... I really don't know if I want to watch this subtitled episode or I might start bawling.

I don't know if Stream downloaded the raw yet, but I do know that instead of watching the raw and then watching it later with the sub, he's waiting for the sub to watch it all at once.
I always wait for the sub, so likely I won't be watching the episode until tomorrow morning.

Subs only served to give me a bigger gaping hole under my heart. gonk
But, Simon still made the right choice, every time he used his Spiral Energy, something worse came about from it. Brekaing through to the surface landed him in the middle of a war. Stealing the Daiganzan made him lose his brother. Defeating Lord Genome set up for humanity's downfall and the betrayal of Nia. Saving Nia meant losing his friends. Saving the world meant losing Nia. He can break through the heavens all he wants, but the backlash will still catch up with him, it's the nature of the drill that as it descends into the earth it climbs back up as well.
But all the people who died, they never left him, the last episode showed us that, they're still living in Simon's heart and mind, and now Nia's with them. It's not that they're in some far off place, and you leave them behind... but instead that you carry them in your heart, and they're always there for you.
...s**t, I probably ******** that up pretty bad, I'm still a little tore up over the ending.
But, quick question, who else believes that Viral's transcended Beastman status? Finding his drill, actually being able to awaken from Simon's dream world, contributing a part of his soul to TTGL in the form of swords... Sorry, I just don't see how people can still believe that he doesn't have any Spiral Energy.

Well, I didn't hate the ending, but I didn't love it either. It could have been worse, I suppose. In the end, everyone seemed to be content with how their lives turned out.

We never really got around to our answers, did we? xd (I only remember us talking about our favorite deaths, which lead to favorite fights and so on ... ) Favorite moment? Here's my top 3 (with pictures!) 3)  The first ending of episode 27, before the credits. I just liked the finality of it. It just seemed like an appropriate end to the show, including all the dialogue leading up to that point. I thought it was done excellently. 2)  Episode 23, epic Spiral power teleportation followed by Simon's punch of determination. Great scene, and the whole carrying the momentum of a gigantic mech into a punch isn't a bad idea either. 1)  Kamina's Death and the fight preceding it. Kamina was an awesome character who set the path for Simon, and without being too deeply engrained in the story, maintained a deep relationship with viewers and remaining characters alike. Runners up:   The Infinity Big Bang Storm is pretty much one of the most powerful attacks I've seen in a mecha series, and it looks amazing. There are others, I'll post later.

For most moving, the primary ending to 27 where Nia fades out. For hilarity, and I'm not sure why, 27's secondary ending where Simon starts to ask the kid who he thinks he is, but catches himself and says he's nobody. For epic Gar, when Simon finally starts to go Garlock just before the time jump. Best fight though, Kamina v Viral in the field. Hands down that was my most favorite just because of the n00b-fu that Kamina pulls on Viral with the gun.
