Alex: eek You mean someone actually cares? Tumbleweeds has been on the back burner for so long... I haven't even looked at it lately. I didn't think anyone bothered to even check it anymore. It will probably be back up again someday, when I have the time/motivation to finish coding and organizing the art galleries.
LadyD: I hope to still. I need to get organized with the prize pail and the look and feel of the thread. I'm actually planning to make a test thread here in the guild in the next few days, to get feedback and prize ideas from me guildies.

Kimi: I check to see if there's any updates about it every single time you make an appearance. 3nodding
Edit: By the way, I assume you write out all of your own code for your site. What languages do you use? :3

Unknown Variable Kimi: I check to see if there's any updates about it every single time you make an appearance. 3nodding Edit: By the way, I assume you write out all of your own code for your site. What languages do you use? :3 XHTML (HTML for the overly a**l programmer), CSS, Javascript for the galleries and a smattering of things I don't fully understand, like the cgi guestbook and oekaki board. You can preview the site here, if you wish. It's about 75% done. In fact, let me know if you have any ideas for the FAQ -- it's got me stumped.
*browses* Jeez, I need to update my profile. Does it run way slow for you, Alex?

I'd think that the overly a**l programmer would refer to their code as XHTML instead of HTML. xd
It's looking pretty good, I've got to admit. 3nodding And yeah, it runs a bit slow, for the first few seconds of loading, and then the rest pops up. With my wireless internet connection, I believe I have a 300 kilobit download rate.
For the FAQ, you can probably do things like "How can I contact you," "Why isn't X feature available," "Will you do [insert favor] for me," and different art terms, policies, rules, et cetera.
After all, it's called Frequently Asked Questions. If nobody's asked you anything, then you don't have much to work with, right? wink
My site, when I can finally get a new host and hire an artist, will be coded fully in XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, PHP, CGI, and a host of other languages~ heart

Unknown Variable I'd think that the overly a**l programmer would refer to their code as XHTML instead of HTML. xd I meant XHTML itself, because it's pretty much the same as regular HTML, but with stricter rules about dotting and crossing proverbial i's and t's.Unknown Variable It's looking pretty good, I've got to admit. 3nodding And yeah, it runs a bit slow, for the first few seconds of loading, and then the rest pops up. With my wireless internet connection, I believe I have a 300 kilobit download rate. Thankye. I am horribly embarassed by the Writing section and the Profile needs a serious update, and I'm still not too sure about that purple.... but overall it satisfies me. I think I'm going to just remove the Requests & Commissions section until it's actually available, though. Unknown Variable After all, it's called Frequently Asked Questions. Yeah, I know about XHTML. Even though I was writing in it before even realizing it. I always make my code as neat and organized as possible. And because it's stricter, that's why I figured the a**l person would refer to it as that. Because they want everything to be perfect. xd The purple looks fine, actually. Also, take use of the < noscript > tags. If somebody doesn't have JavaScript enabled, they'll recieve whatever's in the noscript tag instead. And once they have JavaScript all ready, they can browse the site as normal, because they'll actually activate the JavaScript instead. Meaning you could actually make an alert come up with the R&C link saying that it's unavailable as of now, and to check back later. --- header --- language="Javascript" type="text/javascript"> function rcNA() { alert("Requests and Commissions are not available. Please check back later.") } --- body --- Requests and CommissionsThat'd work. And by the way, I used rcNA to as an acronym for Requests (and) Commissions Not Available.
