Tenko smiled happily as he saw the little puppet trying to beat on the log. He smiled and nodded. "It's okay. That's how I felt too little buddy." He said to his puppet and made it nod its head understandingly. His strings flickered for a moment but he held them steadily and controlled the flow, forcing them back to normal. It was happening less and less now that he was getting better at his control. He laughed as he added some kicks in with the punches. All he could hear was tiny 'click, click, click, clack' 's. He couldn't help it. It was just so odd to try and see that. If he added some senbons to the puppets fists he bet it would cause some annoyances.
He let the chakra strings vanish. He wanted to work on making them as well as controlling them. He took a deep breath and waited for his chakra to settle. Once settled he started once more to pull and guide his chakra through his body and to the tips of his fingers. He flicked his wrist as strings flowed out of his fingers and latched onto his small puppet. He made it push itself up into a standing position before he continued He made the puppet jump and spin kicked. It hit with a weak 'clack' as he was forced to correct the puppets falling so it landed on its legs. He smiled at that thought. 'What a nifty tool. Why don't more people do this?' Tenko decided to try something with more of a challenge to it. He went to try to make the puppet do a spinning roundhouse kick but the strings fluxed and snapped, causing the puppet to crumple to the ground lifeless. He sighed as he looked at the puppet now laying there on the ground. He sighed again and decided to try something less flashy. He focused his chakra to his finger tips and sent them out with a flick of his wrist but the strings quickly sagged and fell to the ground a foot away from him. He wondered what he did wrong. He thought he might have been too right on it. He hoped that wasn't the case. Kugutsu no Jutsu (Puppet Technique) Stage I: Puppet Play DC 15 Familiarisation with the art of puppetry. Tenko smiled as he decided he was going to keep trying at it. He took a deep breath and focused. His chakra slowly moved from the pit in his core and snaked its way to his finger tips. He let his chakra shoot out as small thin threads were sent from his finger tips towards the puppet. Sadly once again, they only made it a foot from him before dropping straight to the ground. He bit his tongue to keep himself from yelling at the puppet but he knew it wasn't the puppets fault. He wondered if puppets were going to be this hard to work with. He quickly pushed that thought from his mind. He had to be confident that he was going to master this jutsu and use puppets like none other. Tenko smiled as he kept it up. He wasn't going to stop now. Not while he was so close. He focused on his chakra as he closed his eyes. That small pool had gotten even smaller. 'Even so it would be enough. I can do this. ' He pulled the chakra slowly through his body as he began to focus on the tips of his fingers. He felt a slight tingling sensation as he let his chakra fly out of his fingers only to stop up short. He sighed sadly. He wasn't going to give up but this was getting frustrating. He had to think of something or he wouldn't master this jutsu. He felt the strain on his chakra as beads of sweat fell from his face.
He was getting exhausted but he didn't get up. He had dreamed of doing this since he had first learned. He was going to master it even if he passed out from training. 'And if I pass out... Once I wake up again... I'll train some more!' He felt slightly tired but he had felt worse before. He smiled as he nodded. "Right! I'm going to do it this time!" He closed his eyes and focused on his chakra. He felt it stir slightly but then it wouldn't move. He wondered what it could be. His chakra wasn't mastered. He had decent control but it appeared he needed better control. He took a deep breath as he let the chakra slowly settle down into his core as he sighed longingly.

Tenko smiled slightly. He wasn't going to let a few failures in a row keep him down. He was as strong as he ever has been. He was going to master this jutsu this time! He made a hand sign as he focused on his chakra. It slowly began to turn inside of him and slowly work its way through his body. He focused on putting his chakra onto the tips of his fingers. He felt a slight tingle where the chakra was building up. He released his chakra as the strings shot into the air and then vanished. He blinked at where they were and scratched his head. "Guess they weren't as focused as I thought they were."

Tenko took a deep breath and fixed the smile onto his face. " Okay THIS time I will get it for sure!! I just know I will!" He nodded to himself as he didn't give up. He took a deep breath as he closed his eyes and focused. He slowly guided the twisting chakra up into his arms and led it to the tips of his fingers he exhaled and released his chakra. He was shocked when he saw that the chakra strings had actually landed. "I-I didn't actually think I'd get it this time... " He stood there blinking as he walked his puppet over to his bag and made it jump in. "Like I said. Easy." He wiped the sweat from his brow as he released the jutsu. Mokujin was just taking a stroll in the grove when he heard the familiar sound of wooden limbs knocking against each other. Extremely curious, he walked in the direction the noise was coming from and was overjoyed by the sight that presented before him. One of his old students, Tenko, was practicing the Kugutsu technique! Completely unable to contain his happiness, he practically flew to his student to assist him in his training.
"Tenko-kun!", he practically yelled. "You're really starting to get de hang of dis!", he said, filled with pride. "Is dere anything you'd need help with? You seem to have de basics down!", he asked.

Tenko looked up and noticed his sensei. "Hey Mokujin-sensei! And actually yeah. Where can I make a puppet. That's next on my to do list." He grabbed his bag as he walked over towards the living puppet sensei. He put on his coat before he reached his sensei, nearly tripping on his bag in the process. He quickly caught himself and stood in front of his sensei and looked up at him. "Do you know of any such place where I can do that. Hmmm. Plus I'd have to make the gadgets too. Know anywhere like that Sensei?"

Mokujin smiled at his student's request, it was clear he was dedicated to the art of puppeteering if he was going to make his very own puppet at such a young age. "Well my classroom was originally designed as a puppet workshop, we just tossed in some desks when we decided to take regular students in along with puppeteering enthusiasts. All de tools you'll need are in there!", he explained. "Also, if you need any help I'll be right dere, so don't hesitate to ask!", he added.
Grabbing Tenko's shoulder with his wooden grip he practically forced him towards the academy, saying "We are going to have so much fun!".

Tenko nodded at what his Sensei had to say. It sounded right to him. His classroom did have all the stuff in it too so it sounded like a perfect place no matter how you thought about it. He tightened the strap on his bag as he looked up to see the puppet sensei was leading him toward the academy, very eager for him to make his puppet. He wondered what Sensei's definition of "Fun" would be. He seemed like a fine and capable person. So he let the sensei lead him away. Not that he had much of a choice but he smiled and laughed as he was lead away, towards the academy. Plus he liked this sensei. He was nice, odd at times and spacey but nice.

Y A M A N A K A I don't care what the village wants. All I want is not to die without leaving a trace. On the path up to the village, did he take a wrong turn somewhere?
Green eyes flickered nervously here and there, taking into account his surroundings. He hadn't been to this part of Kiri before. This foreign place seemed to be free from the ever-present mist that shrouded the village... A grove of sorts, from the looks of it, but this grove was also odd. He was sure this place was still part of the forested grounds, perhaps at the border of the great forest. If there was enough trees further ahead to form a barricading wall, that would explain why the mist did not leak to here...
His gaze trailed to the ground, and it was only when he didn't notice any obvious tracks belonging to a large animal that he calmed. This was a place the shinobi of the village actually use. That would easily explain the lack of wild predators. Had he been intending to make this place his destination, he probably would've otherwise even liked it. It had a certain serenity and the fact that the mist did not veil this area gave it a certain air of solid reality.
The sky was still bright, there was time to look for a way out. But he probably should make haste, just in case. He didn't like the fact that the grounds here were foreign to his knowledge... Besides, he cannot be fully certain there were no predatory animals, and evenings always did bring out unwelcome things.

Y A M A N A K A I don't care what the village wants. All I want is not to die without leaving a trace. Before he could move more than a few steps, his shoe caught in the gnarled roots on the ground and with a splendid smack! he fell. He swore as he managed to steady his fall in time with his palms, but the roots dug bloody lines into them. That is going to hurt for weeks on end.
"Ouch...the heeell-..." Groaned Inori, as he took a seat and gently nursed the stinging trials. Go figures this was why no predatory animals came here... It was hard to navigate these parts, huh? Thanks to the thicket in these parts. But that didn't change the fact that he had to get out.
After a few moments, he got up, and looked on with renewed determination upon the trial. He'll just have to be a little more careful of where the grounds changed elevation and where it looked too deceptively easy to navigate with the verdant greenery hiding the tangled mess beneath. Easy, right?

Tebiki was sooooo lost. Okay, she would admit it... in her mind, but not out loud... it was her fault. She's the one who took the dare. She just HAD to be all "I can do aything I want" and piss off her cousin. I should have waited to challenge him when I actually got my "sight," damn it all... But, no... she had been dared to start in the middle of wherever she was, and make her way back home, before dark. Otherwise... what did she lose out of this? A weeks worth of allowance. Oh, and her pride. That was important, too. Now, one might wonder how the hell she got in the middle of where she was and didn't just retrace her steps... well, that's because she was blind-folded and carried out there... not without a struggle, though. Still, she was plopped in the dirt, and then quick as a breeze, she was alone... with the trees... and the bugs. All she could do from that point was start to wander...

Y A M A N A K A I don't care what the village wants. All I want is not to die without leaving a trace. Inori always knew he wasn't exactly physically fit, but truly, running was quite exhausting. His breathing came hard very quickly only a few moments into the run, and soon enough, he had to stop for air. He looked back to examine his progress, even while he was left panting for breath. The grove he was in originally was gone, left behind, but still he hadn't gone that far.
"Who would've thought it's this tiring..." He muttered, raising a hand to his brow to wipe the moist skin. His muscles were already beginning to feel sore, dammit, and he wasn't even running for that long. If only he had a canteen of water or something...something to keep him going...
There was the rustling sound of someone parting the unwelcome curtains of low-bush branches. He instantly stiffened, becoming quite suspicious, and barked out: "Who's there!?" Perhaps if he sounded fierce enough, the wild animal will turn tail and run.
His mind raced.
What if it is a bear? Didn't Hatsuyuki-chan also say that wolves come from time to time to live on the Fubuki Estate grounds...? His eyes darted to the ground, was there perhaps something he can use as a weapon? A stone? A stick? Oh, who was he kidding. What was he going to do with the stick, poke the bear in the eye (if it did turn out to be one)?
Why did he have to call out to whatever it was out there again?
The best idea was probably to run!

She, too, had heard someone or something fumbling about in the brush... he body stiffening. Not knowing where she was, she wasn't sure what the wildlife was like... for all she knew she could be running into a moose or a bunny. Fortunately, or not, that bunny had a loud bark... an intimidating voice sounded through the blurs of green and brown. "That's what I'd like to know!" Her own voice was gruffer than she had intended, but the last thing she needed was for some shinobi with a superiority complex to find her with a wimpering tone. That wouldn't do at all. She had to be tough... constantly. Still, rather than staying where she was, she started to wander in the direction of the voice she heard... maybe this was her lucky day?
