she is going with this. Like I said, I appreciate the surprise
but I'm getting very skeptical of this series.
Which is bad, because I love this series too much
to let it go but I can see it happening.

I wondered the same thing. I don't like where she took Kio's storyline. The whole twin sister and having a daughter didn't seem to fit. Especially not with Kio's character. I don't know about you guys, but I always got the impression that Kio wanted to get in Soubi's pants. So I was very surprised when it was said that he had a daughter.
I'm sticking around because I really, really want to know who Ritsuka's fighter is.

I don't think Yun Kouga really pays much attention to gender identity in relationships. There are a lot of characters in her stories that are very pan sexual..(although not quite that). If you note, Ritsuka doesn't mentions Soubi's gender as he does of his age the first time we meet.
And when Soubi answers Ritsuka's "Do you mean sex?", again first volume,it's "I can't get excited for a child" and then Ritsuka's "It'd be creepy if you could."
Maybe, I'm going farther than I should, but like with your comment about Kio, I don't think a lot of her characters are what we would define "Straight" or "Gay",
Although, I realllllyy dislike Kio's story line. While I DO want to see more of him, and I looove character back stories and depth....This was just so left-flied for me, in the bad way.
How can his daughter almost be the same age as Ritsuka?
If Kio is 20-something like it mentioned he was in the "summer days" extra. Then that would mean he'd be at MOST 12-13.
Which, I suppose is around the same time Soubi lost his ears.... But for a some one that old to have a child born? So.....Eh...
