((Haha okay...Frank said I can go ahead and do this, go with my plan.))
Nessa gave all of them a brooding sort of look before hunching over and digging through her collection of mysterious items inside her mysterious bag. Sam would have his way, that was fine with her, heal the bastards, at least then they'd put up a good fight. When the group decided to go she gave a defeated shrug and walked out of the church, giving an angry glare at both Sam and Seth. She was obviously brewing something in her mind, a plan beyond their imagination. Though what that was, she wasn't quite sure herself.
Sam gave Seth a wide grin and sighed heavily. "Thank you! They'll be so happy!" He exclaimed before giving the man a confused look at the question. "Ummm...I guess I came to see you. Though Nessa suggested it before me. She just decided not to ask." He gave Nessa a smile who returned him a snarl of anger and then shoving her way out of the church.
"Let's move it. Sun's about to set and we don't want our magical healing man...boy...womanly man to get scared." She gave a sinister smile before striding away, Sam closely following at her heels like a worried mother.
Just as she began to turn a corner someone roughly slammed into her. Both yelled out however while Nessa was cursing and saying rude things the other was already running down the path, long brown hair slapping around as the brown skinned figure disappeared into the crowd. "You little b***h..." Nessa began and started to chase after her. Sam gave a cry of frustration and looked back at the group, eyes helpless. Figuring they'd all follow he too followed the two women.
Eve was trying to find Dash, and fast. To her pleasure there the prince was...fighting a boy. She ran towards him, panting heavily. She had run all the way from the outskirts of the town to the other side in nearly a few minutes flat, something she did not do often. "Guys." She breathed out, shoving her hands onto her thighs for support as she bent over to catch her breath. Silky strands of coffee colored hair fell over her bare shoulder. "Sally." Another deep breath.
Finally she stood up and pointed over towards the horizon near the setting sun. It appeared as though the sky were ripped, darkness inside, what was coming out was something remarkable. Words and letters flickered like static electricity, fading as they oozed from the rip. By now she had gained her breath and she moved closer to Dash, waving the other woman off. "Sorry sorry, really, but Sally. We were just finishing her first lesson when the witch came by. She took Sally. I tried to stop her, honestly, but she froze my body. She said something about ending it all or something. Whatever it was it wasn't good...and I have a feeling that she was talking about that...tear or whatever...not to mention the way things have been acting around here." She turned her pink eyes on Lok with a sad look. "I'm sorry...I really tried...but it wasn't just her...there was some horrible looking..." She paused, not needing to say more.

((I'MA POAST... AND THEN I'MA POAST IN THE ODDER ONE.))
Any other woman would have faltered at such a remark from the prince. Any other woman would have found themselves quite weak in the knees for the way his ears turned a light shade of red. Any other woman would have been able to die happy in that moment.
Kaelyn was not any other woman. She smirked at his remark and his blush.
"I do hope then... that you don't plan on going easy on me to spare my pretty face!" She shouted as they began to spar. And she quite enjoyed herself. It had been quite awhile since she'd enjoyed a good fight.
She too soon found herself rather short on breath and damp with sweat however, but on she went, only to find herself slowing up and leaving an opening for attacks. Dash took it as soon as he saw the opportune moment. Kaelyn smiled a sideways smile and fended him off just as easily as she attacked, but she was tired and her stubbornness and fire to fight couldn't account for that.
There was a moment where she missed a step and was hit roughly in her abdomen with the broad side of the sword. She winced and took a gasp of air, but yet still she smiled.
"Got me. You bloody b*****d... I'm..." Kaelyn coughed a little. "Impressed..."
Lok looked VERY disappointed at this point, having been on the edge of his toes the entire match. She could have taken him and he knew it.
"Want to have another go?" But the Lady Knight would not get her wish. Princess Eve rushed between them and fanned her away. Kaelyn raised her hands in a sort of half shrug and backed up a few steps.
Lok sprinted forward to stand beside the prince. "What about Sally?" He demanded. He glowered when she pointed towards the sky. "I don't CARE about that. Where's SALLY?" He growled low in his throat.
He felt his mouth go dry when he was told. For a moment he felt numb, but his usual rage was quick to replace it. "Where?" He wanted to know. "In there?!" He shouted and pointed to the rent apart sky where words flickered on and off in broken story.
Seth had been whining about NOT being afraid of the dark anymore when they had come upon the gathering in the sparring field... even though he somewhat clung to Nessa as he said so, but now that wasn't his worry.
"What's all the hubbub?" He asked of the group.
Lok glared at this long haired fellow. "Who the hell are you?" He spat and then seemed to loose interest. "I don't have time for this."
Seth pretended to look offended. "I'm only here to heal two men or so... perhaps I'll just be changing my mind."
Kaelyn grinned. "Ah. You did it after all, Lady Thief." She said of the dark woman.
((OKAY. ENOUGH. NOW TO TITAN AND... yes. Also:" For Amleth we'll make the time a little different just so he could have had some practice time in... it's so sad he didn't make it all way D:>... *types*))
Once Titan was QUITE sure that Amleth was absolutely sure about his sword and its weight they got straight to work.
Titan worked with him first to get some of the basics down... things such as the right stance, the proper way to hold a sword, simple blocks and attacks, and small tricks. However, that was far as he would teach him. He didn't feel a cripple would teach him as well in the real ways of battle. From there he let Alandra take over.
((Ala will type some exciting summerizing stuff I'm sure... BUT))
Titan, when he saw the tear in the sunset, was first unsure if he was really seeing right. It wasn't until Gwaith and Kyros returned later and assured him that the sky was QUITE torn that he looked seriously into the distance. The last rays of the sun caught in his dirty blonde hair and the rent in the air reflected in his mismatched eyes.
For brief moment he looked truly heroic and not like a clumsy fool. It was in this time when Alandra had also realized that terrible hole in the sky that he grabbed her and kissed her like he always dreamed he would have. Though, it was maybe slightly clumsy, but he felt it was perfect somehow.
"There!" He said, satisfied as he drew back taking deep breaths. "I just thought you should know." He said and fixed his hair a little.
((hahahahaha, THE END!))

((uwaaaaah. Postingggggs. Ahhhhh.))
((Alandra first this time!))
"Arm wrestling. Right," Alandra said, pinching at the bridge of her nose. She loved the little guy, she really did, but it was in small doses. He was already starting to grate on her nerves. "Honestly, Amleth, he'll gloat whether or not you compliment him. I'd save your breath." She gave the pigman a wink, then gave Cort a good natured glower. She hoped he wouldn't take that statement the wrong way.
Upon hearing that Cort was missing three or more weapons, Alandra shook her head, "It must be rough. We all know how much you like your weapons. If you want, grab what you need from my or Titan's shops, we'll put it on your tab. Because right now, we're going teach Amleth a few things." She paused, then added, "Feel free to come back and offer your own advice, if you want to. Kyros is gonna go with you to make sure you only take what you need to replace." She eyed the dragon that was just now arriving, and he gave an obedient nod.
That done, they started giving Amleth a bit of direction. Titan took up the beginnings of it, but soon stopped and turned it over to Alandra. She wondered why he hadn't done more - she'd seen the man fight - but shrugged it off. She'd wonder about that later. Currently, she gave Amleth a grin and showed him a few more things, making sure he repeated it perfectly before she moved on. In a few hours, the pigman, while still a bit tentative about the whole weapon thing, was on his way of being quite a capable swordsman. If nothing else, he could defend himself.
Pulling her long hair back and taking a few deep breaths - they'd just sparred and Amleth had done QUITE well - Alandra nodded. "I think you're getting there. I'm sure Dash'll gladly keep up your training. He's pretty good with a sword after all. But keep at it, Amleth, and I really think you could get somewhere with this, am I right Titan?"
But the blonde haired man was quite distracted by the setting sun... No, it wasn't the sun, but a horrible, frightening hole. It was as if someone had taken a great big blade and sliced the pages of their existence, and what had been holding reality together was unraveling rapidly.
She'd been gaping open-mouthed at the sky, but was suddenly distracted. Surprised by Titan's sudden move, she just about said something right into his mouth, but instead stopped and turned quite red. He was KISSING her. When he drew back, the usually quite word-ready princess stood speechless, then gave a crooked smile. She lightly touched her fingers to her lips, then waved a finger at Titan, "Youuuu...." She shook her head and laughed, nearly tackling the poor man to return his gesture.
Once that was done, she tugged at the ends of her hair and turned back towards Amleth and Cort, who had returned, restocked with weapons of all sorts. She cleared her throat and tried to put on her air of knowing-what-she-was-doing-and-not-being-flustered-by-sudden-unexpected-kisses. "Amleth, go find the Prince and Wolf and your friends." She looked worried, "I hate to say it, but this might be your guys' fault. Something should be done about it."
((wow, that got long. OKAY. ONWARD.))
Dash gave quite a wry grin when Kaelyn finally admitted defeat. He was fairly winded himself, and hated to admit that if they both were well rested and energized, Kaelyn would probably have won in the end. "I'm not the Prince JUST on looks, you know."
He would have taken Kaelyn up on her offer, but noticed Eve rushing towards them like an entire clan of dragons were hot on her heels. Any amusement Dash might have been enjoying from either the fight or seeing Eve run like that was instantly dashed when she breathlessly managed to tell them what had happened. As her story progressed, a far more stern, angry look crossed the Prince's pretty face, and by the end, he and Lok nearly had the same expression.
The tear in the fabric of the sky had just come to Dash's attention moments before Eve had appeared, and it was more than just worrisome. Frowning deeply, he put a comforting hand on Eve's shoulder, and looked over to Lok before addressing all of them, "It sounds like she's employed the Wolf... And Sally's with her too? Well, we'll just have to get her..." He trailed off, catching a group of people scurrying in their direction.
They were odd looking indeed. One furry little guy was carting three (well, two and one dead) men on a horse, one had HORNS, and another was actually willingly touching the thief he'd run into earlier... OH! "Are you the healer then?" He asked Seth, who seemed rather busy being irritated at Lok. Not surprising.
Set was busy sulking near the back of the group, contemplating whether or not he should summon some sort of shadow beast to scare the crap out of Seth. He decidedly didn't though, when he realized just who the injured ones were. One was QUITE OBVIOUSLY the Prince - he was so gorgeous it made Set feel a bit ill. The other looked rather wolfish, but there was something missing about him to be the real Wolf. "You should just shut up and let him heal you..." He added, unhelpfully.
Dash eyed Nessa for a moment, then Set, his eyes resting on the Shadow's horns momentarily. Shifting his gaze from him to Lay, he gave a confused smile before finally settling on Seth, who, by the way he was dressed, was quite obviously the healer. "Think you're capable of healing this?" He tugged his glove off and held up his blackened palm. "We don't know what sort of sorcery caused it, just that I broke my sword and managed this when I snapped the spell. Lok got a mouthful of the problem," He threw his thumb in the wolf's direction.
((HAHA OKAY. I'd write more but this is getting DANGED LONG. So, I don't. Um... I guess we should like, gather groupage and head out to save Sally... Or, if we can figure a side-quest for our Journey friends, that'd kick butt too. :O I'd hate to see 'em gone so soon... Cort and Kaelyn can probably come along too, ne ne? We're gonna leave Titan and Alandra here - they were just for a few moments of fun anyway. XD
OKAY. That might have been a bit confused, but uh. THERE IT IS. D:> ))

The horse did not like these new people walking alongside them. The horned man let off an unnerving aura, and the dark-skinned woman reeked of malice and blood. And the long-haired man... he was just annoying. And, on top of all that, one of the horse's riders had wet himself. The horse snorted.
"I know, I know," Lay replied, irritated. "Tch, like this is the first time you've had a wet saddle."
The horse shook its head.
"Listen, we're almost done with this all, we'll get these men off you and you won't have to be around these freaks any longer. If you're just patient for a minute--What? No. We agreed on the reward ahead of time--oh, come on, yes he's an annoying fop, but that's not worth three apples' raise."
Lay gave the others a faint glare as the horse snorted again. "I'll have you know that it's not three riders, days of walking, or rough terrain that makes him demand a raise. It's you three."
By the time they reached the ring, Lay had finally worked down the creature to agree to one more apple, but was in a foul mood; not because he hated haggling with animals; the damned beast had been through enoug hin the last few days. More, he was bothered because it was them who caused the problem. This didn't bode well for what was to come.
In his distraction, he managed to not see the most pressing matter first. He noted a wild-looking young man snarling at a woman, paying their group no real mind. His attention went to the blonde, ridiculously pretty fellow up in the ring; a Hero if he'd ever seen one.
Then, recognizing the tension in the air, and the amound of attention turned to the horizon, he looked over to see the gaping Plothole. "Well s**t," he decided. "That's no good."
((HAY REMEMBER THAT LAY TALKS TO ANIMALS? 8D Also, I'll update this with Amleth in the near future.))

Eve breathed in deeply and looked at Lok with narrowed eyes. "Why else would I frantically point over there?" She pursed her lips and began to run a hand through her long silky hair nervously, a habit of hers when she was put on the spot-light. "I'd only imagine she'd take the girl there. It's pretty obvious. Then again I'm not a witch, or a villain, so I can't really know for sure." She licked her lips and glanced over at Dash as he touched her shoulder. A subtle shiver ran down her spine but she simply gave him an upset look and turned her head. She wasn't about to let him get joy out of seeing her melt when he touched her. This was Eve, not some stupid childish girl. She was THE princess. Independent...no matter what her stories said.
"It did look like a wolf..." she said slowly and rubbed some sweat from her forehead. "Then again...it was really big...and VERY ugly. Aren't wolves supposed to be majestic and graceful or something?" She began but stopped when Nessa and the group came in all of them would have made her laugh aloud at how random they seemed to be thrown together. Definitely not a team one would expect, yet now was not the time for laughing.
"You..." Nessa growled at Eve and bared her teeth at the woman. Sam wobbled in next to Nessa and Seth, panting heavily. He knew Nessa was fast...but ALL of them to be that fast...it was insane. His green eyes looked up and around at all the people. Now it seemed there was a new woman...and really really pretty at that. He gawked at her as the others were talking.
Eve grinned at Sam and winked before looked back at the others. Her actions left Sam red faced and slack jawed.
Nessa looked at Seth as he was holding on to her arm. She glared at him momentarily before looking away. She was used to him doing this by now. She was also used to wearing the pants in the relationship, so it no longer bothered her. "I didn't DO it. They did it themselves. If it were my say, I would have left you all alone to die." She said darkly and rather disgustingly cleared her throat and then spat to the side of her, only nearly missing the gawking Sam, who recoiled with a disgusted look on his face.
When the prince showed Seth his wound Nessa grinned and rolled her eyes. "I've seen worse. People with heads cut off, limbs missing...blood spewing places...oh and there was that one time when the guy had his intes-"
"Nessa...you're gonna make me spew..." Sam groaned and Nessa gave him a frustrated look.
"You never told me you were hurt..." Eve began, her eyes narrowing at Dash with annoyance. "Not that I really CARE."
"Whatever. Of course he can heal it. That's the only thing he's good at anyways, magical stuff...all that fancy crap." Finally she pushed Seth off her arm and turned her eyes on Lay who was busy talking to the horses. Another thing she should have been used to be now...but it still creeped her out a bit. Animals were not made to talk to people. "Stop your mumbling with the thing. Who cares anyways? He's a horse." Nessa grumbled and glared at said horse. "Can we please just heal these stupid people and get going? I somehow doubt that hole in the sky is the only problem we have. So hurry it up, pretty boy." Nessa waved a hand at Seth before turning around and examining the surrounding area. She had a hunch that there was something else out there...that had their names on it...and that if dealt with would get her some fame and fortune. "Smells delicious."
((Haha, I figured, maybe...we can have the wolf be the Journey team's problem, while the others go find the witch. Since the witch probably would be smart enough to send something else to distract people... It's up to you.))

((*cough* six days counts as the near future.))
Amleth had never worked so hard in his life. Sure, he had broken his back almost every day for the last several years building that house, working in the hot, obnoxiously cheery sun, working until his legs felt fit to give out. But this was an entirely different sort of work. His muscles ached from twisting a million different unfamiliar ways, he couldn't breathe, he poured sweat--some would say 'like a pig' but he would argue far moreso. He blade was awkward and unfamiliar in his grip, he was always an instant away from tripping and failing.
But oh god, this was fantastic. This was work that made him feel... useful. The house was a miserable task with no end, sure to end in inevitable destruction, a futile effort. But learning to fight, this could actually DO something. It was a feeling he'd never known before. Each struggle for breath and evade his trainer's blows was the best feeling in the world.
When Alandra pulled back, his face was a bright red from the work. He would have smiled from her compliment, if he weren't wheezing so hard. He leaned back against one of the boxes as she headed over towards Titan; he might have thought he couldn't take another step if he tried, but it was amazing what stamina a person could have when they had a weapon with them.
The was a small muffled noise, and Amleth gave a weary glance to the tent's opening. His jaw dropped--which should he gape at more, the horrible, warped rip in the sky, or the rather impressive embrace the quasi-sunset silhouetted?
"Fin'ly got to it, eh?" Amleth started, and whipped his head to see Cort returned, laden with several new wicked, curving blades. "'Bout time, wanker's been holdin' that rot in fer ages, I tell yeh wot. Swear, the woman may be a beast with them weapons, but she musta been a real ijjit not to see the pole in his breeches. Feh." He was talking quite loud enough for everyone to hear.
"Ahhhhmmm," Amleth decided. "I--er. The... the sky, it's..."
"Yeh. That's'n issue, fersher. Some right stupid business." Underneath his bush of beard, multicolored teeth were bared in an evil grin. "Likely quite a thing or two ta kill, with all that evil flowin' around." He gripped his MURDRIN ACKS. "Up to us fighter-types to take care of those sorry sods!"
Amleth bit his lip and looked at the sky. He had just wanted to get away from his life. He hadn't thought something so trivial, so basic would cause something so horrific. The Stories had never really needed to make sense, but this was a whole different sort of Plot Hole.
He nodded to Alandra, and staggered out of the tent, pushing back his fatigue. "R-right. I've gotta... gotta go find the others. Thanks again, really, for everything, and, er--I gotta go." He ran off as best he could, his new sword with him, to wherever it was the others had gone.
Cort scratched the back of his head. Damn, did he have fleas again. "Well, then. You two might wanna keep eatin' each others faces fer a while, dunno how much longer there's gonna be a world to do it in." He grinned. "S'pose I'll go after the kid, if'n he's off to kick some tail. Yew two can stay if'n you want. Spied a nice couch in the back yeh c'n use if'n yeh need." He took off after the Pigman, a shuffling mass of blades and armor runnning through the streets.

((I POST... AND then I'm so going to bed. I'm tiiiiiired... GO GO GO))
Titan found himself as pleased as any man would have been when that sexual tension he had been feeling for years and years for the same woman was finally relieved. He could have died then, but he didn't, instead he rather enjoyed being snogged. He liked being snogged. He'd snog this woman all day.
Cort was saying something that probably would have made him a flustered mess, but he was rather distracted. Even when she was finished taking his breath away he just sort of stood there grinning like a moron.
When Amleth took off Titan gave a feeble wave and stumbled a little to the side. When Cort took his leave he stared after him thoughtfully and tilted his head. His eyes were on the hole that rent through the sunset.
"... Wanna make out some more on the couch?" He asked of her, throwing his thumb in that general direction. And even if it was a yes or a no, it was still a good day to end the world.
((Oh yes. Totally, Titan. Good way to go D smile )
"Yes, I'm the healer." Seth said to the prince with a bit of a sneer at Lok.
Lok wasn't paying him a bit of attention. He was running his hands through his hair in a frustrated fashion and beginning to pace like a caged animal. When the shadow spoke up he turned his fierce eyes onto him, but somehow he seemed more distracted than angry. He bared his teeth and swung his gaze back around to the priest.
The pale haired man might have started a little being he was such a wild looking fellow there in the dark, but he held his gaze. He was grateful for the distraction of Dash's wound. "I can heal it." He said instantly as he laid his pale eyes upon the black wound.
Seth gave Nessa a look at her crude remarks. "Oh stop being such a b***h and behave, would you?" He asked of her in the most affectionate tone that such a phrase could be uttered. That tone of voice a man would use to convince a woman to kiss him. Without another word he began to heal the two of them, Lok more warily than Dash.
Meanwhile, Kaelyn was watching the whole lot of them, sword resting lazily on her shoulders. "A wolf, you say? And the sky is falling to pieces?" She gave a funny sort of smile and cast her eyes at Dash as his hand was newly healed. "Sounds like you're going to need a real sword." She said as she swung her own sword from her little shoulders and offered it to him.
"I will be expecting it back, though, my good prince."
When Lok was quite finished being healed and Seth's hand was safe from being bitten, the wild man turned his face to the eerily gleaming sky and snarled. "We have to stop wasting time... and..." He paused and looked at Lay and felt a familiarity there.
"... You." He said. "You'll be able to take care of the Wolf. You're the only one I trust to do it." He frowned deeply and with a deep breath made a quick pace towards where Eve had told him Sally had been taken.
If there was anything Lok had truly been guilty of in his life, it would have to be the curse of one track mind, and it took him now as he ran through the field to find that girl he knew so well, the story that unraveled slowly leading him by a thin strand.

((uuuuwagh. D: ))
"Yes, yes I do." Alandra said with a wry grin and led Titan by the hand back towards where Cort had pointed. Sounded good to her.
((Okay, they're done!))
Dash kept changing his gaze between the horror in the sky, and what was going on on the ground. Eve was more upset than he'd seen her in a long, long time. When she inquired about the wolf, he shook his head, "No, the wolf's a pretty nasty, vicious thing. Ugly, big..." he shot a side glance at Lok, then lowered his voice, "And a bit foamy, actually." he waggled a finger around his mouth and made a face.
Seth then said that he could indeed heal the strange magical wound, and Dash gladly offered his hand. He didn't think for a moment how outright strange it might look for Seth to be holding his hand so. What mattered was that his hand was healed. It had been hurting ever since that incident, and he was willing to do nearly anything to make that stop.
He muttered a quiet thanks to the priest, then turned, surprised, towards Kaelyn, who was offering her sword to him. "Well now, Miss Knight, I couldn't take that. What would you use then?" ....Had he just asked her to tag along?
Set, meanwhile, had kept a dark eye on Lay and his horsey conversation. It wasn't that the Shadow was weirded out by it - he'd seen Lay talk to animals before... But there was always something highly amusing about two animals talking. Especially with how uppity that horse seemed to be at the moment. Apparently, it was their fault the horse was upset. Set gave a bit of a snort in return, "S'not like we're taunting him, or prodding him or even trying to ride him. Tell him to suck it up." He flashed a fangy grin at the horse before turning his gaze forward once again.
The confusion that had happened with the clash of the two groups was starting to calm down, however, he still didn't know what was going on. Apparently the wolfish man had just assigned Lay to take care of the Big Bad Wolf, and everyone was headed off to the great Plot Hole in the sky. "Hell if I want to go into that thing," The Shadow pointed out, a green fingernail pointed towards where Lok was headed. He looked over towards Seth, "You're not thinking of going, are you? We may be having problems here, but THAT isn't my doing. It was pretty princy boy and his friends."
Dash pouted at the comment, but said nothing. He needed to get a sword...
It was then that Amleth and Cort showed up. Dash glanced over at them, surprised, and gave a wave. "Well, you look quite different!" He offered the pigman a smile. If nothing else, he looked more confident.
He had no idea who the grungy looking dwarf was.
"Uh, Lok..." Dash said, looking to the others only momentarily before going after the wolfish man. He had no idea where he'd get a real sword - the one he carried would hardly last, but it was at least something.
"Yeah. Noooot following those crazies." Set muttered, playing with a bit of shadow in his hand.
((haha someone'll have to convince him to go. *coffsethcoff*))

Lay grunted moodily as Set gave him advice on getting the horse in line. "Stupid thing's been through a lot, and he's not taking any more crap," he grumbled. Animals had simple views, making them easy to make deals with, but a pain to haggle.
He arched a brow as the wild-looking man spoke at him. "...Thanks, I guess?" He could definitely feel a connection of some strange sort with this man, and he knew that the Wolf he spoke of was nothing you wanted for a pelt. And certainly not anything he was taking this damned horse along for.
His pointed ears twitched as he heard the squeaking puffs of breath behind him. Lay glanced to see a... well, a strange enough duo waddle-running their way towards the clearing. - There they were! Lok and Dash, they were there, and that woman--Eve?--they were there, thank god, he could finally stop running, stop and just... something, do something and the hole and oh god his lungs hurt.
"Hoimheeeeyuuurrr." Being more out of breath than he thought he ever could be, Amleth's greeting was slurred into a gasping breath, and as he finally managed to wobble to a stop, he was tempted to fall on his to save him the energy of standing. He settled for pressing his hands on his knees and wheezing at the floor.
"Hiii'm...I'm... I'm here, I got here, I'm, I'm here now," he was too tired to really think of anything else to say, at this particular moment.
Cort clanked and clinked as he bustled up, hardly breathing hard. He gave a moody look over the group. Some shiny-lookin fruit, a moody horned feller, a broad who seemed 'bout ready to eat someone's face, a weepy chick, another shiny fruit who was too much a pretty boy to be anythin' but the Hero, and two different animal-type folk; one some kinda hairy cat, and the other a pissed-kinda wild guy. Well, one of 'em was the Wolf, he could guess that much.
"Wot, this the comp'ny you keep, boy? Feh. Well, looks like mosta' them're good 'nuff in a fight, I spose. Dun' see no girl lookin' like she's bringin' treats to her gramma, though."
He huffed, and fiddled absentminded with a hatchet's hilt as the considered them. "Hey, you wankers gonna stare 'round all day blowin' yer gobs at one 'nother, or yeh gonna fight some demons? There's a bloody hole in the sky, don't yeh just wanna go beat the snot out of the thing?"
Amleth choked down the air, and looked around; What was that, that Cort said--Sally? Where was... she wasn't here? And who were all these people...? "Wait... what... what's... where's Sally?" He searched the group again, but he caught no sight of the brunette amongst the unfamiliar faces, nor anywhere in the area.
"'EY. Wot you doin' here, yeh great barn of a woman? still swingin' 'round yore sticks, are ya?" Cort regarded Kaelyn with his dangerous grin. "Din' think I'd see ya 'round for a good long while, that's for sure! You gonna kill some stupid demon tail too?"
Amleth wasn't concerned with the bawdy dwarf's babbling of hypothetical demons. "Where's Sally," he repeated, gripping his new sword hilt. "The thing in the sky, do you guys know what's going on...?" But before he could get a good answer, Lok was stomping off, Dash following an unsure step behind. Being heroic involved a lot more running than Amleth would have thought. He scurried after. "You guys--really--do you know? About, about stuff?"
Lay gave the trio a glance whilst the shadow whined in his ear. "What, you think the problem'll just go away if we leave this alone?" He huffed, fiddling absentminded with a pouch on his belt. "Trust me, whatever shadows come from this mess won't be the sort you like."
Lay couldn't back out of this one; Lok had, essentially, forced a job on him; one Wolf head, with the reward of the world not dying. And maybe some gold, if he could haggle with the wolfish man properly.

Nessa gave Seth a rather upset look. "Seth, baby...you should know by now, you ask the impossible. My essence is b***h, nothing else. Have I not been a b***h once?" She then looked around and rolled her eyes. "Hurry it up, I need to kill something." Her tan fingers tightened around her hips and she kicked at some dirt.
Eve turned her head as Amleth came squabbling into the area, with a dwarf...or a midget...she wasn't sure, they were both the same anyways. "Yeah, the witch has her. Way to put two and two together there pinkish buddy." She said sarcastically, all in some good humor. As the two men ran off she gave a soft sigh and looked to Amleth with a raised brow. "Are you just going to stand around and not offer your guarding assistance to the princess? Let's go." When he scurried off she followed him as well. "Mmm well...Sally got...stolen by the witch, and I'm pretty sure she's got something bad in mind for her. It's usually I that gets stolen...trapped...whatever." She grumbled to Amleth as they finally got to where the hole seemed to be.
Standing in front of it was the witch. Her long white hair was pulled elegantly into a pony-tail, a black dress contrasting against her pale skin. If she wasn't evil, she would have been the most single gorgeous person you laid eyes on. The only thing that took away from her beauty was the evil glare in her eyes and that condescending smile on her blue lips. "Good Evening. I thought you'd never come." She raised a slender white brow and smiled oddly at the group.
Behind her, just inside the hold laid Sally. Her head was drooped, chin touching her chest slightly. Her arms rested limply at her sides. Her was curled more than usual, Eve's doing, making her look just a bit older and more mature. She wore a tight white tank-top with red lace in the front with a knee length red skirt. Most of this however was covered with black letter and words and swirling ink-like shadows. When the group had gotten closer she stirred noticeably, muscles tensing. Finally her eyes lazily opened, blinking quickly as she tried to get her sight back. Her tongue flicked over her pink lips as she sat up.
"Oh, sleeping beauty awakes." The witch said sweetly and noticed a look from eve. "Sorry, it just seemed appropriate, even though that's your title. Interesting not being the damsel in distress this time, huh?" Eve said nothing and only glared at the witch with hatred. Bedelia's blue eyes moved back to Sally as she looked outside and towards the others.
"Lok..." She whispered faintly and moved towards him but almost fell from the hole. Carefully pulling back she realized the situation. "Where...Lok...where am I...what's going..." Pain pulsed through her body and she leaned over, hissing through clenched teeth. "It hurts...what's..." The shadows continued to swirl around her, grabbing onto her ankles and wrists like shackles. "Lok...get out of here...all of you..."
"Poor thing...really a shame she has to go in pain. But the stories love drama you see, pain is the best drama possible. What a grand way to go. Too bad her story will have to cease to exist. At least she only belongs to one of them. Isn't that right, Big Bad Wolf?" She smirked at Lok and leaned back slightly, as if examining a movie. "And then there's the prince and princess, all rich and snooty, perfect in every way. I doubt people will miss you...especially the little piggy. Maybe I should sacrifice all of you." ---
Meanwhile Nessa raised a brow at Set and laughed loudly. "Lay, I actually think he's scared. Perhaps you're more girly than the priest. Of all things..." She gave him a mocking look before twirling around and starting to stomp away. "C'mon Sam! We've got some wolf hunting to do! Perhaps we'll have heart tonight. Ever tasted heart before? Mighty delicious stuff...raw too..."
Sam gagged and shook his head, slowly following his mentor. "Heart doesn't sound pleasant."
"That's what makes it good. The unpleasant things are the best. Kinda like bull testicles. Supposedly they make you live longer."
((Hahaha I heard something about that last part in some show...XDD It was great.))

((Hahaha, it's my turn, isn't it? I'M SO SMART. WHEEE!!!))
Kaelyn smirked a sideways smile at the offer of tagging along. "Can't take care of yourself, can you?" She laughed a little. "Sorry, but I have to stick with this little man here." She threw a thumb at Cort. "He always knows where to find the best demon tail to kick, you see." And before he could say more and before he got away she slid the sword into his hands and kissed him mockingly on the cheek. "Be good now, princess." She sneered jokingly. "None of us will like you half as much if you hurt your pretty face."
"CORT!" The Lady Knight shouted in her brash and blunt voice. "You going to make fun of my career choices or are we going to kick some a**? It's been awhile since I've seen you... let's make this a good visit, shall we?" She flashed a smile and from the practice field racks she grabbed a couple swords, a bow, and all matter of things to stab, maim, and otherwise mutilate vicious beasties... and then stole Lay's horse and galloped off to do some war like affairs with Cort thrown onto the back.
((.. Lolz.... I LOVE CORT. SO MUCH. You have no idea D: ))
Seth watched after the retreating backs as they ran... or rode, off to do all sorts of messy battle things. He nodded his head and then shrugged.
"ALRIGHT THEN." He said with a large grin. "And don't worry Set... we aren't going there... WE are going to help Lay kill that damned wolf... that sound more exciting? I think so."
He pouted. "I'm not THAT girly. Why can't men have long hair? WHY?!" He cried after Nessa's back. "You can sleep by yourself tonight!"
Of course, he probably didn't mean that.
He turned to Set. "Well?" He said with a grin. "Like old times?" A little light played off his face and grew brighter at the thought of battling. "It's been awhile since I've kicked some monster's a**. I've got to say... I miss it." And with a light movement of his hands he spun his staff. A sharp blade slid neatly out of it's tip. "Been awhile since I used this too."
As the group spoke of Wolf hunting, there came the stirrings from the very depth of story, from the edges of the darkest tales and from the legends of horror and blood. He came from the pools of shadow and from the fear of those around.
He was not to be hunted, he came to them. Nightmares weren't sought, they came at their own bidding.
He came head first from the red and black sky, dripping like a greasy shadow from the hellish heavens. He spilled huge and hedious from a rent in the thick air, strands of story clinging to his mangy fur and dripping in cords from his tooth ridden maw. His claws were red hot from heat and the earth spit and sparked beneath his powerful paws. His eyes glowed amber and hateful in his face and his mouth drew back in an ugly snarl.
It might have growled, or it might have made a collective noise of just pure evil.
Seth stared for a moment and then: "Well... ********." Said the holy man.
((OKAY! NOW EVERYONE ELSE! HUZZAH!!!!))
Lok was very determinedly making his way to the rent in the air, but found himself momentarily distracted by those who trotted at his heels. He glanced at them once. Dash was there with a newly acquired sword. He flinched when he looked at it.
He'd definitely been hit by THAT particular weapon one too many times.
There was also Amleth who somehow looked different. He caught his eyes once and then nodded. And there was also the princess Eve. He quirked his mouth, but didn't say anything as she filled Amleth in on what was going on.
They arrived very quickly to the place where the sky was torn, probably due Lok's tireless gallop to get them there. Though, as fast as he had managed to get there it didn't change the fact the situation was bad.
Lok stopped just short of the Witch. His eyes were fixed where Sally sat amidst all the chaos of the unraveling stories. The Witch was speaking to him and he knew it. His body felt a sort of rage and hate that made him feel hot. He was clenching his teeth so hard he thought he might have ground them into dust. He clenched his very human fists and growled in a very human voice.
"b***h!" He shouted at the top of his voice. He felt weight of those daggers at his sides and felt useless and powerless. They couldn't help him in this situation. "Why HER?" He demanded, his hazel eyes blazing. "Why did it have to be HER!?" His voice broke as he finally brought himself to look away from Sally and to the witch.
"Take me instead! I'm the WOLF. I'm the first of dark... the first of villain! The first to be slain by hero. Wouldn't you rather have that instead? What good will she do you? TAKE ME INSTEAD!" He shouted. He threw his hands out inviting her to take him.
"The prince and the princess won't do you any good either! The hero is nothing compared to my dark... I've thrown off the stories more than anyone! I'M NOT EVEN THE WOLF ANYMORE! What do I have left?" Lok moved forward so he was just in front of her, glaring hatefully and levelly into her dangerous eyes. "TAKE. ME."
"And don't lie to Amleth. He's far more important to the Story than you'll ever know. And them either." He tossed his chin over his shoulder to the prince and princess. "Without them. There is no story. WIthout me, it remains the same and you can KEEP your precious stories and have your sacrifice." He exhaled sharply and cast his eyes back to Sally with a look anyone would have known to read. It was obvious since the first time a prince had fallen for a princess and that was look he gave her now, even if he thought he was not capable of such things.
If only he could have seen his face then, he would have known what he had within him all along.
(( HUZZAH!!!... I'm tired now... *waddles off*))

((Okay, my turn, but I need to go to bed... So like... I'll do one charrie, and then add the rest when I get home hopefully D:
So, I'll do Set first... Then Dash... Yeah. Cool.))
"Who said I like Shadows at all?" Set grumbled, picking at a fingernail. "I live alone for a reason." Mostly, they all hated him because he was far more apt at being what he was than they were. Ironic.
He DID sneer at Nessa, though why he did, he wasn't sure. He knew that the look wouldn't get him anywhere. "Shut it Nessa. Scared isn't the word I'd choose." And honestly, the Shadow wasn't... Right? They'd survived their share of trials while saving the princess... And in that colosseum... That had been an interesting series of events, no doubt.
With a sigh, he started following after the thief, arms folded sulkily and a rather practiced pout on his face. This wasn't going to be a picnic. "Heart, Sam," the Shadow put in, glancing down at the boy, "Isn't bad. Just... Not raw. Don't eat it raw. I think it'd kill anyone other than Nessa."
Set then turned to Seth, frowned, and waved a hand, casting a mini shadow-beast to sit on the priest's shoulder. "Uh huh."
What he HADN'T expected was the Wolf to find THEM.
Mimicking Seth's rather vulgar exclamation, the dark haired Shadow pulled his hilts from his belt, forming a shadowy blade on each. Not that he thought it would help much. That thing was damn scary.
Murmuring so that his voice was barely audible over the hellish sound the creature was making, he looked towards Lay, then Nessa, then Seth. He raised an eyebrow and so eloquently put, "Uhh. Let's catch it?"
Yeah. Right.
With a sigh, Set took a stance and waved one of the swords in his hand, conjuring a series of dark, shadowy tendrils from what seemed to be nothing. They writhed and twisted before surrounding the Wolf, attempting to wrap him up tight enough to immobilize it enough for them to take care of it. "s**t... I hadn't expected this so soon..." He murmured angrily.
((haha okay, there's Set. DASH WILL COME TOMORROW AND THERE WILL BE PLOT MOVINGS YES.))

((Woooo, alriiiiight. Time for another crappy poooooost. ;_; ))
It really wasn't just a matter of running a few hundred meters. A hole in Story was more than just a bad storm that would blow over... And a hole in Story wasn't something so easily approached. Lok had been leading, but it soon happened that they were all pushing forward together. It was an effort to keep moving forward.
Why? Because this rip in their fantastic reality pulled at their very existences. They WERE Story - at least in part, and that part, no matter how small, was being pulled and torn by the gash in the sky. It wasn't just a breakdown of woven words and long-told legend. It was a breakdown of their very beings.
And it was getting stronger.
By the time they'd made it to the white witch, Dash was breathing hard, exhausted, and shaking so much the sword Kaelyn had given him was rattling in his white-knuckled palm. He hardly looked like the prince he was supposed to be. His hair was a soggy mess in his now brown-grey eyes. Sweat was dripping from the end of his perfect nose, and that princely 'I can overcome anything and still sing and smile' posture was now hunched and strained.
How the witch wasn't feeling the effects was beyond the man's comprehension.
He did manage a glance at the others, who seemed to be in a similar shape, though Dash wasn't sure if he was worse off. Perhaps it was because he was some way tied to most stories created. Maybe because he wasn't the side character, he had more woven into him to be pulled away.
For the first time in his life, he envied that little pig. He wished he could have been Jack's mother, who threw the beans out the window, and was quickly forgotten. Wished he was one of the kids stolen away by the pied piper instead of the man who saved them.
Lok had lost the Wolf, and Amleth had lost his fears... Sally had grown up, and Eve was taking care of herself. When, really, was Dash going to change?
Perhaps after all of this was over.
Looking up at Bedelia, his pretty face turned into a pained scowl. He glared at the sorceress, shaking hand holding the blade at her. Dash could see Sally's pain; it reflected in his own clouded eyes. Nevertheless, he stepped forward, a determined frown in his movements. "Let her go, Witch. You've already ripped a hole in everything we know. Story's falling apart. You say stories love drama. Story's falling apart. You can't just add to it." He swallowed hard, trying not to clutch at his chest, which felt like it was being twisted into a tight knot. "You have no idea what you're doing, do you?"
The Prince momentarily fell silent, looking to his comrades. He knew he couldn't do this alone. Unlike the victories of the past, those surrounding him gave him strength, not something to fight away, as most stories bid him do. This wasn't a story that had been told... It was unravelling into its own make as they stood there, watching Story be torn to pieces. Everything seemed to be falling apart.
EDIT: For a moment, shock washed over his face, before it was replaced by a moment of a smile, then both fell away to pain and anger at what was happening. Lok was trying to sacrifice himself in place of Sally. That wouldn't do anything... Didn't he see that? The Prince could see just how much Lok cared for the little red riding hood girl... And it pained him more to think that Lok would rather himself die than she. Dash wanted neither to happen. Despite the wolf-man's anger, the Prince put a shaking hand on his shoulder, hoping to calm him down. "Don't play into whatever it is she's doing, Lok. We'll stop her from doing anything. Don't worry." He offered up a half smile before turning and glowering at the witch.
"You won't be sacrificing anything. Give Sally back, Bedelia. I won't be the only one who fights against you this time. You may think having no rules or set story to follow will make you powerful enough to win..." He trailed off, looking to his friends. Amleth looked like a whole new man. He may be as frightened as he'd always been, but there was something there that hadn't been before. Eve seemed rearing to fight, and with all she had - no princess he'd ever seen could have done that so willingly. And Lok... He was just a mere man now... but the ferocity in his eyes was something Dash wouldn't dare contend with. He was far more powerful than the Big Bad Wolf on any day of the week.
Had the situation not been so dire, he would have perhaps let a bit of a smirk slide onto his face.
It seemed in the wake of broken Story chaos around them, they were creating one of their very own. Not to destroy, as Bedelia wanted...
But to make new.
To make whole.
((Haha wow I hope that makes some similitude of sense, because my brain just imploded on the left side... Well, halfway through writing this it did... Agh. BUt yeah, hopefully that's helpful? I dunno. >.o We gotta time this so the Wolf is taken out before our witch... *rolls around* I'm going to bed.))

((LETS TRY TO KEEP THIS MOVING SO NO ONE GETS MAD AT EACH OTHER K?))
Cort grunted as he was lifted off his feet and plopped onto a moody horse. He reeled a bit for balance on the galloping creature; lousy no-good hooved beasts, what with their high-up backs and rather painful kicks to the face. Broken his nose more times from these unruly blighters than any proper fight. He gripped at the saddle, and felt an unpleasant wet spot. "Aw fer Moradin's sake," he hissed.
He craned his neck back to look at the great punk of a woman, and snorted, "Wot, you think I can't insult and beat faces in at th' same time? S'called multitaskin', woman, learn it!" He sneered; he could smell war in the air. Smelled like his mother. He pulled loose his MURDRIN ACKS and waved it, letting loose a howl in what looked like the most dangerous action ever conceived.
((Yeah, Cort's pretty much fantastic to write for.))
Lay briefly watched the female warrior and the dwarf run off. "Stole my damn horse," he muttered. Well, he wouldn't have to pay the stupid thing anymore, at least.
Whilst the others did that bantering business they seemed so very fond of, Lay fingered his quiver to check for how many bolts he had, and wished he had a nice mug of ale; he couldn't take on this Wolf business full-on sober.
But a very, very, very unpleasant feeling suddenly seeped into the air, and a chill ran down the anthro's back; looking to the sky, he saw the beast emerge, reeking of crushed morals, human id, and lots and lots of blood. "Huh," he muttered. Well, they'd found it quick, at least. Maybe they could take it out before he completely lost the alcohol in his system. He looked over the Wolf's massive, dirt-and-blood caked claws, the drool oozing from its jaws like some sort of radioactive slime. Maybe not.
The ex-priest and shadow cursed, and Lay pulled out his crossbow. He couldn't even tell if all the vital points on normal animals worked on this thing. But it was what he knew, right?
The shadows tightened around the Wolf, and Lay loaded a rank-three poison bolt into his crossbow. "Come on then," he muttered, and fired for the neck; lord knows it wouldn't be as easy as that, but damned if he wasn't going to give it a shot.
((Wish I knew actual hunting anatomy >> ONTO EPICDRAMA LAND))
The story's tear wrenched at him, pushing him away and sucking him in, trying to engulf and reject him all at once. His palms grew sweaty as he neared, and he gripped the sword tighter for fear of losing it in the swirl of story.
The hole stretched before them, ripping at the very story's fabric; scenery was reduced to descriptive sentences and lost in the emptiness. And there she was, that, that woman--he'd thought her pretty, he recalled. But there was Sally, tied up at her feet, and that cold, knowing smile on the witch's lips. And at that moment, the sorceress was the most hideous being the pig could ever have imagined. Dash was gasping for breath, Lok was snarling in the woman’s face, and the story roiled all around them, but Amleth’s mind was surprisingly clear. It wasn’t that he was unafraid; oh god, was he ever scared. But for once, he knew that panicking was not a particularly good option.
Lok was offering himself? Amleth blinked, and thought a moment to clear the wax out of his ears. That was... that was silly. But there he was, insisting that the witch take him in place of Sally. The pig gaped. “H-hey,” he interrupted. “Hey! No! You... you cut that out!” He staggered closer in the storm, and poked the ex-wolf in the side. “Don’t say that. You can’t... d-don’t ever say that.”
He scowled at Bedelia, her calm expression mocking them. “D-don’t think I’ve forgotten. I told you... told you that you could have me instead of Sally.” His hands were shaking, but he held the sword firm. “But... the story’s sort of falling apart, and all. And things are going weird because of it. People acting weird.” He tried to put on a brave smile that he hardly felt. “S-so I’m going to have to do something I’ve never done before.” He held up his blade. “I’m going to have to break a promise.”
“You can’t have me. You can’t have Sally or Lok or anyone, because... because... because the bad people never win.” He glared into her purple eyes. “We may have tried to leave the story, but we’re not about to let that part change.”

((Haha not sure how great this will be. I'm tired, kinda moody, and have a presentation in L.A. tomorrow. But I figured I'd get something up before I forgot. D: ))
Nessa gave a short laugh as the others followed and turned her head to look at Sam. "See Sam? They know a strong woman when they see one. Sometimes they can be decent, when they aren't being morons." Sam gave Nessa a look before sighing and turning away.
When Seth yelled out at Nessa she tilted her head towards him and gave a shrug. "I won't be missing anything." Her eyes flashed playfully and before he could as much touch her she jumped away and started to dash towards the middle of the town. That was before the wolf was spit out of some place. Kinda like a mass of shadowy throw up from hell. She figured maybe it was throw up from hell. Better moral standards so she could be doing something for the greater good of God instead of simply killing for the hell of it.
"Aren't you a handsome beast?" She said with disgust and took a step backwards to stand somewhat diagonally beside Seth. Sam meanwhile cringe and pulled to the closest hiding spot he could find. Nessa pulled out two small daggers from seemingly nowhere and looked around. When Set said to catch it she gave a raise of her brow and smirked at him.
"You can catch it. It'll probably try to hump your leg since your the shadow master or whatever right? It is a dog thing after all." Her smirk widened slightly before hearing the creature make a noise and she glanced back at it. "Right, settle down then there fluffy." She muttered roughly and twirled the blades between her fingers. Before she threw them Lay already fired his own arrow and she decided to wait. Better see if physical weapons actually hurt the thing.
"Somehow I feel this is gonna be difficult..." She breathed out in annoyance and itched her cheek with the dagger, lightly enough not to draw blood. "I hate fighting the magical beings. Too damn annoying. I have enough of that every day. I wish it would have been an actual WOLF. God." She hissed.
((haha...I dunno what Nessa can do to him if physical things don't hurt, so I decided she'd wait to see what happens.)) ----
Sally watched the group with anxiety. Her brown eyes lowered before snapping back up with Lok yelled. She flinched a bit and brought a hand up to her chest, rubbing her collar bone nervously. Yelling always made her nervous, Lok yelling even more so. It wasn't that she wasn't used to him yelling...he did it often...but yelling out of that pure anger. Not out of annoyance or just to hear himself, but rage. "Lok..." She began before he started blurting out stuff again. Everything was swirling around her and she felt her heart ache tremendously when he offered himself.
"NO!! SHUT UP!" Sally screamed at him, almost throwing herself out of the hole. She stumbled but the words snatched her waist and held her tightly so she didn't fall. Well...at least they were good for something. Tears burned her eyes and she shook her head. "Don't say that!"
"Awwwwwww." Bedelia crooned and batted her eyes. "Sweet puppy love. Ironic since there isn't any more puppy in you." Her smile twisted maliciously at Lok and she gave a shrug. "If you really want me to take you instead, I'll take you." She leaned her head back as he drew closer and she raised her white brows in mock surprise. "No need to yell, I'm right here." She pushed a finger into his chest and walked around him, dress and hair trailing behind her like a river.
"What's this Percival? You look sick...poor thing...never been sick a day in your life...or should I say existence. So you have no life." With a sigh she looked up at the sky dramatically and moved a hand towards his face, Eve stepped in front of Dash and glared at Bedelia. "Woah, changing roles? How unwomanly of you Ms. Eve."
Before she said much more now the pig was blabbering away. Bedelia looked at him with shock, not a mocking version of it. "And the pig learns to speak. How heart warming. This would be the part where I get a bit misty. The underdog becoming the hero. Too bad you're short and fat. And made of pork." She leaned towards him and grinned, this time a toothy smile that made her for the first time, look actually frightening. It was a smile that belonged to a cat. A menacing one at that. "Little pig...little pig...let me come in." Wiggling a finger at him a large blast of energy shot from her hand and towards Amleth. Her eyes grew wild and she turned back to the group.
"Think I don't understand how the story works? You want to know a secret? I do. I've known all this time you're actions were leading to this plot hole. Another secret is that I waited because it was part of my plan. Get rid of all of you, make my own story. You guys ARE my story. This is all just the climax of it. ONE of the climaxes." She laughed loudly and spread out her hands. "I'm the one who's writing now."
Sally felt her fists clench and she ground her teeth. She wanted so badly to punch the woman in the face and see her pretty lips bloodied. Then she felt surprised she would even THINK of such grisly things. "YOU'RE A BIG BUTT HEAD!"
((yay! Hahaha...Sally would say that. Hopefully that's not too much. D: I wasn't sure where I should stop. D: It's hard with two characters...))
