He shook his head slightly. Right over Kaleb's head though the smirk on Rude's face meant he got it. "It's suppose to hurt. That's how it works"

He'd tried really hard to not snicker at that and failed. "Maybe i'll even find another to make it hurt in a better way"

Kaleb blinked, obviously confused by Reno's statement. Hurt was hurt, and he couldn't imagine how it could be better or worse, unless Reno was reffering to more or less painful. And in that case, 'better' could vary depending on who was using the term. "What do you mean?" He finally asked.

The mage just frowned. "I do want to know," he muttered almost sullenly, although he was always being told to just forget about it and not listen to Reno, he always wanted to know everything. It was always going to be difficult for him to let these kinds of things slide.

Kaleb huffed loudly, not at all pleased at Reno's comment. He had expected to be brushed off and not answered, but Reno's way of brushing him off this time really irritated him. If he could pass that test and handle incredibly complicated magical theories, certainly his 'poor little brain' would be able to comprehend whatever it was Reno would have told him.

Kaleb huffed again as he was patted, but with less feeling this time. "Why not explain now?" he asked in a frustrated tone, moving to gesture with his hands before wincing and putting his aching wrist back against the icepack. He seemed to lose all of his anger with that movement, and simply slouched back into the chair with a sigh.

Kaleb glanced over at Rude, but he didn't protest or anything. It wouldn't be the first time the large Audio had stopped Reno from saying something to him.

Once again, the intended meaning of Reno's words went right over Kaleb's head. He glanced over at the clock and took the icepack off his wrist, which just reminded of him what they had been talking about earlier. "Reno, is there a good time for me to come in tomorrow so we can practice if my wrist is okay?" he asked.
