They were nearing where Jake and Faith's father had fought. The arrows were still where they had landed, and there were blood drops on the ground.

"N-nothing, I'm sure," Jake said. He hadn't realized that was where they were. He kept walking, a little faster. He didn't want to tell her what had happened.

Jake paused and picked up one arrow. "Decent trajectory," he said. "If I hadn't turned I'd be dead." He turned with the arrow and showed it to Faith.
