Tante raises her weary head from caring for the critically injured assassin and looks to Raven. She was not sure if Raven heard her speak aloud that she could sense Logan's presence nearby and it would probably be best had she not. Logan assassinated not his target, Sir Nicholas Fury, but several members of her own clan that were fighting to defend that very man, and some whom were completely innocent of any doings. She could sense the love inside that Elektra felt for this man, even now, and somehow, for some reason, Tante suspected the feeling was mutual at some point, if not still.

She glances to Raven and shakes her head.

"No Raven, Emma seperated from me dis mornin' when she wanted to do a check of de camp's security. Haven't seen her since."

Tante goes back to caring for Elektra, tilting her head up with a palm against the back of her head so that she could assist in feeding her some warm broth.

"You don' like de fact dis woman is here, no?"

"Why would I? I've shadowed her frequently enough to know what she is, and that's a cut throat. Give her some gold and she'll kill her own mother. I understand your compulsion to help those in need, but there is a difference between rescuing Witchbreed children and saving assassins that killed your kinsmen less than a day ago. While it may please you to do so, it will give the children a distorted view of the outside world. Forgiveness is hard to come by out there and so is compassion. You have saved this life yes, but if she continues to kill those lives will be on your conscience."

Raven wanted to suffocate Elektra right there on the spot. No blood, no mess. That murder would be on her own soul and she could live with it. She loved the old woman like her namesake, but she worried about Tante. She was beginning to show her age and times were tough. Raven badly wanted to bring Emma out to London, to show her the fun that her powers could bring, to give the woman the power she was bred for. But looking at Tante, Raven knew it would be a grievious mistake to lure Emma away because her leadership would soon be needed. Perhaps not this year or the next, but someday soon. Raven turned away and blinked back a tear.

His head tilted up, as he kept his eyes locked on hers. His gruff, face was only a shell around eyes that had fallen into weakness. He didn't say anything, didn't do anything. Simply stared at her. The silence was deafening and long, before he finally spoke, and the words he said were the only ones he had to say to her:

"Take me...to see... Elektra..."

Her cloak unfolds and she crosses her arms over her chest, watching and silently waiting.

"Logan, you have yet to tell me the one reason why I should. To take you into this camp after what you did? Every gypsy there would be after your heart. You'd be killed within an instant for the atrocities you commited."

She reads his thoughts, those he tried with all of his best to retrain from anyone knowing, but to her, it was as simple as flipping open a book and glancing at the words within. She smiles and shakes her head.

"An assassin, capable of love?"

He narrowed his eyes and emotion finally showed through. "...I may be less than man, but I do feel, witch... I will not share my personal history with you... But I know the mistakes I have made, and can only fix them by facing them." He glared, long and hard, before he finally broke and his eyes, for the first time in a long time, down casted in guilt and even dispair. "...I have no honor. ...I have no pride. ...I have no life. ...I don't even have death. There is only one thing I have, and I wish only to amend it before it is lost to me, as well..."

Logan closed his eyes, and his hands would hang at his sides. Finally, everything crashed in on him, and hopelessness started to suck him down. Hitting rock bottom was never any good. But bursting through it, and free falling into nothingness was worse. He clawed desprately to stay at rock bottom.

She shakes her head, silently staring at him, for once disbelief and silence shadowing her normal habit of talking down on people like this. She delved into his soul, looked at the life and memories of what he was once and felt he could never be again. She felt anger and remorse at what he had done to her kin, but for him, she felt something else entirely.

Pity.

"What are you so afraid of Logan? That your life could actually be for the better, that someone out there might expect something from you that does not involve the shedding of blood?"

With her fingers under his chin she forces his chin up to face her.

"Love is only as valuable as the reciprocation. It is no illusion of the mind as you might be led to believe."

She lowers her hand and turns her back to him, stepping forward, but speaking over her shoulder as she goes.

"If you wish to risk your heart and open yourself up to her, then you are more than welcome, but I will tell you this."

She turns to stare at him, no nonsense in her icy eyes.

"Harm one hair on the head of any who resides within this camp, and you will answer to none other than myself."

Pity. That was more than he should have been granted. He watched as she walked away, and slowly began to follow. He reached down and picked his sword up, tying it once more around his waist. He nodded to the White Witch without emotion on his face. "I have no desire to be here anymore than you want me here, Witch... Even Fury's stench I have no desire to end at this moment... I merely want to see Elektra. That, I give you my word, on the man I had once been..." Following her, he relaxed his guard as he followed her into her lead.

"And what of de lives you `ave taken over de years chere?"

Tante's words pull Raven out of her thought process enough to turn around once again.

The old woman has pushed herself up to her feet and she stands before Raven, watching her with a mother's heart.

"I may be old chil', an' my powers may not be what dey used to be, but I am no fool. Many of us `ave `ad blood spilled on deir `ands over de course of time. Yourself included. Don't t'ink I don' know where dat `orse came from. De nobles value deir `orses more so dan deir own wives Raven. To seperate one from dem, you would `ave to kiill dem."

She walks to Raven, her hands clasped in front of an ample waistline.

"Life itself is precious child. We may not be able to control de actions of others, but we can give dem de chance for a second attempt at life."

Thru the dense boundary of the trees they pass, until they arrive at a seperation of two large redwoods that reach high into the heavens. In front of each of these regal works of nature, a guard stands but as logan braces himself for some form of resistance, none comes forth. The guards act as if they do not even notice him.

"I would certainly appreciate it if you did not dawdle Logan."

Following close behind her, she can sense his curiousity. They step into the very bank of the camp and it appears as tho noone is there, as everyone has went back to their tents to sleep for the night for what would come tomorrow. Only a handful of guards remain on their respective posts but they do not bat an eye towards him and she smirks, knowing his line of thinking.

"Pay them no attention logan. Everyone is in bed. I simply shielded you from their eyes. I felt it best for now until I have time to explain to the queen just who we are hosting this particular eve."

He took note of what she informed him of, and relaxed a bit...but still his body was coiled like a viper, ready to strike and flee if need be. He was an assassin not a...a.. Juggernaught or anything. He would be over welmed and skinned like an animal, he made no mistake of that.

He walked a bit more by her side, looking about. He never went back into the scene of his carnage that he ever laid to waste. I stuck in the area to hear the reports of the chaos, but never had he returned to the actual scene of his crime. He shook his head, and focused on where it was that Emma was leading him. He wouldn't think of the gypsies and their doings. No, he would not. He was still loyal to King James...and would only stay nuetral in his thoughts until he and Elektra were fast away.

The fact they were healing her of his assault, and were granting him return after the chaos he caused... They held a new note in his eyes. These gypsies, as she had said, were not the ones from the New World that Fury had betrayed him to. He would leave this group alone, the least that he could do for them. But soon as Fury was away, he would be on the Hunt again.

They approach two tents set side-by-side, one larger than most, the queen's abode, the other where the gypsies would place their wounded for the care of Tante Mattie.

Emma saw Raven at the tent at one point, but apparently she had left. Tante was inside, tending to the wounds inflicted on Elektra as they stepped up just feet away from the tent, when the flap opened slowly and Logan saw a heavyset black woman emerge from the tent, the self same one that had showed more guts than any man he had faced when she openly came between him and Fury just one night ago. Old yes, but incredibly brave.

"Tante..." Emma begins.

The gypsy queen, the one responsible for bringing Elektra back from the brink of death, looks up and into the eyes of the assassin who laid waste to her realm and her people. She says nothing until Emma opts to coyly begin the introductions.

"Tante Mattie," Emma says dryly, motioning to the man beside her. "This is Logan. Logan?" Emma moions with an arm to the queen. "This is the woman who saved the life of Elektra, our queen."

Logan stared at her, and went to his knee, his head down, eyes at her feet like a Japanese low-stationed peasent. "I aim to make no apologizies... I do not come to do anymore harm to you or your kind... Already do I realize what little my life is worth, and the damage I have done to your people... So I save you time in repremending me on words that have echoed endlessly through my soul... All I want is to see my Elektra." Logan went silent, and did not move any as he awaited her judgement, and even more tongue lashings. He didn't need anymore but if that's what he needed to suffer through to get to see her, he would let it be dealt his way and take it as nobely as he could.

On his knee, bowing in reverance? This...is a heartless assassin?

Tante stares at the man before her who just acday ago laid waste to several lives around her, was now on his knee, showing her humility that seemed unbefitting for a man such as this. A man that kills freely and without discrimination, but also shows respect to someone such as herself and feels the need to expose a piece of his inner self that+ she would have thought would have been buried deep inside until he experienced the end of his life.

The queen looks to Emma but the White Witch's eyes are firmly on the assassin, watching and waiting. She knew Emma well enough that she never would have brought the man into the camp had she not delved into the recesses of his mind and discovered his oath to leave any here without harm true. Still, despite her powers, Emma trusted noone save herself, so she stood at the ready, just in case.

Tante steps forward to Logan and looks down at him subjecating himself.

"No Logan," Tante begins. "As little as you think of yourself, you do not think highly enough. You took the lives of those I consider my children, and that is not something I can ever forget. It is not something any of us will forget."

She leans over, looking at him staring at the ground.

"Forgiveness however, may come in time, tho it not be a guarenteed promise. All life has value to cherish chil'. All you have to do is discover it's worth."

He shook his head slowly, without looking up. "I do not ask for forgiveness from you, Gypsie Queen, nor do I ask it from any of those whom would hate me rightly." Logan slowly looked up, his wolfish eyes no longer cunning or blood shot as she had seen the night before when he threw her away from covering his prey. "I only ask of it from one person, whom should not even give me that much... Once I have her answer...I will either stay by her side until she is well enough to leave with me...or I shall leave alone. But you need not fear my...rage, for it is not aimed at your people any longer." His eyes down casted once more, avoiding any eye contact. "Take me to see Elektra... Gypsie Queen, if I can ask only of that..."

Tante nods, her eyes closed, easily sensing the inner turmoil that has welled up in this man over the years.

"If dat is truly how you feel chil', den you should be ready for anyt'in life throws in ytour direction. Whether it be war,"

Tante reaches to the folds of the fur lined tent flaps and pulls them aside so logan can see the lone occupant inside, resting peacefully tho still in bad shape.

"...or love."

He looked up slowly, and what he saw almost felt like a fist to the gut...followed by claws ripping up into his chest and forcably removing his heart. Logan stood, almost stumbling into the tent and fell to his knees besides her cot. "...God no..." His wide palm touche her cheek lightly, fingers trempling as he carassed her face...but not touching her skin, his touch only a breath away from connecting. He dared not let his taint touch her... He'd caused her so much pain... The previous night flashed through his mind, and he squeezed his eye tight.

They tumbled through the snow... She went for her sais, he swiped them away. Snow and powder blew around their tussling forms, him easily over powering her smaller frame. "You... You betrayed me, Elektra! You fill me full of false words and feelings... AND YOU BETRAY ME!" He threw her to the ground over his head...then slammed her into a tree. "...Betray me! ...Betray me! ...Betray me!" Her eyes went wide as he shoved his claws into her, and twisted. Then...he let her fall, and belittled her again...before walking away...

Logan stared down at her...sitting on his knees, as the words echoed through his head. "No... You didn't, Elektra... Forgive me, my Elektra... I don't deserve it... But at least give me that..." He just sat there, unmoving and resting his hands in his lap in his usual meditative pose. The man was not meditating, though. His head was hung low, and eyes were closed as he simply waited for her to come to consiousness.

His words flow through her subconscious mind, a gentle breeze on the dreamscape. She can hear him perfectly, but her eyes remain closed, with her lids fluttering the remnants of REM sleep.

She is once more in the snow, grappling with an enraged Logan. His fury absolute and unrelenting. He means to kill her. She can see through his icy blue eyes. Where once stood her reflection, now is a snarling savage incapable of remorse, of feeling, of understanding. She would have no choice but to fight. Speed has always been in her favor, something to rely on. Now she is depending on it.

Her heart races as he advances on her. She reaches for her most trusted weapons, her twin Sais, but for the first time in her life she is not fast enough. His strength is too much, his rage too great. She has no choice but to plead herself, but his claws tear the air from her lungs. Try as she may, she cannot speak.

She lies on the frozen ground, her eyes staring blankly into the sky as he departs.

"No, Logan! Don't leave me! I don't want to die!"

The sky turns to white.

Suddenly she thrusts herself upright in her bed, eyes wide, heart pounding. The lighting in the room greets her as a blinding flash. She blinks rapidly, her chest heaving desperately, grateful for the oxygen provided.

A figure is kneeling before her, almost in meditation. She can discern only few details while her vision resolves her environment. Sturdy in build, gruff in appearance, and... mournful. He has come for her.

She tries to pull herself from her bed to her weapons. She would fight this time, but Tante's hand forces her back down. She remains too weak to resist.

"I... don't want to... die... again..."
