Donovan chuckled, "Well that solved that problem quite nicely," he told Ulrich, "A lot easier than trying to explain why one would have two grandmothers."

Ulrich chuckled. "Well, it stands to reason that Elnara would teach her children about her family here in her own language," he explained. "At least, to me. I mean, I call my parents by their Common Elfish referents, and Ulani's by their High Elven referents ... the language of their people."
He shrugged. "It's just how I was raised I guess."

Kara giggled at the thought, "I haven't really thought about it that way, but it makes a lot of sense," she murmured.
She watched as Miyu tried to get herself off the couch now that the nice lady was gone. Though she wasn't sure what to do now, normally she would be outside playing.

"Well," Donovan murmured, "Now that's settled, I guess all there is to do is to wait until everyone else gets up," hopefully it'll be a quiet morning, it was too early for yelling, "Kara probably wants to take walks, she kind of came half way through her journey blind so..."

Ulrich nodded, smiling. "Well, Serenity and Daeron will be gone all day - once Daeron wakes up, anyways ... Ruel will sit around and mope all day," he chuckled, only half-amused. "I need to do a bit of hunting, we're running low on food ... you're welcome to come with me, Donovan, if you'd like," he offered.
He paused thoughtfully and looked at Kara. "If you don't mind waiting a day," he mused, "I know Serenity would probably love to take a long walk with you ..."

"Hmm... hunting huh?" Donovan smirked a bit, "It's been a while since I've done that."
Not since he was thrown into training with the rest of his year mates, let not go into that, as fun as it was, he didn't want to repeat training again any time soon.
"What do you think?" he murmurd to Kara.

Kara laughed a bit, "Go," she looked at Ulrich, "I can wait a day," she smiled at him, "Don't worry, I don't mind, but take Donovan otherwise he'll get bored, and then things might get messy," she joked.

Ulrich laughed heartily at that, and nodded, grinning. "After breakfast then," he agreed. He got to his feet. "And speaking of which," he added, "it smells as if it just might be ready."
Just then, Ruel and Daeron wandered into the livingroom. Ruel appeared wide awake and well groomed, but Daeron was rubbing sleep from his eyes, and his hair, pulled back into a short low ponytail, was still sticking out all over the place.

Skye wriggled off the couch and headed for the kitchen, following her nose towards the smell of ... something she didn't recognize. But whatever it was, it was making her mouth water.
She wandered right into Ulani's legs, and looked up at her, giggling. "Make nummies?" she asked brightly, her wings fluttering excitedly.

"Well..." Donovan replied after a while, "It looks like Skye went all on her own, Kara.. .get up," he smirked up at her.
Even though he knew it was his fault she was placed there in the first place.

She stuck her tongue out at him impishly before getting off his lap. Kara brushed the imaginary wrinkles out of her dress before bending over to button up the rest of Donovan's shirt for him.
Miyu looked around and held her arms up in the air, as if to say she wanted to be picked up. She was used to people (mainly her fathers and brother) to understand her speechless movements. Wataru especially was always good at it.

Ulrich chuckled lightly at Donovan and Kara, then looked down at Miyu. He wondered what she would do if he would be the one to pick her up ... and decided to try it.
"All ready for breakfast, little one?" he grinned, kneeling in front of her and holding his hand out to her. He spoke a few quick words to Daeron, then looked back at Miyu.
Daeron broke into a huge grin and - rather than heading for the kitchen - ran to the door and outside.
Ruel's face darkened slightly, and without a word he headed into the kitchen, where he took a seat at the table.
Ulani giggled back down at Skye, and reached down and picked her up. "Lots of nummies," she grinned, putting her forehead against the tiny angel's. She laughed and twirled her around a bit.

Skye giggled and put her arms around Ulani's neck, her wings fluttering. "Skye fly!" she squealed as Ulani spun her around, stretching her wings out as far as she could. She giggled again.

Kara smiled and blushed a bit trying not to think about it, it was just unusual to see Donovan half done up. He was normally so... neat, not that she minded, the man did need to relax after all. Helping her run a school couldn't have been good for him.
Miyu looked up at Ulrich for a moment, he seemed nice enough and Gramma and Grandpa seemed to like him well enough. She tittered over to Ulrich's hand taking it with both of her little hands.

Donovan nodded with a smirk as he got up, taking Kara's hand. Escorting her into the kitchen for breakfast, it would be like the first breakfast they had here... only with a bit less of pleasant company in his opinion.
