Remus and Rina sipped their drinks calmly while the skull of Prulg the Merciless sat on the table. Remus had been gone awhile and he was curious as to what had gone on since he left for Kirida ki Ral Gulf. He listened in on Farskon and Emma's conversation.

Farskon, studied Remus's body language. Caught red-handed listening in. The paladin didn't care, there were no secrets to hide."Yeah he seem's nice too, told me a few stories, and stuff... I asked him if he ever knew...the vamp, but he said he hand't heard of 'im."

A faint flush came to Emma's features as she pondered what stories her Lord had told the boy. The man had plenty of embarrassing tales concerning her in various states of undress.
Emma, I'm hurt. You don't trust me?

"Emma?" Farskon asked."You there?" He cocked his head."Blimey, Emma you seem a little out of it." He turned, and asked the barkeeper for some soda, and then turned back to Emma.

Emma refocused on Farkson despite the second conversation she was maintaining over a telepathic link and quite a few miles.

There was a knock at the tavern door and the Imperator and Admiral Rina jumped. Remus crept over to the tavern window and peered outside. He breathed a sigh of relief and opened the door. Some Maltir military personnel walked in and saluted Rina. They asked for Prulg's head and Remus was more than happy to give it to them. Rina and the Maltir then walked out of the tavern.

"Aaah nevermind,"Farskon said, gulping down his soda."So what magic are ya working at the moment?" He grinned, and shrugged."I don't know honestly, but I can sort of...um 'feel' you could say when magic is being used strongly."

Remus leaned back and pulled a newspaper from his coat. Though it seemed like he was reading, he was listening to everything the paladin and the enchantress were talking about.

Spent my days with a woman unkind,
Smoked my stuff and drank all my wine.
Made up my mind to make a new start,
Going to california with an aching in my heart.
Kaok entered the tavern, goggles down tight and secure, buttons all the way up, cravat and gloves practically sterile. All in all, it seemed as if she'd had relatively few adventures on the battlefield that day. Or else had meticulously cleaned her uniform just moments earlier.
After sitting at the bar in her usual seat, she asked the bartender for a glass of ice water. With the amount condensation on the outside of the glass, she removed her gloves to take the glass. It wouldn't do to ruin a good pair.Someone told me theres a girl out there

"Oh alright," He nodded, hiding the hurt from being lied to."So Emma can you tell me a story about some historical figure you met?" He stretched, and added."I like hearing about it, because it makes me feel closer to a normal life; no matter how odd that may seem to ya."
He turned to Remus, and eyed him suspiciously, Farskon's gaze turned to Kaok. He grinned a little, it was good to see the goa-faun he meant after a stressful day. The paladin waved shyly.

"Nii-pah~" Drathi appeared in a puff of pink and red smoke. It was getting close to December-- well, it was less than a month away. The Magical-Girl gene that the boy had somehow inherited from his mother had activated and made him have this involuntary transformation.

Of course with Kaok in the tavern, Remus lost all interest in eavesdropping. He packed up his newspaper and went to go sit next to the faun. After a short silence, Remus spoke up.
"I'm gone for a few days and I don't even get a hello?" the Imperator asked the Lieutenant teasingly.

The problem with these goggles was the complete lack of peripheral vision. Kaok had known that someone was sitting next to her, but had been unable to identify the person by breathing pattern. She felt more than a little silly.
The Lieutenant lifted the massive cover from her face once she heard him, and laughed a little incredulously. She stood almost immediately and wrapped Remus in a warm hug.Someone told me theres a girl out there

Emma looked at Farkson with an unreadable expression. "Perhaps another time." There was a faint flicker of sadness in her features as the link vanished from her mind, the voice it had brought with it fading away.
She looked over at Kaok, waving in greeting.
