Nyl's eyes darkened, and her smile instantly dropped into an angry scowl.

Nyl shook her head, trying to get rid of the feeling of irony.
"Or we could wait for Fujiwara, who seems to know something about this specific demon...but I don't really want to wait."

She sighed, sitting down on the top porch step. She'd go after Fen right now if she could, weak and powerless or not. Nothing felt better--especially recently--than going after demons.
"Is there something else you go by? Like an actual name? Calling you 'fox' all the time loses its potency."

Nyl was babbling because she was restless. She wanted to jump up and start hunting for Fen, as useless as that was going to be. She didn't even know where to start to think about looking.

Nyl shook her head at the fox's actions. She considered and instantly dismissed the idea that, in the absence of Fen, the fox might turn to searching for other...desires.
