, before chasing his tail around. Mewtwo laughed. "This is my opponent?" he asked. "A Magikarp would be a greater threat to me!" Nina facepalmed herself as Pookie stopped chasing his tail; he looked upset. What was I thinking? she asked herself. "Pookie!" she hollered, "Mewtwo's making fun of you! Don't let him get away with being a meanie!" And Pookie wasn't about to let him get away with that, either! Scraping his feet against the ground, he charged toward Mewtwo in a Take Down attack, as Miltank barreled down along with him, continuing her Rollout attack. "Okay, Regal," Sabrina said to her Slowking. "Let's help them out. All that we need to do is stall, okay? Mess Mewtwo up." A nod. "Indeed, Sabrina," he responded. He turned his head to look in Mewtwo's direction, fixing his glance on the superior Pokemon. He seemed to be concentrating, staying perfectly calm.
Mewtwo, however, was less than calm. He didn't have much time left, and still had several Pokemon to take out. A victory was impossible, that was certain. All that he could do for now was inflict as much damage as his abilities would allow. Affixing his gaze on the two Pokemon bounding toward him, Mewtwo extended both arms out in front of himself, growling lowly. His arms started to glow, his eyes turned crimson...
But then...
"What?
What's wrong? Why can't I..."
Regal waved to his opponent. "Is Disable bothering you?"
Mewtwo was incredulous. He turned, ready to attack the Pokemon that was taunting him, but he was then struck by Miltank, and then by Pookie. The force from the latter attack sent the feline flying backwards, slamming into one of the cave's walls.
Pookie roared once, as he returned to Nina's side.

Riza decided to ignore the comment about keeping a level head for now. Generally she was a very level-headed person, but yesterday was definitely not a very good example. After all it wasn't everyday that you were threatened by Team Rocket and nearly had your Pokemon taken away from you. "Maybe there will be some trainers around Slateport we can battle," she said offhandedly, thinking back to yesterday. There would be less trainers roaming around by now and that probably meant that most of the stronger ones were gone. It wasn't that Riza was afraid of these stronger trainers, it was more of a reluctance to be around them until she could get to their level. 'Someday,' she thought. 'Someday.'
"Well, I don't know of any Pokemon for sure, but I did find this nifty little spot for fishing yesterday and I wouldn't mind going back for a while and seeing what else I could fish up." Sneasel nodded happily at the suggestion, wondering if she'd get to play with that funny Pokemon from yesterday. "We could pack up a lunch or something. It could be fun," she said, shrugging a bit, figuring that a person like Crenu wouldn't be up for something like this. "Or you know, whatever."

Nina laughed. "You still have time, Mewtwo," she said. "You don't have time enough to defeat us. Why not let us leave? You'll never see us again, and you'll save face in the process. It's the smart thing to do. So, what do you say?" The girl scratched Pookie on the head once or twice, who looked ready to attack again if necessary. "Let you leave?" Mewtwo repeated. "Never! I will fight you all until my last breath. Now, no more talking! FIGHT!" Whitney shook her head a little. "Talk about stubborn," she said. "Okay, Miltank. Get out there-- Rollout!" "Regal, use Water Pulse. No need to go overboard." "Alright, Pookie. This is the last turn. Mewtwo can't use Psychic anymore, so we don't have as much to worry about. I want you to get out there and try another Take Down, okay? Go help out Miltank."
Pookie waddled over to Miltank, both of them nodding to one another and then looking to Mewtwo. They shot off like two Zubats out of hell at their weakened opponent, ready to end things. Meanwhile, Regal inhaled deeply, shooting off an intermittent stream of ring-shaped water attacks toward the feline. This was it, and Mewtwo knew it. It was time for some quick thinking. He wasn't about to lose to these kids, that was for sure. Closing his eyes, Mewtwo centered all of his energy and floated off the ground a foot or so, and he waited... waited... waited...
And then he used Reflect. Miltank and Pookie collided with it as it appeared; the result was Miltank being sent rolling backwards, her attack still in effect; she eventually collided with one of the cave's walls. Pookie, however, had jumped toward Mewtwo as he created the reflective shield, and was essentially deflected backwards, his jumping direction reversed. Regal's Water Pulse attack also collided with Reflect, but Mewtwo changed the shield's angle of incidence just enough to change Water Pulse's direction; it ended up drenching a disoriented Pookie, causing the Pokemon to be knocked out.
Mewtwo felt his energy draining. He opened his eyes and laughed terribly. "You won't take me down. I refuse to give in so easily!" With a terrific screaming roar, he loosed a powerful Solarbeam, but wasn't aiming for any Pokemon-- no, instead, he carved the attack into the cave's ceiling and walls, causing the cave to begin to fall in. He laughed insanely, feeling his strength diminishing. "This was indeed an experience," he said, in between laughs. "I would love to face the lot of you again some day. Should you manage to escape this place, I do hope we will meet again." Within a blink of an eye, Mewtwo Teleported away, leaving the girls inside the collapsing cave.
Nina quickly recalled her fallen Pookie, while Whitney called her abused Miltank back. "What are we going to do?!" she exclaimed, freaking out just a little bit. "If we don't get out of here, and now, we're all going to die!" Sabrina remained calm, pulling out Regal's Pokeball, the red laser emitting from the ball taking him back to his sanctuary. "Don't worry," she said, releasing Oracle. "Join hands, everyone."
"And please, hold on."

"What, like a picnic?" Eyebrow raised as he looked at Riza, Crenu contemplated her proposal. Whenever the concept came to mind Crenu pictured a hill top with flowers and a tree with two or more people eating on a blanket. The whole idea was unappealing to him and didn't seem enjoyable in the least, but fishing on the other hand was different. Fishing involved patience and a calm mind, it was a pastime that he'd enjoyed since his childhood. He almost wished he'd done it more often, as the last time he'd fished was when he encountered Poliwag and captured the little prankster, he didn't listen much back then either. Plus this seemed like something that Riza wanted to do, and fishing aside Crenu was enjoying her company, though he'd never admit it. Thinking back on the boring picture of a picnic he normally saw no longer looked that way with her in the equation, and it wasn't like he had any suggestions. "Hmm, I guess we can do that. Don't know a thing about packing lunch though." He said with a little smile as the shack came into view, he seemed to be doing that more often than before.

Hades promptly threw his gray arms in front of his face. He didn't want to be caught off guard by the troublesome bubble attack again. As the bubbles connected one by one, he could feel the pain throughout his entire body, each pop more intense than the last. The Duskull could feel that he was reaching the end of his strength. However, he would keep battling as long as his being would allow.
Crap, Hades isn't going to last much longer like this. He's just too inexperienced, and that Squirtle has to be at least 3 levels above him. We'll keep going for now, but if it gets to rough, I'll end the battle.
"Hades, try Faint Attack again." Junko commanded in a voice of frustration.
Would that turtle thing fall for such an attack again? Maybe if I made it to where it's be impossible to not fall for it...
The ghost swiftly covered the distance it had been pushed back from the last assault. Positioning himself in front of the tiny turtle he thrust a lucid finger almost right up the opponent's nose, forcing the Squirtle's head to arch back. Hades immediately uppercut the Pokemon square in the chin.

"Aww man you serious! Man this stupid Aipom just messed everything up!"
"Hey man it's not like the train back to Slateport is gunna be busy. We can just do it then. Finish up your incredibly gay battle."
"Hey ******** you man!" The other shot back. "******** this Aipom to! Fluffy show them your Fury Swipes." The small Meowth just nodded and bracing itself it took off rushing forward towards the bouncing Aipom. The attacks from before were still hurting but like her trainer she was not happy with the Aipom. Unfortunately for Fluffy Luffy's speed was just to high now and her rage was not making things better for it. So it soon turned into a dance the Meowth slashing his claws forward and Luffy dodging easily.
The little Aipom was laughing and finally he decided to end this battle. There was no need for him to drag it out anymore. Grinning he dodged again, using his momentum he slammed another Brick Break into the poor cats body. Skidding back he watched as the cat fell to the side passed out , the battle, well the battle with the Meowth, was now over.
“Aw man Fluffy!” The Meowth was recalled into its pokeball. “Man this s**t sucks. I am so done here.” The other cursed as he walked to the end of the cart and hopped down.
“Man you are so stupid.” The other one sighed and shook his head and followed the other off of the train roof.
Meanwhile Robin was stuck serving the guests on the train food. She had passed her two friends and had bought them the food they wanted. Unfortunately it had cost Robin 300 more from her wallet. The poor girl was running out of money fast and it wasn’t too much fun. As she made her way through the train she was hearing strange bumps on top of the train. It was odd, it was like there was a battle going on outside of the train. Shrugging she looked out the window and saw something that was… well it was odd, not very surprising considering who it was. Outside the train peering in through a window was Luffy. “Damn it Luffy.” She muttered before going to the window and opening it enough for him to slip in and onto her shoulder. “I am going to assume those thumps were from you.” She muttered. Luffy just grinned at her. “I hate you.”

Surge raised an impressed eyebrow at the Magby as it launched a Fire Punch at his Raichu. Raichu let out a grunt from the flaming fist as it made contact with his side, the scent of singed fur tainting the air of the gym. "Heh, heh!" laughed Surge, clapping his hands loudly. "So Baby likes to punch, eh? Raichu, give 'em a taste of yer Mega Punch!"
Raichu grinned broadly when he heard the command, swiftly jabbing the air a few times like a boxer would, paw beginning to glow with a bright white light. "Cha!" he shouted before throwing an uppercut at the Magby's chin.
=-=-=-=-= Shocker groaned and glared at the Espeon, sparks still flying from her cheeks as she prepared to blast the Psychic-type with another Thunderbolt.
"Oh, no you don't!" Serenity yelled, leaping down off the bed and slamming her shoulder into the Raichu's stomach. "Just stop!" Each word was accented by another tackle, though Shocker wasn't giving in so easily and reared back a glowing fist, slamming the Espeon's forehead with a Brick Break attack. This caused Serenity to jump back, and as soon as there was some distance between the two Pokemon, Shocker bolted for the door, though her current state of panic caused her to miss that it indeed, was closed. The mouse whirled around to face the Espeon, who was again closing the gap between the two of them. Both were breathing heavily even though only a few attacks had been exchanged though neither was willing to give up as of yet.
The Raichu stole a quick glance behind her at the door and grinned a little before she turned back to the Espeon and stuck her tongue out at the feline-like Psychic-type. "Come and get me!" she called. "You stupid cat!" Serenity's eye twitched, and she growled, the gem on her forehead flickering brightly. Holy mother of Mew, I hope I know what I'm doing! the Raichu thought, gulping as a powerful Psychic was then launched directly at her head.
